The Northern Samoyed Society 50th Championship Show – Sunday 31st March 2024

Many thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge your Championship Show, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Although numbers are dropping, I could still find quality throughout the classes. However, I feel that mouths need watching carefully and rear angulation was lacking in quite a few exhibits.

1st – 31 Richardson-Wright’s Santaviga Another Jedi – Makes a nice shape and outline for his age. Stands true in front with good bone. Head-piece has correct width with neat ears. Correct in neck and shoulders with nice length of leg. Top-line is firm with a strong rear. Moves soundly and in nice coat.

Class 6: Yearling Dog

1st – 9 Hopkins-Navratilova’s Holy Archie Orleansnow (IMP CZE) – So well off for size and such a super outline. Has the best of head-pieces with neat ears, good eye shape and colour and correct in mouth. Good length of leg with quality bone and feet. Nice depth of body to length of leg. Top-line good and correct in the rear with excellent tail-set and carriage. In quality coat and he excels himself on the move. Dog CC and Best in Show

2nd – 3 Bobrowski & Kirkwood’s Vandreem Imperial Breeze over Berezniki – 21 months old, of nice size and shape. Good head, full of type. Parallel front and well off for bone. Good neck and shoulders with a nice spring of rib. Top-line is correct and he’s strong in the rear. Tail-set and carriage is correct and sound on the move.

1st – 37 Tarasinska’s Siberianmist Odin – Quality head with good width between the ears, correct in eye colour and good bite. True in front with good bone. Correct top-line and nice tail-set and carriage. Firm in the rear with nice angles and uses himself well on the move. In full jacket and handled so well by this young handler.

2nd – 7 Fremlin’s Jazzmonta Thunder at Icewind – Has a quality head with a super expression. True in the front with good bone and feet. Firm in the neck and shoulders, correct top-line and tail-set and strong in the rear. Moves soundly and turned out in nice coat.

3rd – 11 Jebson, Kirkwood & Carruthers’ Lovely Snow Diamonds Kristoph to Vandreem

Class 9: Open Dog

1st – 30 Pritchard/Roberts’ Ch Another Benji for Yoshi and Us (IMP SVK) – 5 year old making a nice overall shape and stands on a good front with correct bone. Quality head and pleasing expression. Firm in the body and sound in the rear. Nice tail-set and carriage and moves out soundly when viewed from all angles. Turned out in lovely coat.

2nd – 38 Woodhead’s Nikara Secret Wish with Pashka – 6 year old of correct size and in quality coat. Pleasing in head with neat ears and correct eye colour. Stands true in front and sound in the rear. Good top-line and tail-set and moves soundly.

Class 10: Veteran Dog

1st – 25 Kirkwood’s Neopisuemiy Shastlivchik D’Starys Hutora Dykanki (IMP UKR) – 8 year old turned out in super condition. Good overall shape, has a true front with quality bone and good feet. Firm in the neck and shoulders with nice spring of rib. Sound in the rear with good angles. Was sound on the move and in quality jacket. Reserve Dog CC & Best Veteran

2nd – 34 Short’s Zakaytia Angel of Mine – 9 years and correct in size. In nice coat and stands on a good front. Very pleasing in head with nice type, good depth of chest and nice spring of rib. Quality top-line and correct tail-set and carriage. Firm in the rear and moves very soundly for his age.

3rd – 17 Mann’s Nikara Dream Maker

1st – 5 Cornwell’s Jewel Child of Joy Orleansnow (IMP CZE) - Upstanding young bitch, full of quality. Lovely feminine head, parallel front and nice bone. Firm in the neck, sound in the rear with nice angles. Correct in tail carriage and so sound on the move.

2nd – 28 Owen’s Svetllen’s Barn Owl – Pleasing in head with neat ears and good eye shape and colour. True in front, nice depth chest and length of leg. Good tail-set and carriage, sound in rear and moved out with style. In good coat.

3rd – 18 Mann’s Silbertips and All That Jazz JW

Class 15: Post Graduate Bitch

1st – 12 Jebson & King’s Vandreem Imperial Amore – Good size and shape and in full coat. Stands true in front and firm in the neck and shoulders. Pleasing in head with a super expression. Top-line is good and tail-set is correct. Sound in the rear with good movement.

2nd – 36 Tarasinska’s Siberianmist Lagertha – 2 year old with a nice front and good feet. Quality head with neat ears, good eye shape and colour and correct bite. Nice arch of neck and good width of chest. Top-line is correct and has a nice tail-set and carriage. She’s sound in the rear with good angles and moves out with purpose.

1st – 40 Young’s Cocosamel Camelia JW – Well off for size, making a nice shape. Quality head with a very nice expression. Neat ears, good eye colour and correct bite. True in front with quality bone and firm in the neck and shoulders. Has a good tail-set and is very strong in the rear. In nice jacket and moves well.

2nd – 33 Short’s Silbertips Star Attraction at Zakaytia (AI) – Stands on a true front with good bone. Quality head and expression. Firm in the neck, correct in top-line with a nice spring of rib and good depth of chest. Nice parallel rear with correct angles, sound on the move and in good jacket.

3rd – 35 Tarasinska’s Charlotte Wolf in Sheep’s Skin

Good head and expression with neat ears, good eye shape and correct in the mouth. Nice depth of body, firm in the rear with nice angles and very sound on the move. Turned out in nice coat and a pleasure to award her Bitch CC

2nd – 8 Gwynne’s Rosnorske Royal Amethyst – Another quality bitch, 2 ½ years old and of nice size and shape. True in front, good bone and nice depth of chest and spring of rib. Correct in top-line and good tail-set and carriage. Very pleasing in head with the right expression. Sound in the rear and sound on the move.

3rd – 16 Mann’s Ch Nikara Secret Dreamer

Class 18: Veteran Bitch

1st – 29 Pritchard’s Ch Right One for Mezen Yoshi and US Santaviga (IMP SVK) – Lovely feminine girl, correct in shape and outline, so much quality in the head with neat ears, good eye colour and true in the mouth. Firm in the neck and shoulders and parallel in the front with good bone. Correct in top-line with a good tail-set and carriage and stands true in the rear with good angles. So sound on the move, at just the right pace. Reserve Bitch CC

2nd – 32 Short’s Zeelukzak Ice’n Glorious at Zakaytia JW VW – Another lovely bitch, full of type and making a super shape and outline. Has a quality head with the true expression. Stands true in front and firm in the rear with nice angles. Good depth of chest and spring of rib, correct in top-line and nice tail-set. Turned out in lovely coat and moves so very soundly.

3rd – 27 Naylor’s Samnouska Time to Shine of Karenshko
