London Collie Club

Breed: BIS Awards

London Collie Club

June 2024

It is always an honour to be asked to officiate at a Breed Club show, especially as a non-Specialist and it was great to be back here at LCC to judge the BIS awards. There was a good atmosphere throughout the day and although the weather was rather chilly, it was an ideal temperature for the dogs. Thank you to Officers and Committee for this prestigious invitation and their warm hospitality. I had a lovely time.

BIS: My choice for BIS was the beautiful shaded sable Rough female, Mejola Main Even. Of an ideal size and outline. Good head shape, fairly long, blunt wedge. Well placed stop. Dark, almond eye. Excellent high set tipped ears. Strong, medium neck. Excellent depth of chest. Has strength over loins. Moderate rear. Could have put a bit more in on the move but is completely sound, moving freely with acceptable tail carriage. Her coat fits her body well, not excessive, good texture and rich in colour. I gather she also gained her title on the day…congratulations!

RBIS & BVIS: This went to the effervescent 8 year old blue merle Smooth female, Ch. Blamorder Ice Cream Dream. Love her outline. Has femininity in outlook but doesn’t compromise either substance or bone. Very good head piece. Uses her ears well. Excellent profile movement. Well broken markings. Enthusiastic showgirl who deserved her awards today.

BPIS: The Rough pup, Starlenga All About Majic For Corisian completely fills the eye and topped the puppies today. Excellent head, strong but of good shape and no sign of coarseness. A Moderate stop, well placed. Excellent eye for size shape and colour. Excellent neck. Good angles front and rear. Moved out well in all directions. Excellent coat and body for his age. Took the Res CC, approaching a year in age and looking like he will have a great future.

BOSIS: The young tri Smooth, Wynele Strike It Rich To Lewarne. Loved this boy as a pup, awarding him BPIB here last year. He is maturing very well and in excellent condition. Probably still needs a bit more time to mature fully but an excellent representative that is well made and moves out so well, particularly from profile. Took his second CC today, hope his deserved title isn’t far away.
