Championship Show 10th November 2024
As a longstanding member of the club it was a great pleasure to be invited to judge this very well run show. My thanks go to the Officers and committee and my very efficient stewards. Also, many thanks to the exhibitors and ringside for a wonderful atmosphere and gracious applause. I felt fronts, dentition and movement have improved since I last judged the breed and I was very happy with my challenge line ups. My open dog and bitch classes was particularly strong.
Unfortunately, oversized exhibits in both sexes were too numerous. Type, balance and quality was somewhat elusive. There were too many dogs with coarse heads showing very broad sculls. The height to length ratio was also an issue that gave lack of balance to some otherwise quality exhibits. More than a few bitches were very overweight with no muscle tone.
