German Wirehaired Pointer

Judge Results: Mrs C Morgan (Cwsscwn)

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this well run and friendly show and to the exhibitors for their support. I thoroughly enjoyed judging these GWPs and whilst the entry was not a big one the quality of the exhibits was terrific. It’s easy judging good dogs.

BOB 2239 - Kimmax Kiss Ma Blackside at Beechillawn (Mr P F & Mrs M Mccullough)

BP 2236 - Beechillawn Break The Mould (IKC) (Mr P & Mrs D & Mr S Lovatt & Lovatt & Gettings)

BV 2240 - Sh Ch/deu/vdh Ch Kimmax Kurious George Bs17/18 (Mr P F & Mrs M Mccullough)

1007. German Wirehaired Pointer - Puppy

Entries: 4 Absentees: 1

1ST 2236 - Beechillawn Break The Mould (IKC) (Mr P & Mrs D & Mr S Lovatt & Lovatt & Gettings). Very balanced and carrying a harsh coat. Handsome, well furnished head with expressive dark eyes, good in front with good length and return of upper arm. Nicely sprung ribs, firm, straight topline. Covers plenty of ground on the move and has terrific forward reach. BP.

2ND 2234 - Ijildez vom Holstef at Ovetil (Mr D Cox) A very nice example of the breed who presents a strong outline with a slightly falling topline and tail coming straight off. Just preferred the darker eye of the winner.

3RD 2233 - Ida vom Holstef at Ovetil (Mr D Cox) Litter sister to 2nd and very similar but lifted more in front movement movement.

1009. German Wirehaired Pointer - Post Graduate

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 2242 - Caldewriver Cold As Ice (Mr A, Mrs D & Miss K O'brien) Masculine and well balanced head with moderate stop and high set ears; would prefer a slightly darker eye under his bushy eyebrows. Strong neck, excellent front angulation with well boned legs placed well under his body. Plenty of heart and lung room, broad hips, well turned stifles and close knit feet. Carries a good coat. Effortless mover.

2ND 2232 - Hermione vom Holstef at Ovetil (Mr D Cox) Well boned and compact with good height to length ratio. Deep chest, firm back, good underline but didn’t have the turn of stifle of the winner.

3RD 2235 - Bareve Best by Magic (Miss M Hillis) Rangier than 1st & 2nd and not in such good coat but she is very well made and moved using her tail well. Superb temperament.

1010. German Wirehaired Pointer - Open

Entries: 4 Absentees: 0 This was a terrific class, all four are worthy winners.

1ST 2239 - Kimmax Kiss Ma Blackside at Beechillawn (Mr P F & Mrs M Mccullough) An impressive dog on the stack who is very well made and carries an excellent coat and furnishings. Masculine without coarseness, the most handsome head with dark oval shaped eyes, strong muzzle finished with a well developed nose, well placed ears. Strong neck fits cleanly into well laid shoulders, super depth and spring of rib, strong topline, tucked up loins and well developed and muscular quarters. He holds his shape on the move carrying his tail well and has the most precise footfall and powerful side gait. Fabulous temperament. BOB.

2ND 2243 - Kimmax Kallin Danny Boy over (Mrs J A Shepherd) He is in fabulous condition and so well muscled without being overdone. Loved his head and expression. Well ribbed up, firm loin, very well textured coat, not as tidy in front movement as the winner.

3RD 2237 - Ir Sh Ch Beechillawn Mint Chip Ir Jch Cjw22 Cent JW Cent W TAF (Mr P & Mrs D & Mr S Lovatt & Lovatt & Gettings). Excellent type with a very pretty head and kind eye, feminine with substance and style.

RES 2241 - Sh Ch Caldewriver Storm N' Teacup for Katillien JW (Miss K A O'brien) I liked this dog who is litter brother to the post grad winner. I just felt he needed a bit more spring of rib to complete the picture.

1ST 2240 - Sh Ch/deu/vdh Ch Kimmax Kurious George Bs17/18 (Mr P F & Mrs M Mccullough) A quality dog who commands attention on the stack. Fabulous head, strong neck, well placed shoulders, plenty of depth and wide powerful quarters. Moves on an easy stride.

2ND 2244 - Kimmax Klean Sweep (Mrs J A Shepherd) She is beautifully made and has such a well balanced and feminine head. Presents a stunning outline and moves with a smooth stride carrying her tail well.
