I thoroughly enjoyed my first time giving tickets in this breed having been involved with them for over 30 years. My stewards Angela Codling and Sue Lee were fantastic and helped to make the day so very enjoyable. Thank you to all those who entered under me and gave me a quality entry which led to some very close decisions.

Class 440 MPD NO ENTRIES

Class 441 PD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1096 WILCOX, Mrs K D Harvestslade Fire And Ice Through Merynjen. He is tall enough with plenty of bone and substance, has a good forehand and neat feet. I liked his balanced head, kind expression and fine ears. He has strength in neck, a good topline, wide quarters and well developed second thighs. Move well.

2nd: 1053 HENSHAW, Miss A S K & GOODCHILD, Mr J Berseydale Straight Flush With Peteshe Imp Mlt. I preferred the width of muzzle of the winner. Presents a good shape, well sprung ribs, just needs to come on. He clearly has a fabulous temperament; very happy lad.

Class 442 JD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1065 MARSH, Mrs Glynis Alozia Zealandia For Ratchda JW. Balanced head, fine ears with point. Good forechest but needs to drop in brisket, well ribbed back, wide thighs. Was the better mover of the two and had good tail carriage.

2nd: 1091 WEBSTER, Miss R Joneva Just Goes To Show At Errytar. I really liked this dog on the stack but he was chucking his front about all over the place on the move. He has a lovely head, a reachy neck, strong topline and good tail set. Get your act together boy and you’ll go far.

Class 443 YD (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1068 MARTIN, Mrs Ruth & MARTIN, Miss Rebecca Sunhouse I'll Be Black (a.i.). What a fidget but he held himself together long enough for me to see what a shapely and well made lad he is. He has a fabulous head and eye, well defined stop, dish and strong muzzle. Thin leathers with slightly pointed tips. He has a quality tail which he carries on a level with his back. Lovely springy pasterns; strong mover.

2nd: 1054 HILL, Miss V & HILL, Mrs A & HILL, Miss L Kanix Sourdough With Calaquendi Jw Be Jr Ch. He has slightly better width behind than the winner but was broader in skull. Plenty of forechest, clear stop, kind expression, great tail. Moved well.

3rd: 1056 ISHERWOOD, Mrs C A Wilchrimane Let's Be Frank

Class 444 GD (5 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1073 MENNEN, Miss Gloria & SWEENEY, Mr Neil Joneva Just Imagine JW. He had the best head in the class which was well balanced with a fabulous eye. Terrific ears with slight point to tips. Straight front, good oval bone with clearly visible back sinew. Lengthy pasterns with slight slope. Oval, well knit feet. Muscular quarters, well bent stifles and moved with a lashing tail.

2nd: 1056 ISHERWOOD, Mrs C A Wilchrimane Let's Be Frank. Broader in skull than the winner but presents a balanced picture of power and stamina. Good expanse of first and second thigh. Moved well.

3rd: 1044 BOWEN-BROOKS, Mrs J L Tenshilling Here I Go Again

Res: 1071 MCGRATH, Mrs W Teisgol Hot'n Sausey(av3)

Class 445 PGD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1047 COLLINS, Mr Derek Thomas & COLLINS, Mrs Jackie Collholme Balthasar. A decent dog who could use more length of neck and have better width behind. Masculine head with fine leathers set on fairly high, well defined stop. Good prosternum and well ribbed back. Moved steadily but lets himself down with his high tail carriage.

Class 446 LD (7 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1072 MENNEN, Miss Gloria & SWEENEY, Mr Neil Lundgarth Wild Yarrow. A very good dog who has plenty of substance and muscle but is still very elegant. Pronounced prosternum, well laid shoulders and return of upper arm, slightly sloping pasterns and tight arched feet. Carries a strong topline, well ribbed up, prominent haunch bones, firm loins. Uses his excellent quarters to propel him round the ring. Terrific tail carriage. Unlucky to come up against the open dogs.

2nd: 1032 ADAMS, Mrs L D Carofel Wings Of Hope Jw Ww23 Swiss Jr Ch. Doesn’t have the strength in neck of the winner but is well muscled and firm in body. Plenty of depth and heart room, tight oval feet. Good tail. Fine ears. Moved well.

Class 447 OD (6 Entries) Abs: 0.

This class was a joy to judge.

1st: 1077 ODDIE, Miss A Sh Ch Sharnphilly Boondoggle JW. He walked into the ring, looked round and said ‘Who’s second?’ (Figuratively speaking of course). He is a true aristocrat and commands attention both on the stack and on the move. He is a picture of strength, endurance and speed and truly is a series of graceful curves. He has the bone and substance required of a dog bred to range widely in pursuit of game and the conformation to ensure he can do this all day long. His head is refined with beautiful chiselling under his expressive eyes and it finishes with wide, soft nostrils to scent the game. He moves so easily on a long stride, driving from his well muscled quarters and has the most perfect tail action; a proper bee sting! I loved everything about him and was delighted to award him the CC and BOB.

2nd: 1038 BOND, Dr K Sh Ch Joneva Just My Style. Well he was just my style and unlucky to come up against the winner. He is a cracking dog full of breed type and has the balance, head, thin leathers, substance, bone and tail that are the mark of a well bred Pointer. I liked him very much indeed and could not deny him the RCC.

3rd: 1066 MARTIN, Mrs Ruth & MARTIN, Miss Rebecca Sunhouse You're Nicked. I must mention this stylish dog who impressed very much and put on a sterling performance. He is very well put together and full of quality.

Class 448 VD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1094 WELCH, Mrs S & HAZELTINE, Miss Connie Sh Ch Pytchley Chasing The Dream For Hookwood JW S. Two very good veterans here. I just preferred the winner in skull and return of upper arm. He picks up in front on the move but what a wonderful bee sting tail he has.

2nd: 1042 BOWEN-BROOKS, Mrs J L Tenshilling Blowin Smoke. He is slightly shallower in brisket, stands on good feet, has a lovely dish to his head and strong muzzle.

Class 449 SBD/B (6 Entries) Abs: 0

The dogs in this class had the best tail carriages of all.

1st: 1044 BOWEN-BROOKS, Mrs J L Tenshilling Here I Go Again. Plenty of substance on this boy and he is well muscled. Correct slightly sloping pasterns, wide quarters. Decent head, moved OK with good tail action. BSB.

2nd: 1048 COLLINS, Mr Derek Thomas & COLLINS, Mrs Jackie Collholme Angelique. Such a pretty head and a lovely expression in her dark eyes. Decent prosternum on her and wide thighs, moved well.

Class 450 MPB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1059 KENNEDY, Miss Sue Droveborough's Hells Bells. What an absolute sweetheart. Well balanced feminine head, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, super front, good ribs, wide quarters and presents a balanced curvy shape. She has lovely front movement and in the challenge for BPIB she was playing her handler up but one more look into those eyes and she had me. BPIB.

2nd: 1079 PERREN, Mrs Debbie Evaluna For Your Eyes Only At Mistin. Slightly longer cast than the winner but still very well made. Didn’t have the arched neck of the winner. Plenty of depth, strong quarters with good bend of stifle. Moved OK.

3rd: 1049 DIGHTON, Mrs Linda Evaluna Keep Your Eyes On Me

Class 451 PB (4 Entries) Abs: 2

2 decent puppies here.

1st: 1081 PREECE, Mrs Diana & GILDING, Mr Nicholas Harvestslade Star Ruby. She was in better body condition and moved better than second. Good length of upper arm, level back and correct tail set

2nd: 1085 RADCLIFFE, Mrs J Sniperay Suite Note. She presents a good shape and has an excellent front, just needs to body up.

Class 452 JB (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1031 ADAMS, Mr Kyle Joneva Just One Wish. This one really took my eye and I considered her for top honours. I liked her style and shape and she has plenty of bone and substance yet retains femininity and refinement. She has the prettiest of heads which is well balanced, chiselled and has strength in muzzle. Long muscular neck with elegant crest. Great length and return of upper arm, plenty of depth and wide quarters. What a mover she is and oh that tail!

2nd: 1051 HAZELTINE, Miss Connie Rose & RAZZELL, MRS CASSY Corotine Queen Bea. She is shorter in foreface and lacks the depth of muzzle of the winner but it is still very pleasing to look at. Excellent body properties with good front angulation and wide, powerful quarters.

2nd: 1045 CARDIFF, Miss Tina Freebreeze Pixar At Prosperity. A nice bitch with a very pretty head but a tad cut up underneath for my preference. Moved well.

3rd: 1098 WYNNE-EVANS, Mrs Pru Droveborough Frost Queen

Res: 1034 BARHAM, Mrs L Alozia Zephryne

Class 454 GB (5 Entries) Abs: 0

Class 456 LB (10 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 1093 WELCH, Mrs S & DRAKE, Mrs Janet & HAZELTINE, Miss Clamerkin Jubilee Surprise At Hookwood. She won this class on her superb movement; such reach and drive and that wonderful Pointer tail. Beautiful front movement. On the stack she flows from nose to tail and has wonderful front angulation placing her legs well under her body. Well turned stifles and well muscled thighs. All topped off with a beautiful head.

2nd: 1074 MOSS, Mr A D Davigdor Poppies. If this bitch could control her front movement she would go straight to the top. She has a wonderful outline and there is no mistaking her type. She is a quality exhibit with a well worked head, deep stop and a melting expression.

3rd: 1035 BASTIN, Miss Jane Wilchrimane Mint Julep To Jarobede

Res: 1076 NORBURY, Mrs Victoria & NORBURY, Mr Mateusz & ADAM Heartbury Northern Lights JW

VHC: 1058 KENNEDY, Miss Sue Droveborough's Enid Blyton

Class 457 OB (6 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1039 BOND, Dr K Joneva Azelia Banks JW. What a beauty! She is so curvy in shape; every part flows smoothly into the next. There is a phrase in the breed standard that says ‘neck springing cleanly from shoulders’ and this girl displays a classic example of just this. She is fabulously angulated in front with a long and good return of upper arm that places her legs well under her body giving plenty of dog in front. She has good ribbing, is short coupled and you can see her well spaced haunch bones. She covers plenty of ground on the move and has a smooth front action; her tail lashes all the way round the ring. All this, topped off with the loveliest of heads, cried out for the CC.

2nd: 1084 RADCLIFFE, Mrs J Sh Ch Sniperay Edge Of Glory JW. Very similar to the winner; just sightly finer throughout. She has tremendous forechest and depth and an excellent bend of stifle. Feminine and well balanced head with fine ears set fairly high and slightly pointed at the tips. A very worthy show champion who has a lovely sheen to her coat. RCC.

3rd: 1037 BLAIR, Mr Colin Twinhoe Crystal Vita..

Plenty of depth and well sprung ribs. Beautiful head with somewhat concave muzzle, fine ears. Strong topline. Moved very well. BVIB.

2nd: 1064 MACKAY, Mrs Maureen Elizabeth Sh Ch Federica Fanfare At Woodglade. This girl did herself no favours on the stack today but boy can she move! She covers so much ground and has a terrific bee sting tail. Lovely sheen to her coat.
