Breed: Hovawart

I really enjoyed judging this breed, the exhibitors were supportive, encouraging and so friendly with each other, they were a real breath of fresh air, thank you for bringing your dogs under me today.

SBD/B 1(0)

1. Johnson’s Pines Bridge. 2 year old feminine bitch, good markings throughout, balanced skull, oval brown eye, good bone and feet, nicely angulated front and rear, a little erratic on the move but presented in excellent coat and condition, BSpB.

PD 1(0)

1. McClure’s Pines Mansion at Kanukalos. 7 months old, promising young male with good markings throughout, lovely masculine head and expression with dark eye, good skull and muzzle, sound body proportions throughout, he was nicely angulated with a strong level top-line, well muscled in the rear, he moved out well when he settled into his stride, presented in immaculate coat and condition, BP.

OD 2(0)

1. Foakes’ Hightimbers Oaks of Tutelary. 2½ year old male, masculine head and expression with dark eye and good pigment, balanced skull and well set ears, soundly made in front and rear with strong neck, liked his proportions, he was balanced standing and moving, in lovely coat and condition, BD.

2. Edwards Hightimbers Walnut. Litter brother to 1st and he had many similar qualities, masculine head and expression, good angulation but I preferred the shoulder of 1st, at times he tended to lose his top-line when standing which spoilt his shape but I liked his overall proportions, moved out soundly, RBD.

OB 1(0)

1. McClure’s Hightimbers Ticket To Dream at Kanukalos. Well presented 4 year old bitch of nice quality, correct markings, feminine head with balance, good stop, oval dark eye, coat a little dry and she would benefit from losing a little weight, excellent top-line and lovely angulation front and rear, she moved out freely, RBB.

VB 1(0)

1. McClure’s Kanukalos Burletta. This was a really lovely example of the breed, 9 years old and I loved everything about her, lovely feminine head with well set ears and correct stop, good eye, good length of neck into a pleasing front assembly, well ribbed back, she had good bone and feet, excellent top-line and angles, didn’t put a foot wrong on the move, presented in lovely condition, she was well muscled and fit, BB, BV & BOB.
