Welsh Kennel Club

Breed: Bearded Collie

Many thanks to the Secretary and his committee for the invitation to judge at this show in such a beautiful venue, my appreciation extended to the exhibitors for their lovely entries. There were many that left the classes without a card but ‘it’s the dog on the day’ and I was splitting many hairs in many classes making some difficult decisions. Short tails concerned me in this breed as it’s not something I have encountered before and one in particular that had a severe ‘kink’ in the tail. Dirty teeth are my pet hate and there were many, it’s an easy part of the grooming routine to keep on top of this easy task. That said, I was pleased with my overall winners and enjoyed my day. Last but not least many thanks to my two stewards Kay and Angie.

Burfitt’s Ramsgrove Coruscation for Breaksea. 7 year old slate veteran, I liked his lovely broad head and kind eye, excellent pigment, he had a strong neck leading into well laid shoulders, good depth and length of rib, sound body proportions, not as settled in his movement today but presented in excellent coat and condition.

Slate boy of 17 months, another nicely balanced boy, kind head and expression but not as strong in foreface as 1st, he was nicely angulated front and rear with good depth, well ribbed with short strong loin, sound and free in his movement and presented in excellent condition, made a nice outline both standing and moving.
