Eastern Counties Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 46th Breed Championship Show 13th April 2024 Judge: Miss C. Gurtner First, I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge at this 46th Breed Championship Show. A special “thank you” too to my 3 stewarts who did such an amazing job all day to make things running smoothly. Thanks too to the exhibitors who gave me a chance to judge their dogs. But an advice for quite some of them, please refrain to give any food to your dog while on the table. It distracts its attention and makes it more difficult to assess for the judge. I also noticed that the tricolour Cavaliers are in danger of losing their nicely broken body marking and head white blaze which are the breed standard. Quite some of them were too blanket black. Baby Puppy Bitch (6,2): 1- Stanton’s ELLEMICH BUTTERFLY CHASER AT CASSANDY : Very promising tricolour baby bitch with a feminine head, moves well with confidence – Best Baby Puppy Bitch 2- Willis Mrs & Mr’s DINITRO’S MADELEINE : another very promising baby bitch, very well marked, moves well. 3- Nolan’s JERNITO WINTER ROBYN Veteran Bitch (4,1): 1- Loades’ ROSIRIUS BLUEBELL : 7 years old Blenheim, feminine head, excellent construction, short coupled body, in excellent coat, moves very well both ways, excellent temperament. 2- Potter’s TOYSWOOD BLACKSTAR : 7 years old black & tan, pretty head with a flat skull, lovely tan markings, a touch long in body, excellent quarters, presented in a nice coat, moves well. 3- Dawson’s LUPHENEX LITTLE LADY KATIE Special Veteran (10 years & over) Bitch (3,1): 1- Loades’ ROSIRIUS CLOVER : 12 ½ years old Blenheim bitch in an excellent condition for her age, feminine head, dark eye, excellent shape of body, moves very well wagging her tail, very happy old girl – Best Veteran Bitch. 2- Colevecchia’s CAROLUS MISS LIBERTY VW : 10 years old Blenheim bitch, pretty head, I would have liked a touch darker eyes, good shape of body, well marked coat, moves ok & happily. Minor Puppy Bitch (15,3): 1- Sedgbeer Mr & Mrs’ RUSSMIC OLIVIA ROSE : Ruby girl, pretty feminine head, lovely eyes, nice flat skull, short coupled body, she is still in her puppy coat, dark colour, moves very well with drive – Best Puppy Bitch – Best Puppy in Show 2- Spall Mr & Clark Mr’s BEVELMOUNT NANETTE BY LLAPSTTAM : Black & tan bitch, excellent head shape with a flat skull, excellent tan markings, nice body construction, good quarters, in good coat, moves well. 3- Brewer Mrs & Moody Mrs’ BOWFORT DAY DREAM EXPRESS Puppy Bitch (10,1): 1- Colavecchia’s CAROLUS CAMILLA : Blenheim bitch, pretty feminine head topped with a spot, dark eyes, good shape of body, excellent angulations, nice tailset, lovely coat & markings, moves well with happy temperament. 2- Atkins Mr& Mrs’ LACERTA LUISA : Blenheim girl on a smaller size but feminine head, nice earset, good body & quarters, tailset ok, lovely coat, moves well & happily. 3- Potter’s TOYSWOOD MODERN LOVE Junior Bitch (10,1): 1- Hogan’s ARROWBIEN HELLO KITTY AT STAVONGA : Blenheim with a feminine head & expression, lovely earset, dark eyes, lovely ear feathering, excellent shape of body, tailset a touch low, in gorgeous coat, moves well both ways & happily. 2- Richardson’s KRINGLEHOLME CAPRICE : Blenheim on a smaller size than nr 1, feminine head with dark eyes, excellent construction, nice coat, could be a touch happier on the move but was better at the end. 3- McGill’s MILBU JUST HARMONY AT BJULASETA Yearling Bitch (6,0): 1- Robb Mr, Robb Mrs, Chapman Mrs & Ireland Miss’ ELLEMICH GOOD TROUBLE AT GLENIREN : Blenheim bitch with a very feminine pretty head, dark eyes, flat skull, excellent earset, dark pigmentation, lovely ear feathering, excellent construction of body, excellent tailset, showed in excellent coat condition, moves truly both ways, very happy temperament.
