 I would like to thank SWKA on giving me my 1st CC appointment in Spinones Thank You to my stewards Pat Lepley and Pat Lewis in stewarding for me so efficiently. Taking into consideration the show is on a Thursday and the geographical position of the venue; I was pleased with the entries in all my breeds.

 Italian Spinone

It’s been 30 years since I started judging this lovely breed and have followed the development of them throughout that period. I was delighted to find that my BOB and both my Reserve CCS winners all shared the same mother (the res ccs winners were litter mates.)

1 Rossiter’s Inostricani Heritage

12-month-old robust young dog who is very typical of this kennel, orange roan with strong oval bone and a good rough coat. His head has divergent head planes and ears set level with eyes which were wide apart and has tight fitting eyelids. Short neck and high set withers leading onto gentle angulating topline. Broad slightly sloping croup leading onto a correct low tail set. Good bend of stifle and large front feet with well arched toes. moved out on a free relaxed stride. One to watch for the future.

1} Smith’s Jaylynne Luther

 4 yr old orange, white boy of good substance. Handsome Head with strong slightly arched neck, Good angulations fore and aft, top line needs to have better undulation . His hips were broad and broad hips and slight slope on the croup. Forelegs have plenty of oval bone and well defined tendons, large front feet . Moved out well on a steady trot.

1Smith’s Sosteli Saxon

Brown /roan dog of a decent shape, good depth of muzzle and skull has divergent head planes. Large melting eyes set well apart giving that almost human expression, pendular ears and a large spongy nose. Straight strong forelegs with oval bone. Square proportions and prominent breastbone. Fairly high withers with slight dip in topline leading to a slight rise towards hips going down with a slight drop to tail set. Moved on a steady stride

2 Hinton’s Inostricani on a Mission

Another nice boy from this kennel, who is also out of the same bitch as my BOB, orange and white strong median line to occiput and good stop Strong neck and well laid shoulders which were strong and well-muscled. Large front feet with well arched toes, good turn of stifle, broad croup which was slightly sloped towards tail set. Preferred the overall proportions of 1

1 Knowles/Glen Sh Ch Bessalone Peaky Blinders

5 yr old white boy with a beautiful human like expression. Skull has divergent head planes. with large open almost round eyes and close-fitting eyelids. Large spongy nose and pendulous ears set level with eyes. Strong jawline and powerful well-muscled neck, which was short, falling into high withers. Well laid shoulders with blades set well apart, Close-fitting elbows and straight oval boned forelegs. Slightly sloping topline down from withers rising to broad rump and leading down to a correct tail set. Well bent stifle and muscular thighs. Chest was well sprung and deep. With slight tuck up. Long muscular thighs and correct course coat. Moved out on a relaxed trot keeping his correct topline.

2 Littlemore’s Sh Ch Inostricani Bell Ragazzo Via Krismooor JW

Orange and white boy who I have admired for a long time and have given him a BOB at an open show when he was younger. Classic Spinone head with divergent head planes, strong neck and correct ear set. Stright front with prominent breastbone and straight forelegs. Well off for bone, close fitting elbows and slightly sloping pasterns and well-muscled hindquarters .Coat was coarse and of correct length. Moved out on a free trot. Another excellent example of the breed and can see why he was made up at a young age. And am sure he will get another few CC’s Was such a difficult decision between 1 and 2 so made no hesitation in giving him the RCC

8 yr old white/orange bitch who has stayed in excellent condition. Feminine head with a soft human expression. Strong Jaws which I’m sure she still picks game up all day.

Long Good shoulders with long shoulder blades and prominent sternum Well barrelled ribcage and broad hips. Low set tail, good wiry jacket moved on a steady trot. Bet she still causes havoc at home Best Veteran.

Brown roan 17-month girl with good furnishings, wiry jacket Correct divergent head planes and good shoulder placement. Broad chest and straight forelegs of oval bone. Moved out with a relaxed trot.

Litter sister to my Res dog CC winner with the same attributes except she is as feminine as he is masculine. Beautiful feminine head with the correct head planes. Well defined median line down the centre of the skull ending in a large spongy nose. Large almost round eyes and lobular ears., ears set level with the eyes. Short neck and High withers going onto well laid shoulders. Strong oval bone with straight forelegs and well arched feet. Almost square in outline with broad hips. Well sprung ribs. Broad straight hocks which she used to move out on a free and easy style. Please to award her the RCC.

2 Lewsey’s Limoncello Sunrise at Estover Neidzwiedziej Jamy (imp Ita)

Not the substance of 1 but still a lovely bitch. Feminine head with short neck Slightly longer cast than 1. But altogether still a very nice bitch but 1 fitted the breed standard better.

 2.5 yr old bitch with good substance. Feminine head and almost round eyes giving a pretty soft expression Strong muscled neck with well laid shoulders. , good depth fore chest and straight forelegs. Well balanced with short body, we’ll let down hocks Moved out on a steady gait.

Brown roan bitch of good breed type correct head planes and sufficient eyebrows to give a true spinone expression. Close fitting eyelids and good shoulder placement with broad hips, well let down hocks Preferred the topline of 1

Talk about saving the best til last, this is most certainly the case with this fabulous bitch. I have loved her since she was a youngster when I gave her a group at an open show. Now matured into just the Spinone I thought she would become. And is almost a perfect example of the breed. with beautiful feminine head and eyes that talk to you. triangular ears that are set level with eyes and short strong neck wit no dewlap. Square set body and shoulders sloping well back onto the correct topline and low tail set. Strong oval bone and straight front. Large round feet with well arched toes. Dense course white/orange coat, moved out on an effortless fast trot. Pleased to award her the CC and BOB>

Well-deserved Champion who was unlucky to meet 1 today. She has the correct wiry coat, and she has a lot of breed type and features going for her, but I preferred the overall shape of my BOB.

11 Month old chestnut and white boy who stood alone but was so impressive he could not be denied BOB, BD and BP Long angular Skull with lean cheek bones and prominent occiput. Deep muzzle and a large spongy nose , soft expression , oval eyes with close fitting eyelids giving a soft expression. Supple folded ears with rounded tips. Powerful short neck and strong long shoulders with well separated shoulder blades. Straight front legs of good oval bone, correct topline with broad chest and prominent sternum, wide loin , topline rising slightly to hip bones Good bend of stifle and well-let down hocks. Tight oval well arched feet, Moved out on an extended trot. will become a stallion of a dog, when he matures up.

Orange /white dog with good foreface and good close lying ears, set level with eyes. Good depth of muzzle, strong neck and long shoulder blades, straight forelegs of oval bone. With almost square body measurements. Deep chest and moderate tuck up with moderate hind angulation. Moved out straight and true.

Good head with prominent occiput and visible median line down foreface and cheeks well, chiselled. Straight front and legs preferred the hind angulation of 1. Moved steadily

2 Pearson’s Kelevra Bachustabbio

Orange/white by of good substance. Correct divergent head planes and long angular head with good width of foreface. Strong neck and high withers and gentle undulating topline. Well angulated stifle and straight hocks did not move as well as 1.

9-Month-old orange and white baby, Nice shape with feminine head with a prominent occiput with slight stop to her foreface, Short neck with high withers. Slight slope to topline and broad hips and correct tail set. Straight front legs with oval bone. Good hind angulation. Still very much a baby. RBB

Medium amber and white bitch with a feminine head and oval eyes giving a soft expression, moderate length of back and good depth of chest. Good hind angulation and correct tail set. Did not move out as well as 1.

5 yr old Chestnut and white bitch, gentle expression with a spongy nose, ears set on line with eyes, good lay of shoulder with a straight front. Topline not her fortune today but maybe due to her pregnancy. Giving her a dropped undercarriage. Well angulated at the rear and she has broad hips with a good tail set. Coat in good condition

Impressive bitch with a typical Bracco head. Long median line with good chiselling on cheeks under eyes. Good depth of flew and a large spongy nose. Well defined withers. straight forelegs of oval bone with slightly sloping pasterns. Good depth of chest reaching to her elbows Broad hips and tail set following the croup line. Moved out with drive on a fast trot. Well-handled to take BB however lost out to Dog as she did not have quite the substance that he had.

3 yr old liver boy with well balanced head and prominent occiput, moderate stop, good chiselling under the eyes which were the correct almond shape. Low set ears and a good length of neck. Going into well laid-back shoulders. Deep chest and moderate spring of rib moderate stifles nice tight round feet. coat silky but requires a bit more grooming, Moved well.

Mature liver 2 yr old with plenty of substance, head of noble appearance with a moderate stop , well developed nostrils. Low ear set which are moderately long, with good feathering. Excellent chiselling under eyes. His neck is long and clean going to well laid-back shoulders. Moderate leg length with flat bone. Well-developed chest with moderately sprung ribs reaching 2/3rds of the way back to short loin. strong muscular back and topline. Moderate bend of stifle. With well let down hocks. Medium tight feet with strong pads. Low set tail with sufficient feathering moved out n a long 2 stride. coat in perfect silky condition. Sure he will get made up. Pleased to award him BD and BOB,

2 Gallen’s SH CH Woodsong Pleiades (imp Fra)

Worthy champion with correct head planes and sufficient chiselling under eyes giving a noble expression. Long pendular ears with a good lay of shoulder. Level topline, deep chest excellent feathering on body, silky coat, unlucky to meet 1 in such good form

What an exciting prospect this puppy is. Beautiful head with well chiselled foreface and moderate stop. Long wide ears set level with eyes. Superb length of neck and well laid shoulder, chest yet to drop, light feathering on forelegs, tight round feet , good length of back with ribs covering 2/3rds of it, correct tail set. Good hind angulation and low set hocks. Moved out on a long driving stride coat Glossy and straight. Sure she will get made up. BB

2 yr old bitch who has a lot of potential, noble head with a well-developed occiput and moderate stop. Almost almond shaped eyes, moderately long ears, well laid shoulders and good depth of chest with straight front. Fairly moderate hind angulation with tight round feet. Lacking in feathering at present but am sure it will come.

2 Harnett’s Bedeswell Sweet Serendipity

Black bitch with classic head and good chiselling. Would prefer it bit more length of neck, well laid shoulders and straight front legs. Level topline with moderate hind angulation. She did not move as positively as 1.

 Veteran Bitch who is an old favourite of mine No sign of her age as she is still in tip top condition. Feminine classic head with correct foreface chiselling.
