BRITTANY CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW (SHOW 2) 13.07.2024
Thanks to the Brittany Club for their kind invitation to judge this Championship Show and to the exhibitors who entered under me. I was delighted with my quality entry bearing in mind that many Rochus dogs could not enter. I was looking for a compact dog on a solid but not weighty frame with a lively intelligent expression and the upward movement of the base of the ears giving rise to the true “Brittany Expression”
MPD/B (2, 0) 1 Molton’s Jayricnbrits Unctious at Braebrits, almost 9 months old o/w puppy with appealing head, moderate stop, dark eye and high set ears, built on a solid frame carrying a little extra weight particularly on shoulders, lovely straight front, chest deep & well rounded ribcage, short back and close coupled, correct moderate angulations. Moved well on compact feet. 2 Cutler’s Jayricnbrits Undercover, b/w litter sister to 1, not as mature as her sister and built on a lighter frame but nevertheless a lovely square puppy, with pretty head of 3:2 proportions, correct depth of brisket to leg length, moderate bone and angulations, stands well over her ground, balanced in profile. Moved erratically but one to watch.
PD (4, 0) 1 Cutler’s Jayricnbrits Uncle Jake, almost 9 months old b/w litter brother to both MP’s, lovely head of correct proportions with dark eye, soft frank expression and high set ears, straight front, medium length of neck set well into shoulder, foreleg length is slightly greater than depth of chest, short coupled, correct moderate bend of stifle with hock in line with buttock. Clipped gait showing little rear extension. BPD & BPIS 2 Bruce’s Patouche Utrillo, just 9 months old o/w puppy with lovely Breton head, high set ears and a dark kind eye, muzzle tapered but not snipy, moderate shoulder angulation, chest still to drop to elbows, excellent bone, strong loin, broad muscular thighs, tight compact feet, unsettled on the move but he is new to this game. 3 Molton’s Jayricnbrits Uther at Braebrits.
JD (6, 2) 1 Nicholls Minama Unforgettable at Stonesview (IKC), 1 year o/w, excellent head with toplines of skull and muzzle parallel and median line slightly defined, tight lips, high set ears, moderate stop, excellent front and rear angulations with hocks in line with buttocks, not as deep in brisket as my No. 2 or as short in loin but he scored in head. Sound movement. 2 Drozdova’s Maliik Team Del Crepo (IMP SRB), 13 months o/w, short high set ears, expressive dark eyes, skull a little heavy, very cobby with deep brisket, shoulders muscular and moderately sloping, excellent topline, short strong loin, broad thighs, moved well on compact feet, preferred head of 1. 3 Cutler’s Jayricnbrits Uptown Beat.
