I was honoured to have won the NGA ballot for the breed and then to be able to judge some exceptional bitches. Top winners were all presented in excellent coat and condition and overall I still had clean hands after finishing. In the years since I judged the breed last, it’s pleasing to see that balance and quality has certainly improved in many areas of construction. Rear movement and toplines held are less variable. Hardly any incorrect tail carriages. I had some difficult decisions in many classes. Thank you to the exhibitors for entering under me.

Just into Veteran. Balanced throughout. Carrying the correct weight for her frame. Soft feminine expression and good head proportions. Correct reach of neck onto a level topline and tailset. Straight front with tight elbows. Excellent angulation front and rear which allowed this bitch in full coat to move out with great front extension and rear drive

 Very close up to No1’s attributes. Well put together with good overall balance. Lovely head. ust a little shorter in neck. Level topline and correct tailset, Short coupled Well turned stifle, moved out with drive

 Cream bitch just into MP and a little apprehensive of the occasion, so movement was erratic, but stood still long enough to ascertain she is beautifully and correctly constructed throughout. Feminine head, good reach of neck, level topline, correct tail set. Excellent angulation. Short coupled. Well boned for age. Promising future.

2ND 1143 - Dewmist Dolce Vita with Catnnels (Mr M & Miss K Wheeldon & Hurry)

Another close up to winner, moved well. Feminine expression and good head shape and pigment. Slightly longer in frame but short coupled and balanced throughout. Excellent front angulation, slightly less rear angulation than No1.

10 month old girl, slightly longer in neck than winner. Feminine head with the soft expression, good pigmentation. Overall balance. Good layback of shoulders and straight in front. Moved well.

Full of quality, balanced, in lovely blond coat and condition. Lovely feminine head. Good length of neck flows into level topline and correct tail carriage. Well laid back shoulders and good rear angulation. Straight front, Super solid movement

2ND 1024 - Thornywait Royal Design at Meiepere (Mrs M Fosdike)

Another super youngster from this kennel. Pale gold coat. Head shape still needs to develop but lovely expression. Good reach of neck, excellent front angulation with well laid shoulders and length of upper arm. Neck flows into level topline and correct tailset. Sound mover with plenty of rear drive. Nicely balanced throughout.

1ST 1026 - Carolake X'marks The Spot JW (Mrs P D Gayler)

 Won the class with her smooth positive movement. At one with her owner and beautifully presented in full pale golden coat. Excellent balance and outline overall, no exaggerations. Lovely head proportions with soft expression. Well boned, level topline, excellent angulation front and rear with allowed the free flowing easy movement from strong hocks.

2ND 1115 - Ambersun Passione of Odarla JW (Mrs M Rodgers)

Slightly longer framed bitch but still with a balanced outline and she moved freely with drive. Lovely head and expression, Reach of neck flows into level topline and correct tail carriage. Well laid shoulders and correct length upper arm, balanced by good rear angulation. Could probably change place with the winner on another occasion.

Challenged the winner of the class for constructional attributes, but found her a little soft in the pastern on the move on the day. Nice type of Golden bitch. Good head and expression, reach of neck flows into level topline and correct tailset. Excellent angulation front and rear. Moved with drive. But came into her own as maturity showed in the next class with younger exhibits.

 Another lovely well presented bitch in full coat from this kennel. Stood four-square with perfect balance. Correctly proportioned head and muzzle and soft expression, flow of neck into strong, level topline. Absolutely textbook fore and aft angulation. Moved with positive drive from short strong hocks.

 This mid-gold bitch caught my eye as she entered the ring. Typical breed type with four-square balance. Lovely head and gentle expression. Good and strong length of neck flowed in level topline. Overall balance showed excellent angulation both ends. Moved well with solid drive. RES BITCH CC.

Very close up and similar to winner, slight longer in frame but still balanced overall. Lovely feminine balanced head and expression. Strong neck flows into level topline. Deep chested and well ribbed back with short loin. Moved well with easy stride and drive.

 Blond. A little heavier in weight than winner on the day which may have affected her movement. Similar attributes for overall body construction to winner. Feminine head, level topline, balanced angulation.

Caught my eye for her type, overall proportions, balance and construction. Free stood, four-square with a waggy tail, in tune with her handler. In full beautiful cream with hint of gold coat. Lovely head and expression. Excellent head carriage and length of neck into level topline. Outstanding fore and aft construction, which allowed exceptionally sound movement around the ring. Bitch CC.

2ND 1068 - Kulawand Sky with Diamonds (Mr & Mrs R S & Mrs P Lane & Lane-Ridyard)

Slightly longer in the loin than winner, but still with a quality well-balanced outline. Unlucky to be up against the winner today. Lovely head and expression, neck flows into a level topline. Good angulation front and rear.

 Heavier dark gold bitch, not in her best coat. Balanced outline. Good head shape, length of neck into level topline. Reasonable rear angulation. Moved with drive.
