I would like to thank the society for the kind invitation to judge my breed, Weimaraners for the first time awarding CC’s. It was a fabulous day and I enjoyed every second of it despite the weather. The decision was made to keep all exhibits outside and utilise the lovely big ring so that every exhibit had the same opportunity to demonstrate movement. Thank you to all the exhibitors for your support and for giving me such a fantastic entry which was really appreciated. There were very few absentees on the day which led to some large classes particularly in the higher classes, where I was absolutely spoilt for choice. Many thanks to my lovely steward for all your help and keeping me and the ring in such good order. The day just got better and better and I was delighted to see my Best of Breed win the Gundog group and then be awarded Reserve Best in Show and my Best Puppy win the Gundog Puppy group. Huge congratulations to you both for doing the breed proud in the group rings.

1ST 3251 - Braefell Blackthorn (Mr M A & Miss D L Sayer & Wallwork)
A pleasing young eight month old boy who is moderate throughout. He is of good size and breed type with good forequarters, good outline and is a lovely colour. Correct level topline, correct tailset, and good hindquarters which he used to his advantage. Moved well for a youngster.
2ND 3195 - Gunalt Roger That (ai) (Messrs D R & G A Alcorn & Ingram)
Another promising seven month old puppy of good proportions and balance. I preferred his pigment than 1 but his head still needs to develop. He has a good length of back and in profile he is a lovely shape. He has good forequarters and balanced rear angulation and moved well. A bigger boy throughout and just needs more time to fill his frame but will finish well. Gave his handler a hard time today but did make me smile with his antics.

He epitomises the breed and is totally balanced with strong bone and substance with great body proportions. Lovely head with correct flew and good ear length. He has a lovely correct length and depth and displays a clean outline and is the best of shapes. He has an excellent front and strong rear well balanced angulation. that he uses to full advantage on the move whilst holding his topline. He is sound throughout and one that has a very promising future. RCC
2ND 3222 - Gunalt Schweppes at Caleydene JW (Mrs J L Isherwood)
A medium sized elegant, well constructed boy who is moderate throughout with nothing overdone. He has a good masculine head with good expression, clean neck into well laid shoulders and is well put together with good tail set. He is balanced front and rear and was presented in good condition. I liked him for his size without any coarseness yet still masculine. He is sound on the move and was well handled. Close up to 1 but just preferred the overall balance and proportions of 1 and would prefer him to be slightly longer in the back just to complete the picture.
