Devon, Cornwall and South West Beagle Society Championship Show 5th May 2024
Thank you to the committee for this lovely appointment, and thank you for looking after me and Ann Phillips all day. Thank you to my stewards for keeping me in check and thank you so much to the exhibitors for the privilege to go over your Hounds.
Overall the quality of dogs was good, I am finding male dogs a little coarse in head and some very short in body - I do not mean compact but short in back and loin. There were a couple of questionable mouths. The depth of quality was much more in the bitches where I was truly spoilt for choice when it came to top honours. I could’ve given several CC’s today in my main winners in bitches, thank you for making it a difficult choice.
There are also some lovely quality youngsters coming through in both sexes and I will watch them with interest.
