Windsor Championship Dog Show 30th June 2024 – Pomeranian

My sincere thanks to Windsor Championship Dog Show for this appointment and to the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge such a lovely entry. Thank you also to Pat and Barbara for stewarding so efficiently. Overall, I found dogs to be stronger than bitches. I did find head type to be quite diverse, and I would like to see an improvement in hind movement. The majority were well presented with the correct coat texture and in excellent condition. I was delighted with my final placings splitting hairs on many occasions.

Veteran (1,0)

1st Mrs E & Mrs N Chilton & Davey Ch Sixth Sense Hankey Bannister by Klassna (Imp Ukr). Impressive male. Super head and expression. Short neck onto well placed shoulders, well ribbed, compact body, good depth of chest, tail straight and well placed. In excellent coat and condition. Moved soundly, keeping a pleasing shape at all times. BVIB

Minor Puppy Dog (6,1)

1st Miss P S & Mr N D'arcy & Duffield Altina's Kentucky at Paavali. This youngster has a super expression, good dentition, correct eye, dark pigment, neat well-set ears. Fine boned, short neck into well placed shoulders. Short and compact in body with an excellent coat for age. Straight tail carried well. Super temperament, well-presented and moved soundly.

2nd Mrs W M & Mr A Jones Mariajon's Dare Devil. Another quality youngster with lots to like. Slightly stronger in muzzle and foreface than 1. Compact body, in good coat for age, straight tail carried well. Moved soundly and showed well.

Puppy Dog (1,0)

1st A M Cawthera-Purdy Lireva's Wild and Wonderful. This youngster showed his socks off, always keeping his shape. Good dentition with a pleasing expression. Fine boned, short neck into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest, short back, compact body with a straight tail that is set high and a good plume. In super coat of correct texture. Moved sound and true.

Junior Dog (5,0)

1st Ms S Smith Sueacres Centre Stage. Impressive youngster of nearly 12 mths. Well balanced in head, dark sparkling eye giving an intelligent expression. Correct dentition. Short neck into well placed shoulders. Fine boned, well ribbed, good depth of chest, short back, compact body. High set straight tail with a super plume. He showed non-stop and kept his shape at all times, in super coat and condition, this with his sound free movement completed the picture. Delighted to award him the DCC, BOB & BPIB and then to see him shortlisted in the very strong Toy Group.

2nd Mrs K & Mr N & Miss K P French. Norvanik Gold Smith at Bincombefarm JW. Another quality dog with pleasing head and expression. Good eye, dark pigment and neat well-set ears. Good rib, short back and compact body. In good coat of correct texture. Tail straight, set high, carrying a good plume. Moved soundly but lacked that extra sparkle.

Yearling Dog (5,1)

1st Miss M Firth Pommelchi Aston Martin. This boy had a pleasing head and expression. Compact body, tail carried well and in good coat. A tad unsettled on the move.

2nd Mrs Slough Lilrosa’s Ride of Your Life. More masculine in head than 1. Good mouth and dark pigment. Well ribbed and compact body. Moved ok.

Post Graduate Dog (6,1)

1st Mrs L & Mr J Ellen Klassna Magic Touch. Super head and expression. Neat well-set ears. Short neck into well laid shoulders, well ribbed, compact body. In super coat, tail well set. Kept his shape at all times presenting an attractive profile. Moved well.

2nd Mr L & Mrs N Gooch Lireva’s Well Fancy That for Cassibawn JW. Pleasing head and expression. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Compact body. Tail well set, in super coat of correct texture. Whilst he kept his shape at all times and stood four square, 1 was more settled on the move.

3rd Miss M Firth Altina's Samson

Limit Dog (6,0)

1st Mrs T K Berrington Altina's The Bronx at Sarasate . This super boy of correct size commanded attention. Such an intelligent expression with those expressive eyes. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Fine boned. Well ribbed, good depth of chest, short back, compact body, straight tail high set with a full plume. His correct angulation allowed him to move around the ring showing off his super movement, very much brisk and buoyant. An absolute picture in profile. Very close decision in the challenge and really splitting hairs, delighted to award him the RDCC.

2nd Mr J A Mogro Trenarwyn Walkin' On Fire Jch. Another striking male who made his presence felt. Super head properties, correct eye, neat well-set ears. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Well ribbed with a good depth of chest, short and compact in body. In excellent coat, straight tail set well. He just needs to settle in hind movement to complete the picture. Stood true and produced a super profile.

3rd Mr C & Misses M & M Hills Sharhazlah Luvs A Dare Devil

Open Dog (10,1)

1st Mrs C D Holman Ch Altina's Henry Higgins JW. Have judged this male before and he didn’t disappoint as a mature adult. Correct dentition, appealing head proportions giving the required expression. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Well ribbed, short and compact body. Correct coat and tail well set. Moved sound and true. Produced a super picture in profile.

2nd A M Cawthera-Purdy Ch Lireva's The Power and Glory. Very smart male with correct expression. Good dentition, dark pigment, neat well-set ears. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Fine boned. Short and compact in body with good depth of chest. Correct tail set. In super coat and condition. Produced an eye-catching picture in profile, just a tad untidy moving away.

3rd Miss M Hills Love of My Life at Travillon

Special Beginners (6,2)

1st Miss L Cregg Lireva’s Magical Dream. Very attractive Minor Puppy dog. Correct head properties, short and compact in body. Correct coat for age. Much more settled in this class, he got his act together, moved well and with purpose. BSPBIS

2nd Miss L Cregg Edkbangels Zennia. Dual purpose bitch. A pleasing expression and correct dentition. Very attentive to handler and well presented. Moved soundly.

3rd Miss F Wilkins Klassna Sweet Baby Bear

1st Mrs C D Holman Altina's Arizona. This young bitch had a super head and expression, correct dentition, neat well-set ears. Short neck into well laid shoulders, fine boned. Good size for age and in lovely coat. Just needs a tad more confidence to complete the picture, moved sound and true.

2nd A M Cawthera-Purdy Lireva's When Stars Collide. Another promising youngster. A pleasing head and expression, good dentition, neat well-set ears. Short neck into well-laid shoulders. Short and compact in body and carried her tail well. Needs to settle in movement but that will come with maturity.

3rd Mrs G Hull-Greaves Norvanik Tantalizer

1st Mrs J & Mrs A Pike & Carter Breezelyn Ginnovation. This young lady was on the tip of her toes and produced a sparkling expression. Good dentition, neat well-set ears. Short neck into well-laid shoulders. Lovely size and in good coat for age. Very enthusiastic on the move.

2nd Miss J Ngai Yoshipom Eager to Please. A pleasing expression with neat ear. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Short and compact in body. Would prefer a firmer tail set. Moved well.

1st Mr L & Mrs N Gooch Paavali’s Private Dancer at Cassibawn JW. Slightly strong in muzzle and foreface but nonetheless a pleasing expression. Good dentition. Neat well-set ears. Short neck into well-laid shoulders. Good rib, short and compact in body. In super coat and excellent condition. Tail set high and good plume. Moved soundly.

2nd Ms S Smith Lireva’s Just On A Flutter. More feminine in head than 1. Good dentition, dark expressive eye. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Compact body. In super coat and tail well set. A well-balanced bitch, just preferred the more positive movement of 1.

3rd Miss J Ngai Yoshipom Destiny Calls Be Jch Mjw-23 Ejw-23 Djw-23

Post Graduate Bitch (4,0)

1st Mrs J & Mrs A Pike & Carter Mi Misuzi's Flower Power for Breezelyn (Imp Nor). A pleasing head and expression, good dentition, dark pigment. Short neck into well placed shoulders. Well ribbed. Short and compact body. Tail well set. Moved well.

2nd Mrs A J Bailey Craigivar Black Bramble. Another with an attractive expression and correct head properties. Dainty and fine boned. Short back, tail carried well. Not the coat of 1, unsettled on the move.

3rd Miss L J Cregg Edkbangels Zennia

Limit Bitch (5,1)

1st Mrs C & Miss A & Miss E Moores Klassna Tell Me More with Chibaya. Eye catching bitch with such pleasing head properties, so well balanced with an intelligent expression. Good dentition, dark pigment. Short neck into a good lay of shoulder. Fine boned and dainty. Well ribbed with a short and compact body. In good coat of correct texture, her tail set high with an abundant plume. Very in tune with her handler keeping her shape and showing non-stop, moved sound and true. Delighted to award her the BCC.

2nd Mrs K & Mr N & Miss K P French Norvanik Rumour Has It at Bincombefarm JW. This bitch had lots to like about her but was not as balanced in head as 1, offering a gentler expression. Compact in body, well ribbed. Lovely size and in good coat, tail carried well. Moved soundly and presented a pleasing outline.

3rd Miss P S & Mr N D'arcy & Duffield Paavali's Shadow Heart

1st Mrs A Cawthera-Purdy Ch Lireva's Gloria Swanson. Another bitch that excelled in head properties giving that required intelligent expression. Fine boned and dainty. Short neck into well laid shoulders. Well ribbed on a compact body. Tail well set and carried a good plume. Moved and showed well maintaining her shape at all times. Her coat is returning and there was enough to see to award her the RBCC.

2nd Mrs C M Soulsby Trenarwyn Ebony Firekraka. A dual purpose bitch with a pleasing head and expression. Well ribbed on a compact body. In full coat of correct texture, tail well set. Maintained a pleasing outline at all times, moved well.
