NATIONAL TERRIER 2024

Cesky Terriers

Thank you to National Terrier for inviting me to judge at this prestigious show.

It was encouraging to see some new exhibitors in the breed and I wish them luck in the future.

I was more than happy with my two CC winners and delighted to see the BOB shortlisted in the group.

Movement amongst some of the younger classes left a lot to be desired and there were a few exhibits who were a little overawed by the experience and some others who could do with some ringcraft.

SBD/B (2) 1 Goodwin’s Placido Proper Player, scored in head & earset, dark eye, strong neck, well padded feet, correct topline on the move. Needs to gain more confidence; 2 Halling & Atter’s Ridley Atticus, larger dog all through and longer cast, no denying his sex, good head & eye, well muscled, moved soundly.

VD/B (1) 1 England & Burrage’s Ch Ashleyheath's Black Thunder ShCM ShCEx VW, still has ring presence at 10 years of age and belies this on the move, correct earset and shape, dark eye, well muscled quarters, well ribbed back, shown in good condition, the fourth green card I have signed for this dog.

MPD (0).

PD (1) 1 Bishop’s Ulmo Bohemia Des Hauteurs De La Sole At Kyntilly, promising puppy, ears set close to cheeks, strong neck, well constructed, movement improved as we on, just needs to gain his confidence.

JD (2,1a) 1 Pearson’s Winoski Aemond, raw youngster, good head & eye, well ribbed, topline tends to level on the move.

PGD (5,1)

1 Bishop’s Moraira Abel At Kyntilly, strong in head, good eye and furnishings, nicely bodied, well let down in hocks, silky coat; 2 Bishop’s Pajantick Bertie Wooster, shame something outside the ring spooked him as he is a nice dog, definitely a male, moved out well when he did settle briefly; 3 Goodwin’s Placido Proper Player

LD (2,1)

1 Samson’s Talyot Magnus To Silak, well balanced dog, good eye and skull, deep chested, well ribbed, shame he left his furnishings at home today and a little unsteady on the move.

OD (5,1)

1 Tobijanski’s Ch Janski O'Rolox JW, correctly placed ears, good dark eye, powerful beck, short coupled, well muscled, best mover in the class, well presented as one would expect from this kennel. CC; 2 Taylor’s Ch Oural Du Champ D'eole (Imp Fra), have seen him go better than he did today, I think he may have been unsettled by something ringside, good head & eye, strong quarters, moved OK, well presented, considered for RCC; 3 Dukes & Rodgers’ Janski Theodore At Runiks.

MPB (0).

PB (0).

JB (2)

1 Samson’s Silak Never Miss A Beat, once she got her act together she put on a good show, feminine expression, correctly set ears, well muscled, silky coat and well presented; 2 Pearson’s Winoski Rhaenyra, feminine head and pretty expression, good rise over the loin, needs to gain some confidence.

PGB (0).

LB (6,2)

1 Tobijanski’s Janski Storm Padfoot, flashy girl with a lovely glossy coat, kind expression, neck leads into well constructed forequarters, short couple, correct topline held on the move. RCC; 2 Burrage’s Komidion Sonata For Sametova JW, not as sound as 1 on the move but an appealing bitch, scores in head, neck, good topline; 3 Goodwin’s Placido Oriana

OB (4) Strongest class of the day.

1 Dukes & Rodgers’ Ch Placido Musical Miracle At Runiks, has come on since I last judged her, she had everything for me today – workmanlike, good eye, earset, well ribbed, correct topline, sailed around the ring and bags of ring presence; 2 Burrage’s Ch Komidion Prima Donna Of Sametova ShCEx VW, more compact than 1 but good length to body, pleasing expression, well sprung ribs, moved out well when she settled; 3 Samson’s Silak Shasgav My Immortal
