Midland Lhasa Apso Association Breed Club Open Show

2nd September 2023

I would like to thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge their Breed Club Open show. I received a very warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my day. Thank you to all the exhibitors who stayed on for the open show on what was quite a warm day for all.

I was very impressed with the high standard of presentation within the breed. The coat is the icing on the cake, and we must not forget what is under the coat. There were exhibits shown whose fronts were not straight but in the main the dogs shown under me were healthy and sound. I didn’t always find the skulls that I consider meet with the breed standard, and there were quite a few exhibits that were broader in skull as opposed to being moderately narrow. I was delighted with my winners and for some of the final decisions that I had to make, I was splitting hairs on some points.
