NORTH STAFFORD CANINE SOCIETY OPEN SHOW 21/5/23 – IRISH SETTERS.

I was delighted to accept the invitation from the North Stafford Canine Society to judge the Irish Setter classes at their recent open show. I would like to thank my stewards on the day for keeping everything organised in the ring and, of course, the exhibitors for allowing me pleasure of going over their dogs.

P. (3) 1 McDonald’s Quensha Galway Girl. Pretty girl with a feminine head, raised brow and dark eye with a gentle expression. Has good angulation both front and rear. Correct tail set, in lovely coat and condition, well presented. BPiB and Puppy Grp2. 2 Dale’s Casachared Constance Tally of Aubanjon. Well balanced puppy, not refined in head as 1. Dark eye, raised brow, soundly constructed body. Straight in front with good depth of chest, just falling away slightly at the croup. Moves steadily around the ring. 3 Shepherd’s Casachared Connors Delaney.

J. (1) 1 McDonald’s Quensha Galway Girl.

PG. (7) 1 Dale’s Trefaine Aurora of Aubanjon. Well presented bitch with a soft expression, good depth of chest, good shoulder placement. Good angulation front and rear with a well bent stifle. Carried tail correctly on the move. 2 Gilks’ Sutersett Mr Mistoffelees at Gochmawr. Handsome boy with a balanced head. Nice eye shape giving a soft expression, correct outline, well angulated shoulder and hind quarters. Good spring of rib, moving soundly with drive, holding head correctly. 3 Stevenson’s Lochlorien Unforgotten.

O. (3) 1 Stevenson’s Lochlorien True Detective is Andley. A lovely balanced bitch, in great condition. Head of equal proportions and refined in looks, with low set ear. Good length of neck flowing into good shoulder placement. Good depth of chest, well angulated front and rear. Moved with ease around the ring, keeping her topline. BoB, Grp1, BV. 2 Corless’ Swiftlark Spellbinder. Handsome stylish boy with a lovely dark coat in good condition. Pleasing head with lovely arch to strong neck with well place shoulders, good angulation front and rear. Good bend of stifle. Prefer topline of 1. RBoB. 3 Walker’s Thendara Soul Sister.
