Bon Accord Kennel Association Open Show 1st July 2023

Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge the Gundog Group, I enjoyed my day with many lovely dogs to go over. Good ring outside giving the dogs plenty of space to move.  Many thanks to the exhibitors for entering and allowing me to judge their dogs and for accepting my decisions on the day.

1st Munro, Mr & Mrs L & E & Evelyn. Panthera Bad Medicine Dulmaur (imp Pol) 3-year-old girl presented in full coat, with rich tan. Of ideal size, correct in head with depth to her muzzle but still feminine, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, straight front with flat bone, tight well-padded feet, well bodied, good length hip to hock, very well-muscled, moved freely with drive. BOB & Group 2

2nd Munro, Mr & Mrs L & E & Evelyn. Hernwood Northern Adonis of Dulmaur. 6-year-old boy masculine in head, good ear placement, good depth of chest, good length hip to hock, not quite the balance of 1.

1st Bowley Lynne, Gunsyn Gineva, Orange & white 3-year-old girl well balanced and giving that noble appearance of the breed, head showing all the correct attributes, good front with oval bone, good depth of chest, correct topline with strong rear quarters, lovely feet, moved with power from rear with correct head carriage. 1st Charlish Mr & Mrs, Harelferg Wise, this boy is still a youngster, head developing well, correct in neck into well laid shoulders, level top line good depth of chest, rear quarters developing well, took a little time to settle and steadied up and moved well.  BOB & Puppy Group 3

2nd Bannerman Francis, Selhendo Special Edition, veteran bitch in good hard condition, pleasing feminine head, balanced fore and aft, would have liked a little more length in the loin, rear well-muscled moved with ease.

2nd Spence Mrs R, Sonnetend Picture This at Cabharan, 6-year-old girl, correct in head & skull, strong in neck, front straight flat bone, would have preferred better pasterns, good in body, moved with correct stride.

1st Macdonald Mr H, Bartonholm Beaufort, 2-year-old boy presented well, well developed in head, clean in throat, well boned in legs, body well developed, topline level with slight slope, rear muscled well for age, moved as should covering ground with drive. BOB

2nd Lawrie Mr M & Mrs M, Inverella Magic Coco, slightly younger girl feminine in head & slightly broader than 1, compact in body, in good condition, a little less drive that 1.

1st Macdonald Mr H, Cloudhowe Bonnie Ecosse, 18 mth girl very feminine in head, square in muzzle, clean in neck, set into sloping shoulders, well boned in legs, good depth of chest, level top, good bend of stifle and muscled rear, moved with good drive.

2nd Jones Mrs J & I, Kenwad Belladrum for Lochnisdor, slightly smaller girl than 1, well presented good bone, body of correct dimensions, rear muscled, moved well round the ring.

1st Thomson Caroline, Llantrussa Winter Dreams at Badcall, 2-year-old girl of medium size presented in lovely condition, dense in coat, head well moulded and slight stop, good length of jaw, neck clean and set well, deep in chest, straight in front and up on pasterns, strong in rear with moderate bend of stifle, moved freely.

2nd Williamson Mr & Mrs, Hoedun Joy Ride to Sandti, 2-year-old girl in good coat and condition, slightly more of her than 1, head well moulded although preferred head on 1, long in neck, deep in chest, good quality of bone, body well ribbed, moderate bend on well-muscled rear quarters, moved well with handler.

3rd Makessack-Leitch Mrs F, Finhamspride Kia

1st Thomson Caroline, Caci’s the Dream Catcher at Badcall (Imp SWE), mature girl presented in lovely condition, typical in head, good length of clean neck, shoulders well back, deep in chest with gradual spring, short in loin, rear quarters well-muscled, well arched feet, tail well set and carried level, moved very well and freely round the ring. BOB

2nd Macpherson Mrs H, Rachanmill Colombo, 3-year-old boy, presented well and in good coat, masculine in head, clean neck, good bone and feet, up on pasterns, body in correct proportions, well-muscled, moved straight out and back.

1st Mason, Clubb, Oroshaza Bumble Beee, 11-month girl with head of noble appearance, ear set correct with rounded v shape, long arched neck into well laid shoulders, long in forearm with correct upright pasterns, short level back and slight tuck up, well developed rear quarters, moved with lively trot. 2nd Stalker Ms A, Valentine Magyar-Tim for Kinharrachie (Imp Pol) 1 year old girl in good condition, handler could not get her settled today.

1st Angus Mrs A & Mr S, Calmerell Gie it Laldy, young girl of good size, lean in head, with oval eye, long in neck into well laid shoulders, long forearm, would have preferred better feet, short in body, well-muscled in croup, rear quarters well-muscled, moved ok.

2nd Stalker Ms A, London Magyar-Tim for Kinharrachie (Imp Pol), boy of good size, masculine in head, muscled in appearance, unfortunately unable to go over him.

1st Mcdonald T, S & C, Donurie’s Russian Roulette (AI), 3-year-old girl of distinguished appearance, head lean and noble with well squared at end, lovely oval shaped eye correct ear set, strong in neck into well placed shoulders, deep in chest with good breadth, level back and well-muscled croup, correct feet, moved elegantly with lively trot. BOB

2nd Stalker Ms A, Kinharrachies Freda, 2-year-old boy in good condition, not happy today and unable to go over.

1st Simpson Ms A, Strathlana Black Jasper, my star of the day, although a youngster he was all there, owned the ring with his presence, strongly built and short coupled, head broad and clean cut, well developed nostrils, powerful in neck into well laid shoulders, legs well boned and placed well under body, excellent in body for age ribs well sprung and barrelled without being overweight, level in top line, rear quarters well developed and muscled, tail clothed thickly and correct in appearance, lovely compact feet. Coat overall short and dense and hard to the touch, moved freely & true front & rear. BOB & Group 1

2nd Rolland Miss J, Strathlana Black Diamond. Litter brother to 1, in profile all there, has still to come into his frame, broad in skull clean cut, strong powerful neck into well placed shoulders, good depth of chest, level top line, lovely feet, rear quarters well-muscled, coat of correct harshness, correct otter tail, moved freely covering the ground well.

1st Simpson Ms A, Exelby Bangonthedrum, 3-year-old boy of good size, masculine in head, strong in neck, well placed shoulders, legs well boned and straight and round compact feet, well sprung in ribs level in top line, wide loins short coupled and strong, rear quarters well-muscled, would have liked a little more turn of stifle, good coat, correct tail, moved well with handler.

1st Toynton Mrs A & Mr C, Taramount Dazzle Caramel, (American Cocker) 17-month-old girl presented in full coat, well developed & rounded in skull, defined stop, ears set in line with eyes slightly arched neck of good strength, topline level and compact, rear quarters strong although could be placed better to show correct slope in top line, moved smoothly and effortlessly. 2nd Knox Ms A & William Mole, Jennifer Our Loyal Welsh at Edincraw (Imp Ndl), (WSS) 2-year-old girl slightly out of coat, feminine in head, good pigment, good length of neck into neat shoulders, legs well boned, deep in brisket and well sprung ribs, slight arch to loin, rear quarters strong and muscular, moved with drive at rear.

2nd Mason Mrs C Lynshow Winter Wren, 7 mth female cocker spaniel, pleasing in outline, good bone, presented well although gave handler a hard time when setting up, moved well round the ring.
