Sussex Spaniel Critiques

Thank you to the committee for my first appointment to judge Sussex Spaniels, many thanks to my two stewards and thank you all the exhibitors, a lovely entry of very nice dogs, I really enjoyed my morning.

 

Class 37 – Puppy (3,3)

1 Bennet’s Sovaroma Cliffhanger: Nice clean head with soft expression and frowning brows. Lovely strong neck, shoulders sloping and free, arms well boned. Good proportions and balance, lovely top-line and moved out well once settled. In good condition with lovely golden liver coat, presented well. Looking forward to following his progress. BP


2 Hipgrave’s Lord of the Glittering Caves: A little longer in the body than 1. Nice head with gentle expression, good top-line, bone and feet, well ribbed and moved well with lively tail action. 


Class 38 – Junior (4,4)

1 Bennet’s Savaroma Soul Searcher: Loved this bitch, so feminine, well balanced head and pronounced stop, eyes correct colour with soft expression. Long, strong neck. Shoulders sloping and free. Chest deep and well developed. Back and loin well developed, lovely shape and balance, super coat colour and texture, a sound mover. Presented well. BOB


2 Bradbury & Preston’s Harasterro Big Bear JW: Pleasing head and expression, skull wide and moderately curved from ear to ear. Feet rounded and well padded. Good bone, level top-line and a sound mover, fore and aft. Developing well.


Class 39 – Post Graduate (5,3)

1 Bradbury & Preston’s Harasterro Big Bear JW– as per Junior


2 Barnes’ Saxonbejayz John Kerr Skull wide, showing moderate curve from ear to ear. Ears thick, large and lobular, chest deep and well developed. Good bone, level topline, true fore and aft movement with distinctive roll.


Class 40 – Limit (3,3)

1 Swietalski’s Fred Stop Ganol into Bowswizzler: Skull wide, showing moderate curve, correct eye colour, large thick ears. Neck long and strong. Well developed strong body with good bone, lovely rounded feet. Correct coat and colour, moved well with lively tail action. RBOB


2 Bennet’s Sovaroma Clarrie Brown: Wide skull showing moderate curve from ear to ear. Long strong neck, shoulders sloping and free, back and loin well developed, held topline well on the move. Correct colour and coat, presented well.


Class 41 – Open Dog (3,2)

1 Allen-line’s Marquell Torshca Chaos: Balanced head, Hazel eyes with a kind expression. Chest deep and well developed, thighs strongly boned and muscular, feet rounded and well padded. Moved well.


2 Clark’s Amarshaw Zero to Hero: Playing up a little for his handler today, nice head and expression, would like a little more spring and substance in ribcage and loin. 


Class 42 – Open Bitch (1,1)

1 Bradbury & Preston’s Harasteorra Aphrodite: Presented in lovely coat and colour, feminine head with soft expression, chest deep and well developed, excellent ribcage, loin and hindquarters. Moved well, fore and aft with distinctive roll.


Class 43 – Veteran (1,1)

1 Hipgraves’s Eald Village Gossip: Lovely feminine head with kind expression, chest deep and well developed. Good length of body, thighs strongly boned and muscular. Feet round and padded. Presented in good coat and colour, moved well, true fore and aft with distinctive roll. BV
