Thame & Oxfordshire County Canine Society

Thank you to the committee for my invitation to judge my beloved breed, and my fabulous Mum who joined me and also judged, it is great to share this with her.

The day was thoroughly enjoyable, the weather was perfect for the dogs and the event had a lovely, calm feel.

My stewards were wonderful to work with, keeping the ring moving and in order.

Thank you so much for those who entered under me, I felt that ring side it was a great atmosphere with exhibitors cheering each other on, making it a joy to judge.

The dogs all had lovely temperaments, in excellent condition, well turned out, groomed impeccably, all with strong jaws and correct dentition making it a pleasure to go over them.

The ground I felt did impact a little on movement, it was uneven in places and if I could, I would have loved a ring double the size to be able to really see this powerful, courageous breed move to its full potential.

Special Yearling

1 ABS 0

Mr Birmingham, Takatori Barnum.

18-month-old gold and white male, large, strong lad with a lot of bone and substance, masculine head with lovely dark pigmentation, this was very striking against his pale coat. Clear veining, pleasing, alert dark eye and a dark round nose.

Strong neck leading to a nice lay of shoulder and good topline. Turned out well in good condition, he was a little unsettled on the move due not being handled by his owner. I would prefer slightly wider action on his rear when moving, but he is still a youngster,

I shall look forward to seeing how he develops as he matures.

Limit

1 Abs 1

1st Miss K Wilenczyc Nibrass Celestial Lotus at Kashiba

2-and-a-half-year-old black and white male. Masculine yet elegant boy, well filled under the eye, neat ears, dark pigmentation. Long slightly arched neck, leading to a good lay of shoulder, correct top line with the rise over the last rib, straight front legs, deep chest, enough hind angulation, and correct hair like back feet. Long low set tail, that he tended to curl when on the move, although he does not have a curl in it, I put this down to excitement and the fact it's a very long tail. On the move he has a great front reach, and drive, and a good well-muscled backend.

Unfortunately, he was a little unsettled on the move. Happy to award him RBOB

Open

1 Abs 1

1st Ms Y Odell Sukeshi Dazzling Dan.

An understated, elegant yet powerful 3-year-old male. Nothing was overdone on this boy.

He is well balanced, elegant, and strong.

Dark eye, correct head, lovely veining with an intelligent expression.

Well-developed and muscled but not musclebound.

Neat, delicate ears, strong underjaw with a correct bite. Long, slightly arched neck leading to well laid-back shoulders, correct topline and fallaway, low, long tail. Clean, straight legs and correct feat. In profile he has elegant flowing lines that are well balanced and true to how I interpret the breed standard.

Well-developed hind quarters, with enough hind angulation with a powerful backend and an outstanding second thigh that he used on the move with power and drive.

Side movement was of a well-constructed hound, keeping his topline, he floated effortlessly with purpose, and would do the job he was bread for. Pleased to award him my BOB.

Many thanks
