Windsor Gundog Society

WINDSOR GUNDOG SOCIETY OPEN SHOW 4TH OCTOBER 2023

First, congratulations to the Show Committee for organizing such a successful event. The energy around the rings was positive and pleasant. Secondly, thank you to my steward, Martin, who was meticulously organised. Thirdly, a big thank you to the exhibitors for travelling wide and far and for presenting beautifully groomed dogs with mostly clean dentition.

IRWS

Open: 60 BARNES, Mr N & Mrs J AMBANCY THIS IS ME this 2 year old bitch exhibits a lovely outline of feminine qualities, good size, excellent short coat and balanced proportions. Dark eyed, very desirable in the breed, with a balanced head, parallel planes, muzzle of correct length and a good stop. Strong in type with a well developed chest, and good fore quarters and return of upper arm and hind quarters of correct moderate angulation. Strong but moved with drive and real purpose. Nicely arched and tight feet. Notably she moved freely on a loose lead, demonstrating a strong and trusting bond with her handler. Presented in tip top condition. The future looks bright for this young bitch. A deserving first place in Open and my very Best of Breed.

WSS

Puppy (2): 279 BARKLEY, Miss S JACRANELLA GALAHAD OF CHERRYHEATH a 7 month old mature male. Happy disposition with great energy about him. Possessed a handsome head with notable and desirable dark eye and black nose. Well developed chest and clearly defined, strong loin. Nice round and well padded feet. What stood out for me in this exhibit was his powerful movement on the day, showing a good biddable ethic and eagerness to please his handler. He was my Best Puppy and Best of Breed.

283 WARD, Miss C M GLENBROWS FLAME FOR TANTARAVIZ a feminine 7 month old bitch with an energetic and lively disposition. Nice gentle and melting expression. Pretty head, with a dark eye and black nose. Well developing chest and sound loin for her age. A little excitable on the move and lameness in the hind quarter meant she couldn’t fully demonstrate her movement on the day. My second puppy placement.

Junior: WARD, Miss C M GLENBROWS FLAME FOR TANTARAVIZ. My first place winner.

Open (2) 278 BARKLEY, Miss S CHERRYHEATH’S MR MOJITO an 8 year old compact male showing typical WSS qualities. Melting expression, he had a dark eye, black nose and defined stop. Presenting a short and strong body with balanced proportions, he glided over the ring with ease and panache. This exhibit had notable correct fore and hind angulation. Nice paws with thick pads. Worked hard for his handler demonstrating clear biddability. My first place in Open and Reserve Best of Breed.

282 WALLER, Miss R ISFRYN LADY GODIVA AT FIREGLOW JW a 6 year old feminine, compact and elegant bitch. What stood out for me were her debonaire outlines. Lovely balanced head, black nose, and correctly set ears. Possessed a long well muscled neck, well developed chest and sprung ribs. Driving from the rear, moved well for her handler. Perfectly straight, dense and richly coloured coat. My obvious and well deserving second placement.
