DORSET COUNTY CANINE SOCIETY – Open Show

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge at this show. The rain stayed off all day as it had poured down the day before. I had a good size ring to judge in which is a bonus and I hope that everyone enjoyed there day at the show.

GREAT DANE

PG D/B (2,0), 1. Newton, Mrs., Lisa & Miss Abbey, Shlarra Impulse Voyage: A 14mth old brindle dog, well up to size. Well defined head, very masculine, good length of neck into neat front. Well off for bone with a good chest. Good length of back, neat rear and strong hocks. Moved out well around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB and Grp.3. Well done.

2. Vann, Mrs. L., Fontanarossa Risk It All: A 20mth old brindle bitch with a super out-line and when viewing she should have won this class. She has a super feminine head and neck. Clean front. Lovely top-line and neat rear. Movement let her down on the day, she needs tightening up, keep an eye on her front when moving. Pleased to award her Res. BOB.

NEWFOUNDLAND

PG D/B (1,0), 1. Hunt, Mr. J. & Mrs. A., Zentaur Jam Master Joy: A 2yr old brown dog, that is up to size and in good coat. He has a balanced head, good neck, good brisket and plenty of bone. Strong back, neat rear with strong hocks. Took his time to settle down. Then moved nice and steady, pleased to award him BOB and Grp.2.

AVNSC WORKING

PG D/B (2,1), 1. Stoodley, Mrs. Sue, Bavaruki Temo Bowie: Leonberger. A 5yr old dog who is fully mature and in good coat. He is of a good type and out-line, with a friendly disposition. He handler needs to find a handling class to get the most out of him. Best of luck for the future.

OD/B (4,3), 1. Massey & McGeoch, Mr. R.P. & Dr. R.J., Manzart Zebedee, J.W.: An 18mth old Dobermann dog, what you see is what you get, stood perfectly well in tune with his handler and very smart indeed. He has a well-balanced head into a well arched neck, well laid shoulder, deep brisket, strong back, neat tuck up. Neat rear with good angles. Finishing off with neat strong hocks. He is very pleasing to the eye. Moved soundly using all the ring, pleased to award him Best AVNSC, Grp.1 and later to see him take BIS. What a great day, well done.

ANY VARIETY WORKING

P D/B (2,1), 1. Sharkey, Mrs. Heather, Jantonely Zingalong Baloo: Leonberger, a very happy and friendly 9mth old dog that I well up to size for his age. Well balanced and of a good type, still a bit loose on the move, but did no distract pleased to award him BP and P.Grp.2. Well done.

V. D/B (6,3), 1. Massey & McGeoch, Mr. R.P. & Dr. R.J., Jojavik Kissy Suzuki, Sh.CM., Sh.CEX: A 7yr old Dobermann bitch. What a lovely class to be in and coming out on top was this 7yr old bitch. She is of a lovely type and out-line and in tip top condition. Really nicely balanced, moved soundly around the ring.

2. Newton, Mrs. Lisa & Miss. Abbey, Stelamah Quiang at Shlarra, JW, Sh.CM: A 7yr old black Newfoundland dog that was well up to size with a good out-line with plenty of bone. Moved around the ring with ease. Very pleasing type.

3. Smith, Mrs. J.E. & Miss. J., Ch. Snowshoes Kings Legacy, Sh.CM., Sh.CEX., VW.: An Alaskan Malamute an 8yr old dog. That is of a super type with a pleasing out-line. He is very pleasing to go over. Unfortunately, movement let him down today. Went on to win Grp.4. later, well done. Where he did move better.

WORKING GROUP:

1. Massey & McGeoch, Mr. R.P. & Dr. R.J., Manzart Zebedee, J.W.: Dobermann. As before.

2. Hunt, Mr. J. & Mrs. A., Zentaur Jam Master Joy: Newfoundland. As before.

3. Newton, Mrs., Lisa & Miss Abbey, Shlarra Impulse Voyage: Great Dane. As before.

4. Smith, Mrs. J.E. & Miss. J., Ch. Snowshoes Kings Legacy, Sh.CM., Sh.CEX., VW.: Alaskan Malamute. As before

WORKING PUPPY GROUP:

1. Smith, Mrs. J.E. & Miss. J., Cash The Check Shamanrock at Snowshoes (Imp. CZE): An 8mth old Alaskan Malamute dog, a very nice promising puppy that stood out here. He is a lovely type and out-line and has a lovely coat for age. Also, he was very steady on the move. Very nice type, Well Done.

2. Sharkey, Mrs. Heather, Jantonely Zingalong Baloo: Leonberger. As before.

RON DAY MEMORIAL SPECIAL OPEN STAKES

Special Open D/B (14,5), 1. Challis, Mr. S. & Mrs K.M., Vizslanya Visszater: Hungarian Vizsla, a 14mth old bitch, very sweet natured who moved well around the large ring. She has a lovely out-line and is well balanced and of a nice type.

2. Taylor, Miss. A., Frostisen Zitter: Norwegian Buhund, an 18mth old Black bitch who pushed hard for 1st place in this class. She is very classy and of good type with nice out-line. Moved well.

3. Morgan, Mrs. J., Benoveor Endless Love: Welsh Springer Spaniel. A 2yr old bitch of pleasing type that moved out well and deserved her placing.

4. Leech, Miss A. & Mrs. J., Mochas Mahmalade by Jamchala: Basset Fauve De Bretagne. A 13mth old bitch of a nice type and out-line moved well, I liked her.

5. Littler, Mrs. J. & Mr. J., Listerlo Golden Oriole: Hungarian Vizsla. A bitch that is nearly 3 yrs of age. She is of a nice type and was in a nice class and moved out well.

MICK & GWEN CARPENTER SPECIAL MEMORIAL OPEN CLASS

D/B (12,6), 1. Thornton & Leech, Mrs. & Dr., Mochras Mahgaux: Bassett Fauve De Bretagne, a 14mth old bitch, first 2 of this class were top notch, and this is a very nice bitch of excellent type with a nice out-line, shown in excellent coat. Moved a dream around the ring.

2. Rivers, Miss. J., Orora’s French Silk at Merrimak, JW: Bearded Collie, A 21mth old bitch of excellent type that fought hard for the top spot. She has a good out-line and was shown in good coat. Moved well.

3. Hunt, Mr. J. & Mrs. A., Zentaur Jam Master Joy: A 2yr old Newfoundland. As before.

4. Challis, Mr. S. & Mrs K.M., Vizslanya Vizi: Hungarian Vizsla, a 14mth old bitch, that is of a very pleasing type and out-line also moved well.

5. Wilkinson, Mrs Sue, Rainster Eilex Among Hunacres: Irish Wolfhound, a 20mth old bitch, this young lady is well grown for her age and there is plenty of her. She is of a very pleasing type and moved well.
