Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Many thanks to the committee of the Devon County Premier Open Show for inviting me to judge Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and my stewards who kept the ring running efficiently. I would also like to thank the exhibitors who brought their lovely dogs for me to go over. It was a lovely sunny day and a very well organised show with a great atmosphere.

Puppy Dog: (2,0)

1st Hawkins’ Lexody Pandemonium. 10 month old Blenheim puppy dog. Well broken markings with rich chestnut on a pearly white background. Good angulation. Round, dark eyes, good dentition. Moved well maintaining a good topline. BPD

2nd Lewis’ Carleeto Cutie Pie. 8 month old ruby puppy dog. Presented well with rich red coat. Lovely soft expression, dark eyes, correct teeth. Moved well around the ring holding a level topline at all times.

Junior Dog: (1,0)

Post Graduate Dog: (3,0)

1st Twelves’ Cathmead Fortune Cookie. A lovely 2 year old Tricolour dog. Well broken markings with rich tan in the right places. Gleaming coat, well presented and of good length. Correct dentition, dark eyes, well feathered leathers. Good angulation and moved well all ways. RBD & RBOB

2nd Merrifield’s Featherfalls Fools N Horses. 20 month old Blenheim dog. Compact body, well broken silky coat, Lovely head with soft expression and good pigmentation. Well angulated and used this to move with reach and drive.

1st Cox’s Fujairah Eric Morecambe. Stunning 4 ½ year old Blenheim dog with desired lozenge. Beautifully presented with good length of coat and well broken markings. Very attractive head with soft melting expression. Good angulation and an excellent mover holding a level topline at all times and forming a lovely silhouette on the stand. Best Dog & BOB

Puppy Bitch: (2,1)

1st Cox’s Amiryck Beatrice Fujairah. 8 month old Blenheim puppy bitch. A lovely puppy with well broken markings, dark eyes, soft expression, correct teeth and good pigmentation. Compact body with good angulation. Moved well around the ring. BPB & BPIB

Junior Bitch: (3,0)

1st Bennett’s Rishtte I’m Tanisha of Remmya. 14 month old ruby bitch. Well presented with enough rich red silky coat. Attractive head with round, dark eyes, soft expression and well feathered leather of good length. Compact body and good angles to front and rear. Moved well with a level topline.

2nd Liverton-Ovey’s Kinvaar Sunshine In Pocket for Halosey. 14 month old Blenheim bitch. Well presented with plenty of silky coat with well broken markings. Pretty head with round dark eyes, soft expression and correct dentition. Good neck. Moved well with good reach and drive.

Post Graduate Bitch: (3,2)

1st Player’s Ellemich Hands of Time at Anickily. 21 month old Ruby bitch. Presented well with rich red silky coat. Attractive head with expressive dark eyes. Good teeth, well feathered ears, good cushioning below eyes. Good reach of neck. Moved well. Best Bitch

1st Liverton-Ovey’s Bon Ray of Hope at Halosey. 3 year old Tricolour bitch. Lovely personality, very outgoing and fearless. Well presented with plenty of silky coat, heavily marked with tan in the right places. Lovely head and expression. Moved well and formed a nice silhouette on the stand.

2nd Bennett’s Rivalace Red Over Heels. 4 year old Ruby bitch. Well presented with silky rich red coat. Well set ears with skull almost flat between. Soft expression, round dark eyes and good neck. A little close behind.

Open Bitch: (2,1)

1st Lewis’ Carleeto Hello Kitty. 3 year old Black & Tan bitch. Nicely presented with raven black silky coat and rich tan markings. Attractive head with round, dark eyes, well set ears and flattish skull. Soft, melting expression. Good angulation and moved well. RBB
