Junior Handling

6-11 years (5, 1)
1st Texas-Lee Dunstone. This young lady stood above the others today. Very good pattern work, good use of her voice to command and reassure her dog. Just needs to pay a little more attention to the position of her dog’s legs when stood, especially on the table.
2nd Kian Whitelock. I was so impressed with the way this young handler took control of his dog even though they were nearly the same height. He has the basics and the way he talked to his dog was refreshing, and the dog responded. Just remember to shadow in the line. Well done.
3rd Libby Rycroft. Another competent handler that has the basics and can do some good pattern work. Remember to talk to your dog even if its is just to give them a command to turn etc. Watch the position of their feet on the table and try not to shadow on your knees, it looks messy.
Res Riley Honey. Has the basics, gave me some good patterns. Needs to talk to the dog more and encourage it, and loosen the lead a little.

12-16 years (2, 0)
1st Kara Mason Very nicely handled. Good patterns but make sure that on the 3rd line of the triangle the dog is heading straight back to the judge. Just needs to pay a little more attention to the position of the dog’s legs when stood. BJH
2nd Aston Honey-Smith. Understands the basics and gave some good patterns. Personally, I would prefer to see the dog run on a looser lead and hear a handler talking to them.

Adult Handling

36-59 years (3, 2)
1st Neil Stow. Remember that a triangle has 3 straight lines and no curves. Up and down line was off to the right. Needs to pay more attention to getting the dog stood correctly.

60 years & Over (4, 0)
This was an interesting class where all the handlers did their best to throw it away, anyone one of them could have won it but none of them seemed to want to.
Similar comments apply to you all which are.
A triangle starts and finishes at the same point. The up / down starts at the same point, goes up to the middle of the top of the triangle and straight back to the start point. If the judge moves to the side you return to that same point, then go to wherever the judge is and stand the dog 2m directly in front of them.
If any of you had done this you would have won the class.

1st Janett Rice. Won on a slightly more polished performance when standing her dog. Best Adult Handler
2nd Miss Marguerite McShane. Use of her voice and sympathetic handling gave her 2nd
3rd Margaret McWilliams. Has the basics, make sure the dog is stood correctly at the table, at the end of the patterns and in the line.

Res Penny Steele. Again, has the basics, tidy up those patterns and make sure the dog is stood their best.
