Bristol & District Dog Club. 3/12/23.

German Shepherd Dog.

Post Graduate. 3 (1abs).

1st. Landgren’s Yakasimba Alohomora. 21-month-old black & tan long coated female. An eye-catching happy girl with sweet expression, presented in gleaming condition, with excellent coat quality & lovely rich pigment. Well proportioned, with a clean outline, and beautiful strong & feminine head. Ears slightly large but well shaped & set. Very good forehand angulation, with normal wither, strong pasterns and good feet. Strong loin, flowing into slightly steep croup of good length, giving very good breadth of thigh. Slightly deep but still very good hind angulation. Straight and sound in front, slightly close behind. Powerful gait with very good forereach and drive from the rear, maintaining a strong, level topline throughout. A superb dog, very well deserved BOB.

2nd. Hill’s Wakematt’s Jinz. 19-month-old black & tan short coated female. Another lovely girl presented in excellent, fit condition, with super pigment & coat quality. Good proportions with a strong head, lovely dark eyes, and very pretty expression. Pasterns and feet could be tighter. Normal wither, very well developed forechest, with good lay back of shoulder, and well angled, slightly short upper arm. Stands slightly narrow in front, but may broaden in chest with maturity. Strong loin into steep croup of very good length, with good breadth of thigh. Would prefer slightly less hindquarter angulation and could be firmer away. Good drive from behind, but had restricted reach in front today. I would have liked to see this girl in a much bigger ring.

Open. 3 (1abs).

1st. Appleby’s Copybush Wednesday. 5-year-old black & tan short coated female. Well schooled with a nice steady temperament. Would prefer her with a bit more condition today. Very well proportioned, with a beautiful feminine head and clean outline. High wither, with excellent angulation fore and aft, very good underline, and lovely firm pasterns. Good length of loin into a slightly short, slightly steep croup. Moved soundly away and back. Unfortunately paced a lot today, but did intermittently show a free and easy gait, with very good forereach and drive from the rear. Another that I would have loved to see in a bigger ring with more non-slip matting. A very nice dog. RBOB.

2nd. Hill’s Sonarly Derrick. 3-year-old black & tan short coated male. A very impressive and very enthusiastic boy, shown out of coat today but in otherwise excellent condition. Very handsome, masculine head with alert expression. Well muscled and strong boned, with excellent proportions, good width of chest and spring of rib, and correct, clean topline, maintained on the move. Excellent forehand, with well developed forechest and correct length and lay of shoulder & upper arm. Lovely firm pasterns and good tight feet. High withers into straight back, and strong, broad loin. Very good underline. Steep croup of very good length, giving good breadth of thigh. Would prefer slightly less hind angulation. Very powerful far-reaching side gait with excellent forereach and drive from the rear. Close away, stands straight in front but was loose in the right elbow coming today. An incredible male that would have benefited greatly from a bigger ring today.
