Northern Ireland Bulldog Club

CRITIQUE FROM NORTHERN IRELAND BULLDOG CLUB OPEN SHOW

I would like to thank the club for inviting me to judge their open show, I thoroughly enjoyed my day and the hospitality was great, in a great venue with a lovely steward, it is eight years since I was the steward for the inaugural open show for this club and it was lovely to be invited back to judge after all these years. Thanks to all who entered and allowed me to judge their beautiful dogs! I was very happy with my line ups and had some quality dogs to go over, overall quality, temperament and health was excellent.

Puppy Dog (3/0)

1st – Mrs. S. Mac Donald, Frederick Of The Hollybullz At Winenbru

Nearly a year old red & white boy, caught my eye as he walked into the ring. Lovely head with good pigment. Good jaw with enough upsweep. Great dark eyes, with correct ear placement and carriage. Good straight strong front, with enough bone for a young dog, down to neat feet. Correct topline, leading to a fabulous tail. Viewed from above he has a lovely pear shape, good rear angulation, a nice young puppy with good movement.

2nd – Mr. S. Mann, Britmannace Great Harold

9-month-old white & red dog with nice overall shape when viewed from above. Good head with correct pigment and nostrils, nice length of skull. Well placed rose ears, clear dark eye. Enough neck to correct shoulders with good straight bone down to nice feet. Enough brisket and tuck up leading to nice tail. Preferred movement on 1.

3rd – Miss. V. Budriene, Cinamon Dzukijos Angelas

Ears correctly set wide apart on a flat skull. Dark clear eyes, wide open nostrils. Well tacked on shoulders, plenty of bone, neat feet. Good depth of chest, big brisket nicely tucked up. Good topline, well set healthy tail. Lovely strong masculine dog, good rear angulation, moved very well and enjoyed showing himself off. BD & BIS.
