May I take this opportunity to thank the club and the very hard working committee for inviting me to judge Smooth Coat chihuahuas. I had a wonderful time assessing Smooths with great help from Mrs Anne Halls my ring steward for the day, who kept everything in a timely manner and did a fab job. I must stress, temperaments need keeping an eye on, due to a few showing fear and lack of confidence. Time and gentle handling needed. Overall I’d say bitches had the upper hand today. Thank you all exhibitors for giving me the time and support to judge your dogs.

1st Mrs S. Slavinec Slavinchi Ready Freddie Go

A lovely pale fawn 7 month old male. He has a nice outline and shape. lovely headpiece with correct large ears, eyes large and rounded. Muzzle with definite stop, Good bite for age. Slightly arched in neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Level in topline with nice tail set. Straight in legs, using drive from the rear. A promising young boy.

2nd Mrs A. Incerti Perlanera Echo Echo

A lovely fawn male of 6 months old. Larger in build than 1st but nicely put together. Very attentive towards handler. Handsome expression, large round eyes, ears placed correctly. Bite good for a young pup, moderate length in muzzle. Slight arch to neck sloping down to a level topline. Well laid shoulder in front supported by straight forelegs. Good in body, just the right length, deep brisket. Correct tail set held up and over. Muscular in the rear using fair drive pushing from behind. Another promising youngster.

1st Mrs L. Stading Stadmeyer Youwillrock Dj

10 month old youngster, red in colour, a lovely outline of shape. Pretty in head with large rounded eyes, ears large and flaring. Definite in stop, good bite. Nicely arched to neck fitting well into shoulders. Level in back with tail held up and over. For a dainty boy, he had good rear drive. Straight in front action. Lovely temperament very friendly.

2nd Mrs S. Slavinec Charonchi Ignatius

Another young male of 11 months old, pale fawn in colour. Lovely in head, ears flaring, eyes rounded. Slightly arched in neck flowing down to a nice body in good condition, well sprung ribs. A very nervous boy today, sadly difficult to assess fully, but allowed him his time.

A cream dainty male in fine outline.10 months of age. Very pretty in head, well rounded. Large ears, very expressive dark eyes. Moderately short in muzzle with definite stop. Nicely arched in neck sloping down to a level topline. Sickle tail held up and over. Straight brisk moving with a little cheeky look at me attitude. Very pleased to award him Best Puppy Dog then Reserve Best Puppy In Breed.

2nd Mrs T. Barker Baralicia Blue Ember

Another lovely male of 13 months old, slightly bigger than 1st but nice, compact outline. Typical head well rounded, muzzle moderately short with a scissor bite. Large, dark eyes, ears large. Arched in neck, flowing to well laid shoulders, Straight in front with enough chest. Good body condition with well sprung ribs. Sickle tail. Good rear drive on moving.

Another dainty little fella compact in stature. Lovely in outline. Typical head with well placed ears, large rounded eyes. Tapering in muzzle of enough length. Scissor bite. Good in body with level topline. High set tail held up and over. Fine in bone with nice angulation behind. Straight in front he moved very well being attentive to handler, very happy friendly temperament.

Another lovely male, cream in colour with a dainty compact outline. Beautiful head piece, domed with good ear placement. Large rounded eyes, expressive. Definite stop with moderately short muzzle housing a scissor bite. Good in body, well sprung in ribs, level topline with tail held up and over. Nicely muscled hindquarters, straight in front set well under chest. Moved very well with good rear drive and reach in front.

Cream 2 years old male, fairly masculine, larger built in stature. Well rounded in head with correct ear placement. Expressive large dark eyes. Moderately short in muzzle with scissor bite, strong in jaw. Arched in neck flowing down to a level back, correct tail placement held up and over. Nicely bodied deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Muscular in rear, pasterns strong. On the move he showed true rear drive and straight reach in front.

21 months old fawn male of good size, larger boy nicely put together. Masculine head piece with true saucy expression, Large dark eyes. Largely flaring ears of correct placement. Good bite with strong underjaw. Slightly arched in neck fitting well into shoulders. Level topline with high set tail, held up and over throughout. Good body, well covered, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Muscular in rear with good turn of stifle. Straight in front with good bone. Reaching out well and pushing of with clear drive behind, he moved very well showing great alertness.

A super black tri male of around 18 months old. Well rounded head, moderate length with in muzzle Housing a scissor bite. Large flaring ears, eyes dark and rounded. Strong in neck slightly arched fitting well into shoulders. Level topline on a well bodied frame. Well sprung in ribs and deep brisket. Tail set high carried up and over. Straight in legs of enough bone. Super male, who just needs a good bit of umph! I do know that feeling.

Level in back with tail set high. Good body condition, well sprung in rib. Good rear angulation, nicely muscled. Straight in front set well under chest. Full of enjoyment on the move as he pushed with rear drive and good reach in front. Moved swiftly and briskful. Pleased to award him Best Dog In Breed then Reserve Best In Breed, then later see him take Reserve Best In Show!!

Definite stop with muzzle tapering slightly, scissor bite. Slightly arched in neck fitting well into shoulders. Good in body condition, well spring ribs and deep brisket. Tail true sickle shaped held up and over. Nice angulation to rear with good muscle tone and turn of stifle. In front, legs straight reaching out in motion. A very typical look at me attitude as she moved freely and alert. Delighted to award her Best Puppy Bitch, Best Puppy In Breed and later watch her take Best Puppy In Show.

2nd Incerti Mrs A Perlanera Tinzy Strider

Delightful, dainty red female of just 6 months old. Very pretty in head piece, large dark eyes, definite in stop, good bite for her age. Smooth neck into shoulder placement. Level in top line with correct tail set. On the move she showed very good reach in front with drive from behind.

Lovely fawn female of 11 months old. Nice in outline, small in stature. Pretty in head with large ears, bright, dark eyes. Slightly arched in neck flowing down to well laid shoulders, level in top line, good in body condition with well sprung ribs. Tail set high carried up and over. Good rear muscle tone, straight in legs with small feet. She moved fairly well, another who just needed a little bit of time allowing her to settle in.

Another lovely 11 month old female, beautiful in outline. Very soft gentle expression on a domed skull. Correct ear placement, large dark eyes. Definite stop with muzzle relatively short. Nice arched neck, level in back and lovely body condition with well sprung ribs. High tail set, good turn of stifle to her rear legs, Straight movement, In front, good chest depth with legs straight and small feet. Lovely girl.

Well this young lady of 14 months old really did catch my eye instantly on entering the ring. General appearance I could see she had a look at me attitude and saucy expressive features. Pale fawn in colour of lovely clean coat condition. Very pretty in head piece with large flaring ears. Eyes dark and rounded. Definite stop with muzzle relatively short. Scissor bite with clean jaws. Slightly arched in neck fitting into well laid shoulders. Good in body condition, deep brisket and ribs well sprung. High tail set of medium length. Muscular in rear with right turn of stifle, Straight with small feet forward facing. In front, just enough depth to fore chest chest, legs placed underneath the chest with elbows held close. Pushing off with drive and reaching out in front. This young lady will go very far I’m sure. Delighted to award her Reserve Best Bitch.

Delightful dainty little girl. Red and white in colour nicely marked. Typical pretty head, good ear set, sparkling Eyes. Good in body condition ribs well sprung and level in back. Tail set high on. Fine in legs with good rear muscle tone. Straight in front. She was a bit shy today but moved fairly well. Very sweet temperament.

 Another super young female of 13 months old. Cream, dainty girl with a cheeky, happy temperament. Beautiful head with large ears. Dark rounded eyes, definite in stop and slightly tapering muzzle housing a scissor bite. Slightly arched in neck flowing down to a level back with tail set high. Well sprung ribs in body condition. Straight in legs, good muscle tone to rear and small feet, legs placed underneath the chest and straight in front. She moved super remaining very attentive to handler showing off her playful nature.

Lovely fawn female of 5 years old. Bigger in stature, nice in outline. Pretty in head with feminine features. Lovely eyes dark and rounded. Good in stop with muzzle tapering slightly. Scissor bite with strong jaw. Lovely in neck flowing down to a level topline and fitting in to well laid shoulders. Well bodied girl with deep brisket. High set tail of medium length. Straight in legs, good forchest depth. Very playful and really enjoyed herself as she moved around the ring.

A female I’ve previously judged and should certainly not be overlooked. Although a well built female, she is well put together. Super in outline and ring presence. Domed in head with correct ear placement. Large eyes, rounded. Definite in stop and muzzle of good length. Correct scissor bite, Jaws clean. Arched in neck line fitting well into shoulders. Level in back, well covered in body with well sprung ribs, deep in brisket. Correct tail set held up and over throughout. Well muscled in rear with good turn of stifle. Straight legs in front with enough depth to forechest. She moved with pure drive from behind and reach in front. Super attentive to handler throughout.

2nd Incerti Mrs A Milendo Upika For Perlanera

A female I have previously judged and she really has matured very well. However sadly today she wasn’t showing herself off. Cream/fawn 4 years old girl pretty in head, ear placement right, eye large and rounded, light eye. Level in topline, good spring of rib to body. Straight in legs with nice muscle tone. Tail high set. Wasn’t very happy on movement today.

Wow, this girl had me as she walked in the ring. The most feminine, saucy expressive Features on a delightful rounded head. Ears large and flaring. Dark, rounded eyes. scissor bite housed by a tapered muzzle with a definite stop. Nicely arched in neck flowing down to a level back with high set tail carried up and over throughout. Perfect body condition, nicely covered. Well sprung in ribs and good depth of brisket. Enough muscle tone to rear, straight in legs with good turn of stifle. Front legs set well under chest with good heart space. As she moved, she glided round with true brisk forceful action. Very alert and attentive to handler. Delighted to award her Best Bitch In Breed, Best Of Breed and later see her take Best In Show.

In front straight with good chest depth. Very pleased to award her Reserve Best Veteran Bitch and Reserve Best Veteran In Breed.
