Kirkintilloch Lenzie & District Canine Society

Many thanks to Kirkintilloch Lenzie & DCA for inviting me to Judge whippets.I Throughly enjoyed my first judging appointment, I was blessed with a big entry and was pleased with the turnout despite the severe weather warnings.

I would like to say thank you to the 2 lovely young ladies who stewarded for me Rhian Feasby & Eilidh Mckenzie.

Special Yearling (6,2abs)

1st Mrs F Finch - Starceylon Queen Of Dorne And Zenobia 9 month old, Black, nice size, feminine bitch with nothing overdone. Beautiful head and expression, good length of neck leading into good lay back of shoulder and return of upper arm of equal length. Deep chest for age with good infill. She has the correct 'S' shaped underline I was looking for. Lovely length of back with a nice rise over loin with good croup finish. Stifles well bent and hocks well let down with neat little feet. 

Good mover in all directions, keeping her top line on the move. A promising puppy, i will watch her career with interest. BPIB and was pleased to see her go HPG1. 

2nd Mr & Mrs Brian & Lorraine Smith - Kupleto Jazzalicious at Lorbri (Imp Ltu). Black Brindle and white. Very much a raw puppy at 6 months old. Lovely lean feminine head. Nice length of neck into good lay back of shoulder and correct length and return of upper arm. Pasterns well bent. Adequate depth to chest for age. Long back into a lovely rise over loin that falls gently off into a nice croup finish and correct tail set. Stifles well bent and hocks well let down. A lot of filling out to do as imagined at such a young age but potential is there.

Another that moved beautifully around the ring. 

3rd Mrs Carol Parkinson - Hologem I'm Amazing

Post Graduate (7, 2abs)

1st Mr & Mrs Brian and Lorraine Smith - Crosscop Lovin Each Day at Lorbri 17 month old fawn. This bitch just oozes with femininity and breed type 

Curves in all the right places, lovely size. Such a beautiful feminine head, long elegant neck leading into correct lay back of shoulder with return of upper arm and shoulder of equal length. Good filled in front, good spring of pastern. Deep brisket and nice tuck up that also gave me the 's' underline I was looking for. Adequate length of back and loin for this size bitch with the most beautiful rise over loin and good croup finish giving a lovely whippet silhouette. Stifles well bent with good muscle tone in both first and second thigh and hocks well let down. Lovely daisy cutting action. A lot to like. BOB 

2nd Sally Wilson - Falconcrag made you look 2 ½ year old Fawn Bitch. Another lovely bitch in this strong class. Well balanced with beautiful feminine Curves. Lovely well proportioned head with a beautiful expression and correct ear set. Good filled in front, elbows well tucked in to her deep chest with good spring of rib. Strong forearms with slight spring to pastern. Strong neck leading into good lay back of shoulder. Nice top line with a lovely underline. Strong loin and well bent stifles. Good mover in all directions. 

Not much between 1 and 2 just preferred the overall length and top line of 1.

3rd Mrs Fiona Finch - Zenobia Love Actually 

Open (7,4abs) 

1st Mrs Carol Parkinson - Groomsville Hologem Heavens Dream 2 ½ year old good size Brindle with white trim bitch. Well proportioned head on elegant long neck. Good infill and depth of chest. Nice spring of pastern. Beautiful flowing topline good tuck up with a nice length of loin. Well bent stifles and hocks well let down. Excelled in movement.

2nd Mrs Maria and Mr Marcus Webb - Crosscop Shadow Dancing. Red fawn brindle with white trim Almost 5 year old. The only male of the day. Lovely masculine head, long strong neck. Would prefer a longer return of upper arm. Nice length to back but would prefer more spring to rib. Good Length of rib creating a nice gradual underline. Slight rise over loin with nice croup finish. Nice turn of stifle, good rear and well let down hocks. Moved around the ring so proud like he was really enjoying himself.
