SHETLAND SHEEPDOG

I would like to say a huge thank you to the officers and the committee for inviting me to judge one of my favourite breeds, well-run show, attention to details, big rings, beautiful location. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. 

A special thank you to everyone, who entered their lovely dogs under me, I was delighted with my entry and the quality of the dogs, 18 enters, 5 classes, with just 1 absentee. It was my pleasure to go over all of them.

Class 186 - PUPPY 2 entries (0A)

1st BECKANDFERN ANGEL DELIGHT AT WYCKWOOD, Mrs SJ Cooper.

7 month old tricolour female, well developed for her age. Pleasant head and expression, good dentition, correct ears, well balanced body, with beautiful long neck, strong bone, parallel legs, correct angulations and level top line. Moved freely with a good rear drive. Confident and responsive to her handler. BEST PUPPY IN BREED.

2nd FLOWERBELL ZE SHETLANDU (CZE IMP) NAF, Miss M Rennison.

9 month old tricolour female, smaller than first and still slightly immature. Feminine, with a sweet expression. She creates beautiful shape when standing with immaculately prepared coat. She moved freely and behaved well for her handler.

1st VALDOSTA GALADRIEL AT FAEMARDA, Mrs M Cheal.

12 month-old, sable female in fabulous full coat. Feminine, with sweetest of eyes and expression. Good dentition. Well balanced body, level top line, good angulation, nice parallel legs, front and rear. Moved freely and stood beautifully for her handler.

2nd MOLSON MOONFEVER, Dr J Hill.

Another nice 12 month old sable female in nice type and full of quality. She is well build, with good balance. Strong bone, parallel legs, well angulated front and rear. Level top line, good cage of ribs, well sprung, with correct depth. Moved well in all directions. Just not in her best coat today.

1st DIPPERSMOOR DAQUIRI AT SONSPIRIT, Mrs S & Miss S Bussey.

Top quality 2 years old sable male. My preferred type, very classy, fabulous rich coat of correct structure. Beautiful head outlines, correct stop, eyes shape, muzzle and under jaw creating that desirable Sheltie expression. Good dentition. He’s well build with good top line, well sprung ribs with correct depth of chest. Strong bone, nice parallel legs. Moved freely in style. My BEST OF BREED.

2nd ACHOR’S SURPRISE BLACKBARRY, Mrs S Riding.

Very attractive tricolour female of 5 years old. She’s full of qualities to love. Exquisite head of clean lines, stop, well set eyes and ears, with sweetest of expressions. Well balanced body, good angulation front and rear, strong parallel legs. She moved beautifully to all directions, showing her level top line and beautiful neck carriage.

1st ACHOR’S SURPRISE ORISA FOR TORINSKA (IMP CHE), Mrs S Riding.

3 year old sable female in beautiful coat and fabulous outline. Feminine, with sweet eyes and expression. Lovely head outlines, well used ears and correctly set. Level top line, strong parallel legs, very well angulated in front and rear. Stood well and attentive to her handler. Moved freely in all directions.

2nd JAPARO TIMELESS DESIGN FOR SAMPHREY, Mr S & Mrs D Gruszka.

4 year old sable male who also has a lot of qualities to like. Beautiful coat and outlines, good length of leg and excellent reach when moving. Strong bone parallel legs, well angulated, both front and rear. Would prefer a tad brighter pigmentation for more pronounced head and eyes expression. Stood and moved really well for his handler.

Class 190 - OPEN 5 Entries (0A)

1st CAROLELEN CALL MY BLUFF AT FAEMADRA, Mrs M Cheal.

5 year old sable female of fabulous outlines. Such a feminine and very well balanced. Good dentition, well proportioned head and muzzle with correct stop and eyes. Well set ears in use all the time. Beautiful rich coat, strong top line, well angulated. Nicely developed rib cage of correct depth. Strong parallel legs, front and rear, moved beautifully to all directions. RESERVE BEST OF BREED.

2nd KELGROVE KINDA BLACK MAGIC AT HAMBLEROSE, Mr S & Mrs S Bussey.

Super attractive tricolour in almost 10 year old age. Ultra feminine and very well balanced all over. Impressive rich coat, and very well prepared. Beautiful head outlines, with lovely almond eyes creates that sweetest of expressions. Her dentition is still full, correct and in fab condition. She moved graciously around the ring, showing her well angulated front and rear, strong parallel legs and correct level top line. Smiling all the time and looked like she enjoyed herself being in the ring. My respect to the owners and I wish I have had a special award for the best veteran.
