Shetland Sheepdogs.

Thank you for the invitation to judge one of my favourite breeds at this well run show.

This was the best appointment I have judged to date. I had a quality entry of 15 with only 1 absent. All exhibits were a lovely type and size. All were presented in beautiful clean coats and handled well I was truly spoiled for choice.

Shetland Sheepdog Puppy (3,0)

1st Foxtones Take A Chance On Me At Shellamoyed Best Puppy and eventually Best Puppy in Show.

Quality sable male, 11 months old he presents a lovely picture in full coat, he has lovely head with a flat skull with correct stop he has lovely dark eyes that give masculine expression, good arch to his neck and length of back, correct length of tail, he moved well around the ring.

2nd Katiedale The Piper At Nithview

This young male is a total showman, at 6 months old, he has a terrific shape standing on well boned legs and short hocks, lovely balanced head and with well-placed ears that were used all the time. He moved well covering the ground with ease he can never be overlooked but was just giving too much away in coat and maturity to the winner today once matured will trouble the best.

7 Month old bitch puppy (3rd in puppy) Pleasant bitch who is still a bit raw but has time on her side. She has with a good shape and nice length of back, pleasing head with correct stop and flat skull she moved well and was well presented.

1st Rannerdale Not On Your Nellie

An exquisite tricolour with a heart melting expression, she was had a correct length of head that compliments her well balanced body, expressive dark eyes and correctly set ears that completed the soft expression often hard to achieve on a tricolour. She has well laid shoulders and good spring of ribs, correct length of back that all came together on the move when she flowed around the ring with ease.

2nd Rannerdale The Showgirl

Now this lady blew me away for her exquisite expression she is beautiful. Her head is perfect for me with the correct blunt wedge, obliquely set almond eye and ears bang on top. Everything is in the ring place under her profuse golden sable coat, she moved around the ring steadily, she was just a “reluctant showgirl” at times and this cost her the class, but she was most certainly the one I wanted to take home today.

1st CH. Rannerdale The Entertainer

What a privilege to handle these 2 champion exhibits from a great kennel.

This handsome male has attitude, he commands (Entertains) the ring. He has breed typical characteristic for size and balance.

He has shapely head, correct set eyes and ears that provided a sweet but still masculine expression, no mistaking his sex.

A good well arched neck flowing into well laid shoulder and correct length of back. Well off for bone and lovely short hocks which propelled him gracefully around the ring with minimum lift of his feet. He was immaculate presented in a profuse sable coat, a worthy champion and proving himself as sire, I handled a lot of his offspring today and they have all inherited his attributes.

2nd CH. Rannerdale Queen Of The Dark

Another worthy champion, Tricolour sister to PG winner and a lot of similar remarks apply.

This bitch is quality throughout and could not wait to get my hands on her, she excels in front angulation, well arched necked enhanced by her huge white collar, good depth of ribs and length off back completes her lovely outline she is sound on the move, she moved out confidently. Her head handles well, and she has a cheeky intelligent expression. Presented in a beautiful well fitted black coat. At under 2 years old it is easy to see why she carries her title.
