I’d like to start by thanking Dundee Canine Club for their invitation to judge the terriers. I had a wonderful day outside in the sunshine with some lovely terriers to look over. I would also like to give a massive thank you to my last-minute steward who kept my ring running so smoothly and made sure we were all in order. All the exhibitors were very pleasant and thankful for the awards they were given, it really made my first judging appointment one to remember.

I would just like to add that I was extremely impressed with my Jack Russell classes, I was spoiled for choice between them all and can see many of them swapping places at any other show. They are a breed I have watched and enjoyed for many years now and to see so many nice ones especially youngsters has made me excited for the future of the breed. I can also say the same for my Soft Coated Wheatens and Parson Russell Terriers.

14 month old grey brindle male who was thoroughly enjoying his time in the ring, nice head with everything in proportion, good pricked ears, keen expression, good sloping shoulders, level back and well sprung ribs, in good condition for his age, very good coat, a bit unsettled on the move. BOB

2 year old dark grey male, another one who enjoyed his time in the ring, good head, dark eyes, correct ear set, good neck that led into well placed shoulders, good deep ribs, well-muscled rear, good tail set, coat ok, very excitable on the move.

7 year old light grey female, in very good condition for her age, good head, strong muzzle, great ear set, nice long neck leading into good broad shoulders, deep chest which extended well back, good angulation in her rear which allowed for this girls good movement. BOB

5 year old grey-blue female, although this girl stood alone she really knew how to catch your eye, very good head, nice dark eyes, correct ear set, nice long neck leading into muscular shoulders, well sprung ribs, nice strong arched loin, well-muscled in the back with a good high hock, excellent movement with so much attitude, it’s hard to believe her age when you see her in action. BOB

17 month old male, strong head with correct markings, dark almond shaped eyes with keen expression, correct ear set, nice long neck leading into sloped shoulders, front narrow and straight, well sprung ribs with slight rise over the loin, good bend of stifle, moved well. BOB

7 year old female, feminine head, correct v shaped ears, nice long neck, straight front, well sprung ribs, good arch over loin, well muscled in the back with ok bend of stifle, good coat with correct markings, carrying a bit of excess weight, moved ok.

10 month old tan and white male, Lovely masculine head with correct proportions and a nice strong jaw, dark almond eyes, good ear set, well laid shoulders, good straight front, well sprung ribs which were easily spanned, level topline with slight rise over the loin, nice harsh coat, in very good condition for his young age, quite reluctant to move but with the few strides he did give he moved effortlessly, I will continue to watch him with interest. BPIB

12 month old tan and white female, nice feminine head, very keen expression, correct ear placement, good length of neck that came down to well laid shoulders, straight forelegs, well sprung ribs which were easy spanned, would have liked a bit more muscle, good coat, moved well.

2 year old tan and white female, this was a hard class to choose from but this lovely little bitch took my eye, nice flat head in correct proportions, dark eye, ears set on well, good length of neck, prominent front, well sprung ribs which were easy spanned, very well conditioned, level topline with slight rise over loin, good angulation in the rear, moved with power and drive.

2 year old tan and white female, another nice feminine girl, good head, correct ear set, nice almond eye with lovely expression, good length of neck leading to well laid shoulders, well sprubng ribs which were easy spanned, nice level topline with rise over loin, lovely harsh coat, well angulated, in great condition, didn’t move to her fullest today.

7 year old tan and white female who certainly did not act her age, nice head all in correct proportions, lovely dark eye, keen expression, correct ear set, good length of neck leading into well set shoulders, nice deep chest which was easy spanned, level topline with slight rise over the loin, in excellent condition, very good angulation in rear, this bitch excelled in her movement today striding out with so much enthusiasm and drive, very pleased to award her best of breed and delighted to find out she later received best veteran in show. BOB

4 year old tan and white male, very masculine dog with lovely features, strong head in good proportions, well set ears, keen eye, enough length of neck, well set shoulders, great depth of chest which was easily spanned, level topline with slight rise, in excellent condition, very well angulated, lovely harsh coat, moved with power and drive.

9 month old grizzle female, sister to 1 with very similar features, lovely feminine expression, good length of neck, nice straight front, good length of rib and easy spanned, another excellent coat, well muscled throughout, I can see 1 and 2 swapping places at other shows I just felt 2 didn’t move to her full capacity today.

17 month old black female, nice long head, large nose, strong dark eye, very bold little dog, nice erect ears, good length of neck, well sloped shoulders, okay front, ribs extended well back, nice level topline, well conditioned, good mover.

3 year old red male, strong masculine head, nice broad muzzle, lovely dark eyes, correct ear set, good arched neck leading into well laid shoulders, good amount of bone, narrow chest, strong topline, good angulation in the back which allowed for his lovely movement, in excellent condition, good harsh coat. BOB

9 month old red female, very slim pickings between 1 and 2, nice head in correct proportions, keen dark eye, correct ear set, nice reaching neck, well laid shoulders, good narrow chest, nice topline, well angulated in the back, good coat with undercoat, very well conditioned, moved very well, excited to see how she matures. 11 year old tricolour male, nice masculine head, keen eye, good length of neck, well sloped shoulders, straight front, deep chest, level topline, strong rear with good angulation, carrying a bit of excess weight, good amount of bone, moved okay.

6 month old female, this girl really caught my eye, beautiful outline, lovely long head with well defined stop, striking dark eye, correct ear set, nice long neck leading to nice sloping shoulders, straight forelegs, good amount of bone, excellent topline, well sprung ribs, nice coat, in very good condition, her movement was one of the best of the day, I will follow this dog with great interest. BOB, BPIB.
