I was delighted with the overall quality of my entry across all of the breeds and stakes classes.

Correct, clean and complete dentition. Pleasing head with strong clean neck. Strong hocks, neat, tight feet. Strong hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. 2ND Condron, Mr G T & Mrs K E B, Khyannes Valence At Covarney (IMP HUN) (Braque D’Auvergne): A mature male, again extremely well balanced and not exaggerated in any area. Very good head, still with muzzle of good length and strong underjaw. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Good depth and width of chest. Well-made hindquarters with moderate turn of stifle. Moved soundly, I just preferred the more free hind movement on winner today

1ST Lamport, Mr M C & Mrs E, Glenbrows Hopefulness: A beautifully presented bitch. Balanced. Typical head in both skull and muzzle proportions. Moderate stop. Well placed ears, correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean neck into good forehand assembly, body not too long, deep brisket for age, strong hindquarters, firm, round feet, short nails, moved well – could have moved just a little faster to get this bitch to fully stride out

2ND Boumonte, Boumonte & Dimond, Mrs D, Mr V & Mrs R, Roxdale Moody Blue: A bitch of just over 12 months of age, extremely raw and came without her full jacket. This bitch is of the correct size, has a pleasing feminine expression, well placed ears, correct, clean and complete dentition, good forehand assembly, ribs well sprung, moderate hindquarters, moved soundly and accurately.

POST GRADUATE Dog/Bitch (3)

1ST Morgan, Mrs J M, Benoveor Endless Love: A beautiful bitch of nearly 3 years of age, presented and shown very well. Lovely head of correctly proportionate length, softest of expressions, ears set moderately low, correct clean and complete dentition with a scissor bite, well placed shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm, body proportionate and in balance to length of leg, tight neat feet, on the move she showed power coupled with a ground covering action. BEST OF BREED & GUNDOG GROUP 2

2ND Nicoll, Miss S L, Mrs C L & Mr D P, Benoveor Sail On To Antreth JW: Very similar in overall type to my class winner but not in the fullest of coats. Shown and presented well. She has a lovely head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition, muscular but lean neck into correct forehand assembly, well sprung ribs, muscular loin, and strong hindquarters with moderate turn of stifle and in good coat. She moved accurately in all planes.

1ST Attwood, Mr B & Mrs K, IR SH CH Kylowen DRYM ShCM SHCEx: A really good honest Welsh Springer male of over 8 years of age but still presented and shown to the highest standard. Excellent head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition, well placed shoulder and return of upper arm, deep brisket with elbows tight to brisket, strong muscular body, good bone and tight round feet. Moved very well, showing drive from rear and accurate movement both fore, aft and in side profile. RESERVE BEST OF BREED

2ND Boumonte, Boumonte & Dimond, Mrs D, Mr V & Mrs R, Islanza Chasing Daisies: Another very pleasing bitch of 3 years of age. Lovely outline, correct head with skull of proportionate length, correct, clean and complete dentition, good reach of neck that was clean in throat, well placed shoulder and return of upper arm, balanced and proportionate body, hocks well let down, moved very well.

1ST Henderson, Mrs L, When I Was Your Man Black Lofty (IMP POL) ShCEx: A very nice male of 4 years of age. This dog presented a balanced outline. Super head and expression, deep, strong muzzle with well defined lips, narrow cheeks, correct, clean and complete dentition. Long, arched neck into excellent forehand assembly, elbows close to body, deep brisket of good width and inline with his age and development, wide strong loin, straight hocks, in good coat and moved very well. 2ND Ashley-Turner, Ms A, Hernwood The Botanist JW: A male of 2 years of age – presented and shown with copious amount of coat. I thought this male to be very typical in type, and very stylish when moving. Symmetrical in conformation. Super head with defined stop and defined lips, correct, clean and complete dentition, dark brown eyes, neck long and clean into well placed shoulders, brisket of good depth and width, body of moderate length, strong, well muscled hindquarters, moved very well. RESERVE BEST OF BREED

For me, he is a lovely example of the breed. Excellent head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition, long, lean and muscular neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, deep brisket of good width, short level back, strong hindquarters with well bent stifles, quality bone all through. Tight well-arched feet with short nails. Completely sound movement. BEST OF BREED

2ND Full, Mrs S M, Revensett Midas Touch At Teignestuary: A male of 6 years of age. A balanced and masculine example of the breed. He has very good quality bone all through. Very good head that was carried high when moving, with soft expression, dentition correct, clean and complete, clean muscular, slightly arched neck into well placed shoulders, good width and depth to brisket, elbows set down close to body, strong loin, muscled hindquarters with well bent stifles, moved very well. 1ST Wallace, Mrs J A, Dreammake For Tiaja (IMP DNK): I thought this bitch to be very typical in the type that I look for. A young bitch of nearly 12 months of age. Beautifully balanced in all areas, short coupled, excellent bone all through, tightest of feet, broad skull and defined stop muzzle of sufficient length to balance with head, scissor bite with correct mouth and clean and complete dentition, clean neck into well placed shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, good depth and width to chest, strong hindquarters and good turn of stifle, classic ‘otter’ tail. Feet that are round and compact with short nails. Moved extremely well when asked, accurate fore and aft and in side profile. BEST OF BREED, GUNDOG GROUP 3, PUPPY GUNDOG GROUP 1 & BEST PUPPY IN SHOW

Broad skull, balanced head overall, correct ear set, Clean strong neck into good forequarters, chest of good width and depth, well developed hindquarters, correct tail and tailset. Moved very well when asked with free movement that covered adequate ground. RESERVE BEST OF BREED

1ST Pike, Mr D, Redclyst Sibelius: An extremely promising puppy male of nearly 12 months of age. Good outline and balanced all through. Head has good length and well chiselled beneath the eyes. Low set ears. Correct mouth and full dentition. Clean long neck with good depth of chest. Well ribbed back. Correct topline. Strong hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Moved correctly on a good stride – I was especially impressed with his front movement. BEST PUPPY, RESERVE BEST OF BREED & PUPPY GUNDOG GROUP 4

2ND Macdonald, Mrs J, Sheldonite It Takes Two Baby: Another promising young male, very good bone all through. Good outline well balanced for one so young. Masculine, well shaped head. Correct mouth and full dentition. Deep chest. Gently sloping topline. Long hip to hock. Very good and accurate on the move. In very good coat.

3RD Rutherford, Mrs P J, Clonageera Take A Chance

POST GRADUATE Dog/Bitch (8, 1abs)

1ST Pike, Mr D, Redclyst The Celt: Well balanced all through showing good outline, although the slope on the topline for me, when stacked was a little more than ‘gentle’. Head of good length. Correct mouth and full dentition. Clean neck. Very good forehand assembly. Well ribbed. Correct through hindquarters. Moved soundly. BEST OF BREED

2ND Clarke, Mr D, Covarney Dream Time From Bronbrians JW: I really liked this dogs outline and overall style – he was prevented from winning this class because of his rather untidy forehand movement. Well balanced all through. Super head with good stop and well defined eyebrows. Good length of neck. Deep chest. Well ribbed back. Long hip to hock. Excellent coat and condition.

1ST Macdonald, Mrs J, Redclyst The Maximus: A masculine male, up to size but balanced. Well balanced all through. Very good head with well defined stop and eyebrows. Good length of neck, which is clean and depth of chest. Good forehand assembly. Strong & muscled hindquarters. Long hip to hock. In excellent coat and condition. Moved soundly but as with many today, not the front movement I would have preferred.

2ND Harris & Hoeksema, Mrs P & Mr G, Blazing Bronze Happy Clappy Sings Konakakela JW (IMP NLD): Would have been my class winner apart from again, untidy and inaccurate front movement. A very well balanced male. Well balanced all through. Head of good length. Clean, long neck. Correct topline. Well made hindquarters. In excellent coat and condition.  

3RD Hadfield, Mrs M, Staratlanta Get A Wiggle On To Marzanne

1ST Hadfield, Mrs, M, Covarney Estee Avec Marzanne JW: A very pleasing bitch on the eye – stacked, she was completely exaggerated in her topline, which did not reflect her true self. Lovely bitch. Good outline and overall balance. Excellent head. Well chiselled. Low set ears. Deep, narrow chest. Good length of forelegs. Well ribbed back. Correct topline. Long hip to hock with good width of second thigh. In excellent coat and condition. Moved with good drive and correct head carriage.  

2ND Henderson & Szwajkowski, Miss H & Mr M, Grenada Lofty Czerwony (IMP POL): Another very nice bitch. Well balanced all through. Excellent head with well defined stop. Deep in chest. Well ribbed back. Long hip to hock. Handling on the day let this bitch down. Moved soundly.

POST GRADUATE Dog/Bitch (6, 4abs)

1ST Osman, Mrs M, Cattistock Cosmos With Marissolo: A male of just over 2 years of age. A pleasing overall outline. Good proportions although up to size for me. He is balanced, good bone and correct feet, good head with correct and complete dentition leading to muscular and slightly arched and very clean neck, very good forehand assembly, excellent depth of chest that also has good width, good body, muscular hindquarters, very good feet, moved well.

2ND Love, Miss C, Rose’s Grandaughter: An extremely young and very raw bitch. Neither the handler nor the young bitch are completely familiar with the expectations of showing – we were all at this point once. Pleasing head. Dentition correct, clean and complete, Eyes correctly placed. Good clean neck. Deep chest, short-coupled. On the move she moved erratically but managed to successfully navigate what was required.

1ST Matthews, Mrs A D, Sonham Raising The Game JW: A male of 18 months of age in extremely lean and hard condition. Presented an excellent outline of balance and breed type. Balanced and symmetrical male, well muscled throughout, skull of medium length, correct mouth, strong neck and well made forequarters, well sprung ribs, short coupled, strong and muscled hindquarters, moved soundly covering plenty of ground. BEST OF BREED

2ND Mccourt, Miss M J, Kanix Opihr: Of nearly 6 years of age. A balanced bitch in outline and profile. Breed typical head, correct, clean and complete dentition, strong neck into well placed shoulders, Good depth of brisket and spring of ribcage. Strong topline with correct tailset. Well made hindquarters with correct turn of stifle. On the move she was not correct in forehand movement but completely sound.

1ST Kruglow, Mrs P K, Amberellie Rosanna: Lovely bitch, correct head and kind expression, correct ears set on level with corner of eye and carried low, correct mouth, powerful well muscled neck, slightly short in upper arm, good body proportions, strong hindquarters, coarse dense coat, moved well. BEST OF BREED

2ND Mortimer, Mrs L, Scodinzolare Philomen: Very nice dog of excellent proportions and bone throughout. 

Good head with clear divergent head planes, deep muzzle and kind expression. Correct mouth powerful 

neck, good shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, correct topline rising gently to broad loin,

good bend of stifle, moved very well.

1ST Brown, Mrs C L, Matravers Cherokee: Well balanced and displayed very good breed type. Balanced head with moderate stop that is proportionate to body. Correct, clean and complete dentition, very good forehand assembly with sloping shoulders, deep chest of good width with elbows close to body, ribs deep and well sprung, muscular loin of optimum length for me, excellent bone, good quality harsh coat, tight feet, moved very well. BEST OF BREED

2ND Harries, Mrs S, Gleomac Daffodils In Bloom (AI): An 18 month old bitch of pleasing type with a balanced head that is proportionate to body. Correct, clean and complete dentition, very good forehand assembly with sloping shoulders, deep chest with elbows close to body, excellent bone, coat could have been more harsh, tight feet with short nails, moved very well.

1ST Matthews & Moon, Miss E L & Mrs A, Vanitonia Song and Dance (Clumber Spaniel): A young Clumber Spaniel bitch of 8 months of age that demonstrates excellent breed type. Well balanced, quality bone all through, correct, clean and complete mouth and dentition, clean ears, large square head that is not overdone in any way, dark full eyes, correct shoulder placement and corresponding return of upper arm, powerful hindquarters, large round feet. On the moved she showed very good movement that was straight both fore and aft. BEST PUPPY A.V.N.S.C. Puppy Group 2

2ND Feasby, Mr B & Mrs C, Rubethan Lemon Drizzle (Irish Red & White Setter): Very raw young dog of 7 months of age. Pleasing overall type with everything in place ready to be grown into. God head, expression and eye, correct, clean and complete dentition, well-placed shoulder, forelegs straight, ribs well sprung stifles well bent. Eventually moved well once settled. Would benefit from more conditioning

Typical head with slightly aloof expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Strong neck to well laid shoulder and barrel ribcage right on the elbow. Short back with strong hindquarters and well let down hocks. In excellent coat and condition. 2ND Tamblyn & Dorkins, Mr S & Mrs N, Weipowa Skyfall (Weimaraner): Male of 7 months of age, very well balanced, lovely head, moderately long with moderate stop, medium sized eye, strong jaws, correct, clean and complete dentition, strong clean-cut neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest level back, slightly sloping croup, strong but moderately angulated hindquarters. Moved accurately and smoothly both fore, aft and in profile.

Intelligent expression, skull moderately broad and well proportioned, correct, clean and complete dentition, neck of moderate length, well placed shoulders, coming together well all through, but needs to deepen in chest, which will come, good bone, tight feet and short nails, moved very well.

Presented in super condition. Correct, clean and complete dentition, super head and expression, good length of neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest, well made hindquarters, very good bone and feet with short nails, moved very well.

2ND Challis, Mr S & Mrs K M, SH CH Beo Valentina By Vizslanya (Hungarian Vizsla): Again, an absolute privilege and honour to have this 13½ year old bitch presented to me. A complete credit to her owner once again. Pleasing head, clean neck into well placed shoulders, good width and depth of brisket, firm back, strong loin, moderate hindquarters, moved soundly.

1ST Bradley, Mrs L & Mr P, SH CH Stanegate Stage Debut (Ai) (Irish Water Spaniel): I have Judged this beautifully presented bitchmany times now and I never fail to be completely impressed by her excellent type and conformation and so beautifully prepared. She is so very well balanced. Typical head with slightly aloof expression. Strong neck to well laid shoulder and barrel ribcage right on the elbow. Short back with strong hindquarters and well let down hocks. In excellent coat and condition. On the move she demonstrated the correct roll from the ribcage and showed an excellent length of stride when viewed in profile. She is a superb example of the breed – thank you for allowing me to Judge her. BEST AV GUNDOG CHAMPION & BEST CHAMPION IN SHOW.

2ND Longstaff, Mrs C, SH CH Kevardhu Lif Of Rylea (Italian Spinone): A bitch of very good quality. Head correct with oval skull, deep muzzle, correct mouth, good shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, straight forelegs, broad and deep chest, strong hindquarters, moved very well.

Moreno-Chamorro, Mrs C & Miss L, Calavey’s Polly Pocket (Jack Russell Terrier): A bitch of just 15 months of who just never stopped showing and exuding happiness. Flat skull of moderate width tapering to strong muzzle. Dark and correctly-shaped eyes with well placed ears. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Strong neck into good forehand assembly, oval and well-sprung ribcage, strong loin, muscled and moderate hindquarters, moved free-striding and accurate in all planes.

Stansbury, Ms T A, Woodbriar Fix Up Look Sharp JW ShCM ShCEx OSW (Dobermann): Absolutely stunning 8 year old male – presented a super clean and balanced outline. Up to size, with very good musculature without any sign of coarseness. Very good head filled well under the eyes, dark brown eyes, Correct, clean and complete dentition, mouth and bite. Strong, clean neck into very good forehand assembly, deep chest of very good width with elbows tight to brisket. Square in profile, moderate hindquarters that were well muscled with prominent second thigh. Tight well-arched feet with the shortest of nails. Moved accurately both fore, aft and in side profile.

Player, Mrs S D, Anickily Pandora JW (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel): A 7½ year old bitch. Presented and shown well. Balanced all through, skull almost flat with shallow stop, eyes dark, high set long ears neck of moderate length, well laid shoulders, short-coupled body, good hindquarters with well-turned stifles, coat of very good condition and texture, moved freely and soundly.
