West Lancs French Bulldog Club Open Show 5th November 2023

I would like to thank all exhibitors for entering under me, I was delighted with my entry of 66 .Some of the dog classes were challenging at times, however I was pleased with my final principal winners and the way the exhibitors accepted my decisions.

Minor Puppy Dog - 3 :0

1st– Morison’s, Xandene Knew You Were Magic 8 months old fawn of correct size and substance for his age, slightly shorter in loin than 2, nicely proportioned head viewed from all angles with an evident stop, in balance with his body, dark round eyes correctly positioned giving off a lovely expression, round bat ears neatly set on high, strong muscular neck onto correct shoulders, well off for bone feet to tighten as he develops, still only a baby, strong cobby short back with a gentle roach good spring of rib for a youngster, nice rear quarters, moved out with ease for his handler, pleased to award him BPD

2nd – Walton’s, Ravandane Popeye A very nice 7mth brindle puppy who didn’t let his owner down, not quite the width of muzzle of 1 but his head is in proportion with his body, good dentition, his eyes are dark round and correctly positioned giving off a pleasing expression, ears medium and rounded set on high which he used to his advantage, strong muscular neck onto front which needs to strengthen with maturity, muscular cobby body, just slightly longer in loin than 1, good rear quarters , looked lovely in profile.

3rd –Roach’s, Roalice Master Mouse

1ST – Bryant’s, Archness The Audacity JW BD /Best in Show

Bryant’s Archness the Audacity - 16 months old brindle who just oozes quality and took my eye as soon as he entered the ring, he made his presence known and was of typical breed type. He is so well balanced throughout, with the most beautiful head with no exaggeration and of correct proportions, he has a good width and depth of muzzle with an evident stop, he looks at you with the most appealing dark round correctly set eyes His rounded bat ears are set correctly on high which he used well on the table and on the move. His neck is nicely arched strong and muscular onto correct lay of shoulder, super straight front with ample bone, down to neat tight feet, his body is short compact and cobby with a slight roach and correct low tail set. His coat was in pristine condition, strong muscular rear quarters which enabled him to move around the ring effortlessly, He didn’t put a foot wrong, I was pleased to award him BD BIS

2nd – Hutchinson’s, Zorro of Shine Treasure for Oschalben JW (imp) 14 mth pied. Such a shame this boy just didn’t seem to be interested today, strong square head of correct proportions, which complimented his cobby muscular body, slightly longer in loin than 1, dark round eyes, correctly set ears, just enough wrinkle, neck well arched and thick, muscular front, would like feet a little tighter, nicely angulated rear quarters, steady on the move.

Post Grad Dog – 5:0

1ST – Walton’s, Ravandane Billy the Kid, 2 ½ year brindle very nice male who has a great presence about him, presented in pristine condition, lovely well balanced square head of correct proportions with not too much wrinkle his eyes giving off the most appealing expression, good width of muzzle, strong under jaw with a good upsweep of chin , muscular neck onto straight front, great bone, neat feet, strong muscular compact cobby body with a good spring of rib, slightly shorter in loin than 2, nicely developed rear quarters when set up correctly, didn’t use his ears so well on the table but on the move he didn’t let his handler down, a very smart quality male pleased to award him RBD

2nd – Vearncombe & Hales, Ruption Knightcott Back to Black 2 1/2 year brindle in lovely hard condition . balanced square strong masculine head of correct proportions with evident stop, eyes round dark & set wide apart, well-padded muzzle of good width, nicely padded cheeks, correct bat shaped ears which he used to his advantage, strong muscular neck, straight front, onto correct shoulders, great bone, nicely muscled in body, great rear quarters which he used to his advantage on the move.

3rd – Hunts, Queenslake Inspecor Morse

Limit Dog – 3:3

1ST – Korennaja’s, Onnis of My Sweet Moments 2-year fawn. nicely balanced square head that was not overdone, good width of muzzle with well padded cheeks, good sweep of underjaw, great pigmentation, he had the most expressive dark round eyes nicely arched neck of moderate length onto correct shoulders, well off for bone, tight feet. straight front, and nicely muscled rear angulation, slightly shorter in loin than 2, moved out steady handled to his best advantage by his young owner.

 2nd Morison’s Xandene All That’s Magic 2 ½ nicely made fawn dog of substance, with a pleasing outline, masculine head, square large and broad in proportion to his body with a defined stop, round correctly set eyes, medium size bat ears which he used well on the table and on the move, strong muscular forechest straight front, strong back with a slight roach good spring of rib, great rear quarters of width and strength, nicely let down hocks moved out steady

3rd –Thornton’s, Play The Ace

Open Dog – 5:2

1ST – Forsythe’s, Chivasregal Innes Of Islay Ardhub 2 ½ year fawn. I was splitting hairs with my 1st and 2nd places, both were very nice males in pristine condition, , square correctly proportioned head for his size, skull flat between ears, evident stop, muzzle broad and deep, with nicely developed cheeks, round correctly set eyes, would have liked them slightly darker, ears bat like carried upright and parallel. Straight front with ample bone, well-muscled cobby body with good spring of rib, hindquarters strong and muscular, with great second thigh, moved out effortlessly for his handler.

2nd – Morison’s Roseldogue Knew it was you Xandene Brindle Lovely head when viewed from all angles, broad nicely developed muzzle and cheeks, correctly set dark eyes giving off a pleasing expression he used his ears well both on and off the table, nicely arched muscular neck onto correct shoulders, straight front, strong correctly proportioned cobby body onto great rear quarters. Moved out well for his excellent handler.

3rd – Rankins, Guru Sunday at Wildax (imp)

Veteran Dog- 2:1

1st Howarth’s, Gizjo Sting Like a Bee 7 year old brindle who stood alone, he was in lovely condition for a veteran, masculine head with a square muzzle just starting to turn grey as you would expect, nicely balanced throughout with an evident stop, dark round eyes, ears carried upright, , nicely muscled neck, not too short, cobby in outline, still maintaining a good spring of rib, strong in loin he wasn’t phased on the move . BVD

Minor Puppy Bitch- 7:1

1ST –Roach’s, Roalice Mega Mouse two quality puppies who could change places on another day, This youngster at just 6 mths took it in her stride and once she settled she looked stunning, She has the most beautiful head of correct proportions with just enough wrinkle, good width of muzzle and nicely formed cheeks, evident stop and the darkest of eyes giving off an exquisite expression which helped her win the class, muscular neck onto the straightest of fronts, fabulous cobby muscular body in hard condition, her coat gleamed, nicely balanced muscled rear quarters. I was pleased to award her BPB/ BPIS: I will watch her show career with interest, I am sure her owner will have great fun showing her in the future.

2nd – Weir’s, Bonisle Forever Grateful 9mth brindle, ,This puppy is also of great quality for her age with great head proportions viewed from all sides, dark round eyes, I just preferred the expression on 1, muscular neck straight front , feet to tighten as she matures, muscular neck , straight front onto correct shoulders, cobby muscular body, nicely put together looked lovely in profile and in great condition , good rear quarters, moved out steady for her young handler .

3rd – Morison’s, Xandene Knew You were Waitin for Balistix

Puppy Bitch - 7:0

1ST – Tonkin, Pellow & Pellow’s, Rosanyos Lets Salsa Once again another quality fawn youngster of just 11mths, not quite as much of her as 2 but everything was in proportion, she has the most beautiful balanced head of correct proportions, with the darkest of eyes giving off the most kind expression which made me smile, she is totally balanced for her age, ears set on high, her neck is muscular of moderate length onto correct shoulders, straight front, correct topline with slight roach, nicely developed hind quarters, a promising youngster who took it in her stride, I am sure she will have a bright future ahead of her, I will watch her progress with interest.

2nd – Korennaja’s, Wildax Rowendale Christmas Pudding 10mth puppy nicely balanced throughout, overall just a little more of her than 1, she has a lovely head with a nicely padded muzzle and good pigmentation, dark eyes with an appealing expression, correctly set bat ears, muscular neck of moderate length, onto good lay of shoulder, body cobby and in lovely condition, good rear quarters looked lovely in profile, these two could change places on another day.

3rd – Thornton’s, Zinblistic Oh It’s Magic

Junior Bitch - 7 :3

1ST – Bryants, Archness The Drama Llama: 16 mth brindle beautifully presented in hard pristine condition and correctly balanced throughout, she has a typical square head, a nicely padded square muzzle, nicely developed cheeks with a good underjaw and dentition, correct dark round eyes set wide apart giving off the loveliest of expressions, neatly placed bat ears set upright and parallel, nicely arched muscular neck onto correct lay of shoulder, straight front, well off for bone, nicely compacted feet, body cobby with good spring of rib and a gentle roach, good rear quarters with well let down hocks , I admired this bitch from when she entered the ring, pleased to award her a much deserved RBB

2nd – Wynne -Eyton’s, Rosanyos Lets Tango, beautiful fawn slightly longer and not quite the cobbiness of 1 but I still liked her very much, lovely feminine head of correct proportions with the most appealing dark eyes, nicely muscled neck, nicely developed front, feet to tighten, great rear quarters which she used to her advantage on the move.

3rd – Sarkissian’s, Castle Allen Nancy Wheeler

Novice Bitch – 4:1

1st Thornton’s, Onlyfrenchie Elna Zimblistic 18mths Fawn - square head in proportion with her body, good width of muzzle with evident cheeks, great pigmentation, correctly set dark round eyes, her bat ears were open and set more parallel than 2, strong muscular neck, set on correctly placed shoulders, well off for bone and her front is straight with tidy feet, more cobby in build than 2nd possibly needing to lose a little weight from her loin, she had great muscular rear quarters with correct let down hocks, she moved effortlessly around the ring . .

2nd Nash’s, Zimblistic Ice Ice Lady. 3-year-old fawn who didn’t appear to be enjoying her day. Pleasing head qualities, square broad muzzle with great pigmentation, nicely developed cheeks, correct evident stop, bat ears of medium size, dark round eyes, her front is straight with firm pasterns, nicely arched neck with good layback of shoulders, strong cobby body with a gentle roached back, strong rear quarters, looked lovely in profile once she settled.

3rd Korennaja’s, Starkor Bambi Bounce

Post Grad Bitch - 6 :2

1ST –Thornton’s, Zimblistic Paris 2 year brindle who has beautiful head qualities of correct shape when viewed from all angles, good width of muzzle great pigmentation, dark round eyes set wide apart giving off a beautiful expression this being one of the qualities that won her the class, muscular neck onto correct shoulders , straight front with adequate width of chest, good bone , nicely bodied up for her age great rear quarters when stood which helped to complete the picture . She moved out steadier than 2 for her handler.

2nd –Hunts’s, Rischale Octavia 21 mth brindle, just a little stronger in head than 1 of correct proportions, nicely padded square muzzle beautiful dark round eyes, correct parallel set ears, muscular neck onto good lay of shoulder, the straightest of fronts , good bone, cobby body with enough spring of rib, strong muscular rear quarters, overall in great hard condition, not as settled on the move as 1.

3rd – Vearncombe & Hales, Ruption Knightcott Back in Black

Limit Bitch - 5 :0

1ST -Smith’s, Rischale Henrietta at Ellouab dark brindle bitch who looked fabulous in profile and she had the most beautiful head of correct proportions with nothing overdone, her eyes are dark round and set wide giving off such an appealing expression , ears bat like, set on high and parallel, strong neck of moderate length onto correct shoulders, straight front of good width, tight feet, cobby body with just enough spring of rib and gentle roach, nicely muscled up and in pristine condition, balanced rear quarters, moved out effortlessly winning her BB /RBIS

2nd Tonkin, Pellow& Pellow’s, Poison D’aacebo Mystic Symphony at Rosanyos (imp) fawn bitch who didn’t let her handler down, she has a beautiful head of correct proportions with not too much wrinkle in between her fairly flat skull, she has great pigmentation with the darkest most exquisite eye, ears set neat and parallel, moderate muscular neck, front straight , well off for bone ,neat feet, shoulders spot on, nicely bodied up with gentle roach over loin, great rear quarters of strength, looked stunning in profile, moved out steady.

3rd – Sarkissian’s , Castle Allen Nancy Wheeler

Open Bitch- 4:2

1ST – Krall’s, Jafrack Sugarrush fawn bitch who has a lovely outline, presented in great condition, feminine square head of correct proportions , broad and deep, with evident cheeks, slightly more wrinkle than 2 preferred her, upright, parallel, set on high ears to my 2nd, nicely muscled neck , good front assembly tightish feet, nicely compacted cobby body slight roach with good spring of rib, rear quarters ok moved steady

2nd – Tonkin Pellow & Pellow’s, Ch Rosanyos Sevillana JW: brindle of excellent quality and type. She has a beautiful head of correct proportions, correctly set, round dark eyes, good width of muzzle square and in proportion with her body, straight front, correct width and depth of brisket, body cobby muscular and in great condition, rear quarters ok moved out steady handled to her best advantage by her young handler.

Veteran Bitch- 5:2

1st - Roach’s,Ch Roalice Mini Mouse ShCM 9 ½ year veteran in fabulous condition and so well made in body and shape for her age and she didn’t let her owner down on the table or on the move. I have followed this bitches career from when she was a puppy when she use to attend training classes, she has always had a lovely presence about her and never lets her handler down. She has a beautiful correctly proportioned head, just a little too much wrinkle on her head for me but she makes up for this in body, profile and movement. She has a typical head of correct proportions, dark expressive eyes, ears carried high and parallel, good width of muzzle in proportion to her body which is cobby and muscular and in great condition, straight front good strong rear quarters which carried her effortlessly around the ring . I was pleased to award her Best Veteran Bitch/ Best Veteran in show.

2nd Thornton’s, Bountiful Bess 7 ½ year brindle not quite as short in loin as 1, nicely balanced head, dark eyes , correct ears , nicely muscled for her age, didn’t let her owner down.
