Vulnerable Native Breeds Open Show

Gordon Setters I am very grateful to have been able to judge at this

prestigious show. Many thanks to the committee who invited me and the ring stewards who helped run everything smoothly in the rings. I had a super day and appreciate the quality of exhibits and their owners for bringing them to the show.

P (5,2) 1 Sandiford’s, Hernwood Love Portion. Super 10m bitch puppy.  I liked everything about her. A pleasing expression with a well shaped head. Good reach of neck and laid back shoulders.  A well proportioned body which excelled in forechest and depth of chest. Super topline. Good angulation. Strong hind quarters giving rise to a positive hind action and drive on the move. BP. 2 Williams’, Longrow Love is the Drug. Another pretty bitch puppy of 10m old. A finer build than 1st puppy but nevertheless a good forechest and brisket. Good neck and shoulders and nicely shaped body with good angulation Moved well around the ring.Williams’ Longrow Jean Genie. 

 J (2,0) 1 Whiting’s, Locksheath Aprilin Paris. Good profile and nicely shaped bitch . Feminine head with dark eye. Good shoulders and topline. Liked her forechest and depth of chest. Good length of upper thigh leading to well angulated hind quarters. A steady mover. 2 McCarthy’s, Hernwood Wizard of Oz. A lovely strong boy and close up to 1st. Masculine head with dark eyeand soft expression.  Good spring of rib, depth of chest. A level topline and moved with good hind action.  

L (9,8) 1 Mapping’s, Bryerdale Quangeroo (AI). A 4yr old bitch in good coat who stood out for her presence. A well structured head with good stop and dark eye. A mature body which was well balanced with good spring of ribs. Good topline and angulation. Moved well covering the ground. 2 Alpe & Abram’s, Amscot True Lies (AI). Good overall balance with a pleasing profile. Pretty head and overall feminine appearance. Well developed body. Nicely angulated with a level topline. A sound mover. 3 Sandiford’s Hernwood Christmas Eve. 4 McCarthy’s Hernwood Boston High Flyer. 5 Wrigley’s Kattandale Blac Highlander (AI). 

O (8,4) Sandiford & Mazzeo’s, Hernwood Christmas Prince. An eye catching dog in his prime. Masculine but very elegant and with a beautiful full coat.  Well presented. Good head structure with a kind expression.  Excellent body with ample forechest and depth of chest. Well sprung ribs. Level topline and strong hindquarters. Good angulation throughout. Flowed around the ring with very positive hind action and drive. BOB  2 Mappin’s Bryerdale Qookabuur (AI). Lovely feminine bitch with the presence and accolades of her litter sister. Pretty head with darkeye. Mature in body and coat with good spring of ribs and level topline.  Nicely angulated. Moved very well with sound hind action. RBOB  3 Michala’s Kyuna Dream Merchant. 4 Garbett’s Langstrumpf Hochsummer.
