Leicester City Canine Society

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

Many thanks to the exhibitors for their entries, a super entry of quality dogs and some classes were not easy to judge. Great quality even though a small entry. Thank you to the Society for asking me and to my two excellent stewards, one of whom had had a knee replacement less than a month ago.

PUPPY (2) 1. Bubb’s Sweetbriar Heirs And Graces. Fell in love with this beautiful Blenheim, such a sweet face and expression, totally could have taken her home! Correct head, with a shallow stop, and the correct ratio to tip of nose. Large dark eyes, spaced well apart. Nicely set ears with enough feathering for her age. Moderate chest, short coupled, level back, good tail set, moved really well. Loved her BPIB 2. Brewer & Moody’s Bowfort Kay Tara Tara. Very immature puppy at her first show I believe, did not have the head of 1st and didn’t move to her best advantage. JUNIOR. ((3, 2ab) 1. Ryan’s Cavillibrook Ophelia JW. Blenheim with beautiful outline, well balanced and full of herself. Lovely head, with correct eye large dark and round, well developed lips, and nicely set ears with good feathering. Nice length of neck into well laid shoulder. Good body length with level back. Moved well, with plenty of drive. Liked her a lot. YEARLING. ((4, 1 abs) The hardest class of the day. Liked all three for different reasons. 1. Rees’ Cavallibrook Desdemona At Parcauwen. Blenheim, won this class on her stunning movement, lovely head, well tapered muzzle and well padded below the eyes. Correct ear set and lovely feathering. Neck slightly arched, nice topline and correct tail set and carriage. Nice shape in profile, 2. Floyd’s Laurami Comfortably Numb. Another lovely Blenheim, with a slightly heavier head than I prefer, but good dark round eyes, set correctly. Good topline, and correct length. Just preferred the movement of 1st. 3. Day’s Julchrisgor I Am Sweet. POST GRAD. (2, 1abs) 1. Surman’s Harama Joan Jett. Black and Tan with a pretty head, and good ear set with super feathering. Nice outline, correct for size and short coupled. Full of herself and enjoyed her day out. OPEN. (5, 1abs) 1. Ryan’s Cavillibrook George Ezra JW. Wow, what can I say about this superb Blenheim that hasn’t already been said. Super head with excellent skull with correct stop, lovely head markings with desired lozenge spot, super dark round eyes set correctly, good muzzle well padded under the eyes. Strong jaws, with well developed lips and correct bite. High set long ears with good feathering. Lovely arched neck leading into well laid shoulders, lovely chest and correct moderate bone on straight legs. Short coupled with good spring of rib, level back. Well turned stifle and movement to die for, absolutely super reach and drive, and parallel movement lacking in so many. Lovely coat, plenty of feathering. Just loved him. BOB and very happy to hear he won the Toy Group and went on to win Best In Show. 2. Surman’s Cavaliegh Kennedy Another nice dog who I liked very much, unlucky to have met the 1st as many attributes I liked about him. Nice masculine head, with good neck and topline. Nice front and rear movement. 3. Day’s Julchrisgot Just Angel.
