Cheshire Agricultural Society

Firstly, thank you to the committee for the opportunity to judge at this prestigious show, delayed a couple of years due to covid. Secondly, a big thank you to the exhibitors for such a quality entry and for braving the terrible weather. I did make some allowances on movement as the rain came harder. All the dogs were beautifully presented which is a testament to your hard work in keeping them dry

Puppy (3,1abs) Two nice puppies here.
1st Owen’s Marwessett Ysobel Enigma at Cornsett
OB with a lovely head and expression with defined stop. She is very balanced for her age. Lovely shoulders and level topline. Well placed shoulders and correctly angulated front. She has good depth and spring of rib. Her rear is well angulated of good width. On the move she scored in profile. BP
2nd Miller’s Ravensett Calvaro
Another attractive OB with lots to like. Pleasing head and expression with good eye shape and colour. Slightly arched neck and well laid shoulders. Well boned with good feet. Nicely angulated at the rear. He was giving his handler a hard time standing, but moved well.

Junior (5)
1st McDowell’s Moorbrook Miss Marple Avec Byedales
Feminine bitch with a balanced head and good ear set. She is well constructed front and rear with deep rib and well placed elbows. Nicely boned and in good coat and condition. Firm topline and nicely set tail which she used on the move. She went well up and back but showed herself off best in profile.
2nd Stephenson’s Mariglen Wave Dancer For Bondgate
Mature girl of balance. She has a muscular neck and well laid shoulder, leading to a good topline and tails set. She has deep, well sprung ribs and good loin. She has mature coat and good feathering. Moved well once settled.
3rd Howarth’s Moorbrook Owdid Thatappen

Graduate (3)
1st McDowell’s Moorbrook Miss Marple Avec Byedales
2nd Kelly’s Edge Of Dreams at Archenset
Upstanding tri dog of substance. Pleasing head with good eye. He is balanced in his overall angulation with good rib and deep brisket. He has strong bone and is short in pastern at the rear. He moved well but I would like to see him in a bigger ring.
3rd Welburn’s Oshowa Dream Come True

Post Graduate (1)
1st Kelly’s Cornsett The Wise One
Up to size but nothing coarse about him. Oval skull and clean lips. Strong, clean neck and well placed shoulders. He has good return of upper arm and is well boned. Good depth and string of rib with well placed elbows. He has good body length and short loin. His rear matches his front enabling him to move with a free action, another I would like to see in a bigger ring.

Limit (2)
1st Kelly’s Cornsett You My Everything
Litter brother to the PG winner and similar remarks apply. He has lovely balance through his body and is correctly angulated. He has quality bone and good feet. Strong, square loin and good tailset. On the move he was a little close behind but in profile he really opened up, showing plenty of drive. RBOB
2nd Forrest’s Walshaw Illumination Over Elvistar
Pretty bitch, lovely head an expression with well placed ears and good eye. She is well constructed all round showing good depth and spring of rib with good loin. She is a little soft after a litter and I would like to see her again when she’s fully recovered. On the move she was true going away but a little wide coming towards, in profile she showed good drive.

Open (3,1abs)
1st Welburn’s Culverwell Sea Breeze at Oshowa
BB bitch with a really nice outline. She is clean in head and neck, with a lovely expression. Her shoulders are well laid which flows to a level topline, slightly arched loin and correct tailset. She is deep in rib which is correctly sprung. Well bent stifle gave her drive from the rear. In super coat and condition. I liked her overall balance and type. BOB
2nd Kelly’s Alolfrana Memphis Rock
Nicely headed dog with good expression. He has good shoulders and deep rib with clean elbows. His rear is well angulated with short pasterns. He is in full coat and good condition. On the move he lacked enthusiasm which resulted in him being a little close behind and sluggish in profile which was understandable in the rain.
