Waverley Gundog Association Gundog Open Show

12th November 2023

A very warm welcome by all committee for my first visit to Scotland. Hospitality was fantastic and my steward for the breed, Heather, looked after the ring and me in a very kind and professional manner.

Puppy 6/3

1st Campbell Binnaig Buppsala A very smart black bitch, completely at one with her handler for just 10 mths and best mover of the day. A beautiful feminine head with good eye colour and melting expression. Great reach of neck to well placed shoulders. Leg length good with tidy feet, nice tuck up with spring of rib under a full well textured coat. Moved with drive from her powerful rear end topped with correct otter tail. Happy to give BP

2nd Tulloch Binnaig Bonnach for Tullochmohr Yellow dog, litter mate to BP. Super expression again, used his ears well, broad head coming but not over done in anyway. Good pigment and a rich yellow coat of good texture. Good shoulder lay and plenty of bone on length of leg. Slightly longer cast with spring rib and strong rear movement. Moved with ease for handler.

Junior 4/2

1st Park Kinchyle Bedazzled 14mth black bitch caught my eye straight away. Another with super feminine head and eye shape with good colour. Good reach of neck and and legs placed well under, with bone and tidy feet and well arched toes. Loved her size, compact and fit looking with good barrel ribs and shiny well textured coat. Good rear angulation allowing drive and clean movement. Pleased to award BOB

2nd Tulloch Binnaig Bonnach for Tullochmohr

Graduate 4/2

1st Mallin Wynfaul Second Edition Black dog who gave owner hard time settling, however once moved well allowed assessment of a well-built dog with broad head and enough reach of neck. With a good coat, well off for bone and enough angulation at rear.

2nd O’Neill Ramsayville GiGi at Taligal Black bitch more settled in this class than Junior. Sweet expression and correct eye colour. Not quite enough depth to chest, however carried a level topline moved ok would prefer more tone in rear to improve drive, coat good.

Limit 4/1

1st Mallin Elisabeta Red Teddy Dark yellow boy lovely eye colour which complimented his full coarse coat. Good reach of neck, moderate spring of rib carrying no excess he moved ok with a swishing otter tail

Open 4/1

1st Brown Farbrae Good To Go Strong yellow boy enjoying his day! A broad head and good expression, a slightly shorter muzzle with well defined stop. Strong neck and an excellent coat. leg length good with plenty of bone and tidy feet. Toned boy he moved with real drive on good, angulated rear, carrying a great otter tail.
