Wigton & District Canine Society Open Show – Sunday 28th May 2023

Judge – Mrs Kelly Lee (Kelrick)

I would like to thank the committee of Wigton & District Canine Society for inviting me to judge at their show and my steward Christine Clark for organising the ring efficiently for me. It was a lovely show and although the entry was badly affected by two other local open shows, the quality of exhibits at Wigton show was excellent. Thanks to all the exhibitors who came today. I appreciated the opportunity to go over their lovely dogs.

Miniature Pinscher

O: (1,0) 1. Urwin’s Vickstock Wow Aneeva. 7 month old bitch. A spirited puppy with lots to like. Lovely head with expressive black eyes, black nose, well set ears, strong jaws and a correct scissor bite. Square body, well sprung ribs and straight back line, ample bone. Well angulated and moved well in all directions. A well balanced, elegant puppy who was a joy to go over and clearly loved to show. BP & BOB & G1 & PG1

CKCS

PG: (3,1) 1. Deamer’s Cavallibrook Evanly Kiss at Bankshill. 15 month old Blenheim bitch. Plenty of soft, silky coat with well broken markings. Pretty head with good pigmentation, correct dentition, well feathered leathers. Good reach of neck set into well laid shoulders. Well angulated and moved with good reach and drive. Very attentive to handler.

2. Waddington’s Spindlepoint Gertie Jekyll. 7 month old Blenheim puppy bitch. A lovely exhibit with a lot to like. Lovely head with round, dark expressive eyes, good pigmentation, enough cushioning and well set ears. Teeth and bite correct. Gave her handler a hard time today and it was difficult to assess movement but moved well when settled. BP & PG2

O: (1) 1. Spindlepoint Nancy Reagan. 3 year old Blenheim bitch. A bitch I have judged before and one I still admire. Her personality shone through today and she was clearly enjoying herself. Beautifully presented with a soft, silky coat and well broken markings. Very attractive head with melting expression. Round, dark eyes, good cushioning, excellent pigmentation and skull almost flat between well set ears. Good angles to front and rear and she moved with grace and elegance around the ring. BOB & G4

Pomeranian

O: (1,0) 1. Barros’ Gordost Oskola Yulik (Imp Rus). 19 month old dog. Well presented with attractive foxy head, dark eyes, good pigmentation and small erect ears. Compact and short-coupled, well ribbed with a fairly deep chest and fine boned legs. Moved briskly around the ring. BOB & G2
