1st Read’s Keigame Signe. Alone but a worthy Best of Breed. Lovely type, good clean cut head, very balanced in angulation, super layback of shoulder, well ribbed back and short in loin, well muscled, really driving around the ring covering plenty of ground with good tail carriage.

1st Terry’s Shaggylands Sexy And I No it. A well grown 10 month old bitch with a lovely head, good eye, square in muzzle, good sloping shoulders, well boned with super feet. Strong in the body with well sprung ribs. Moved steadily. Best Puppy.
Junior (3,1)
Ist Bacon’s Timbric Doris Day Lovely 12 month old bitch, strong and compact, well balanced all through. Super head with a good eye and expression. Well off for bone and thick padded feet. Well developed in chest with deep well sprung ribs. Super quarters providing plenty of drive on the move. Best of Breed.
2nd Terry’s Shaggylands True Colours litter brother to Best Puppy. With a super masculine head with lots of work in it, at this stage slightly longer in body than his sister, but moved very well. Another promising puppy.

1st Barber-Ball’s Kalispell Couer de Lion. A masculine well proportioned head, strong all through, moderate length of neck, well boned with good feet, a sound happy mover.
2nd Terry’s Shaggylands Jessica Jay I thought this would be my class winner as in outline she is super, balanced angulation, text book forehand; muscular neck into finely sloping shoulders, strong and compact in body. Sadly not happy on the move today.

1st Adshead’s Afonbach Syrex JW 13 month old bitch presenting a most balanced outline, pretty head clean in skull, slightly wedge shaped with flat cheeks, ears set high and well back on skull, good neck set into well laid shoulders, good in body and well developed for age, well set on tail, moved impressively for one so young. Best of Breed.
2nd Stait’s Afonbach Balerion Litter brother to 1st and another with a good head, slightly longer cast than his sister but in super coat and condition and moving well.
3rd Beadling’s Danehaven Savalette

1st Wardrope’s Alter Ego Rusty Fox (imp Cze.) A nicely balanced dog with a good head and expression, good in body, good bone and neat feet, good tailset and carriage showing good reach and drive on the move. Preferred the neck and shoulders of the winner of graduate.
2nd Stait’s Acadiabyrne The Bakers Son. Another nice dog in a smaller package. Moving OK but could not match the class winner today.

1st Stephenson’s Mariglen Wavedancer for Bondgate. Lovely head, long and lean with plenty of work in it, super topline, good bone and feet, moving well. Best of Breed.
2nd Taylor’s Kanietter Kocoa. Slightly rangier than the class winner, but with a lovely gentle head, with good expression. Moved a little erratically on the sloping grass.

1st Ashley-Turner’s Hernwood The Botanist. Quality dog, good head and expression, good in neck and shoulders, moderate length of body deep in brisket in excellent coat and condition, moving well with good carriage. Best of Breed & Gundog Group 4.
Irish Red and White Setter
Open (3,1)
1st Jackson’s Taxus Rising Spring. Very pretty youngster, well balanced in angulation, deep in chest, strong in bone but could have neater feet, effortless movement covering the ground well.
2nd Gibson’s Coolfin Aoife. Pleasing in head, good in body well ribbed and firm in loin, moved well in profile, could be tidier coming towards.

1st Nevitt’s Joaodaws Stargazer. A well put together youngster with a beautiful, balanced head, refined with fine chiselling. Slightly arched neck set cleanly into shoulders, straight front and neat feet, good topline. Moved steadily driving from the rear. Best of Breed.
2nd Sloane’s Ferasheen Hot Proper Tea. Smart puppy, handsome in head, well developed in body moving well. Best Puppy and Puppy Group 4.

1st Ewart’s Parlickview Blaze of Glory Over Beaupippin JW. A lovely balanced bitch with a pretty head, dark pigment and gentle expression. Good bone and feet, excellent forehand, well ribbed, moved straight and true.
2nd Wright’s Palton Platino. Close up to 1st. This young male has a good head, strong in body, well off for bone and neat feet. Moving well in profile with a long stride.
Postgraduate (6,4)
1st Maddison’s Jaymardy Sweet Caroline JW. A bitch of good substance, shown in hard condition, Well balanced with a good head, strong neck flowing into good shoulders. Deep in chest and well bodied. Moved very well to take Best of Breed.
2nd Burrows’ Dilworthey Secret Santa. Another nice male with a masculine head showing good pigment, not as good in forehand as the winner but moved steadily.

1st Mcnaught, Andrews & Blades’ Malanis Bettina At Risalpur. Smart, compact young bitch with a super head good in length and width, strong muzzle with well developed nostrils. Better in forehand than 2nd showing good width and deep in chest, barrelled ribs, well boned legs with good feet. Moving soundly with reach and drive.
2nd Williamson’s Finchsmill Secret Surprise. Another young bitch with lots to like but some maturing to do still. Slightly finer all through than the class winner and could not match her in movement today.

1st Mcnaught, Andrews & Blades’ Eldarrah Dream Of Spring. Quality, mature 6 year old bitch that oozes breed type. Beautifully made all through. Lovely head, great forehand and matching rear angulation, depth and width to chest, great spring of rib and mature in body. Excellent movement, holding her topline, finished off with a good coat. Best of Breed and later Gundog group 1.

1st Calvert’s Calvdale Dramatic Effect. A quality puppy bitch attending her first show. Pretty head with lots of work in it, with a kind expression. Good length of neck leading into sloping shoulders, good width in front and elbows set well. Already well developed in body, good in hindquarters, carried her tail correctly on the move. Best Puppy in Breed and Puppy Group 2.

1st Chandler’s Elazlan Tribal Craft. Young male full of breed type, good head proportions, lots of work in it, kind in eye and expression. Clean in neck and shoulders, well balanced in angulation, good bone and feet, moving well both ways and super in profile. Lovely coat and condition.

1st Calvert’s Calvdale Ever Thus JW. Super in type, this quality young male was a joy to go over. Not the flashiest of dogs but so well put together. A super head and expression, strength in foreface and well placed ears. His neck flows into super shoulders, a good front, strong in body, well sprung ribs, firm in topline and muscular loin. So well balanced, it all comes together on the move. Best of Breed.

1st Mowbray’s Crumbledor Bella Lestrange. This mature bitch was carrying a few extra pounds. She is good for type, nice head, with clean eye, super in coat and colour. Moves very well with effortless drive. Best of Breed.
Spanish Water Dog

1st Thompson’s Sh Ch Prizelands Fondant Fancy At Cooishka JW. This super quality bitch was presented in a clipped coat and it was easy to see how beautifully balanced she is. Gorgeous head, strong but elegant, expressive eyes. Muscular in neck, set well into shoulders, good angulation, strong bone. Strong in body, chest is deep, ribs well sprung. Moving really well with powerful drive. Best of Breed and Gundog Group 3.
2nd Thompson’s Kurlibears September Truffle At Cooishka. Another quality bitch who appeals in type. Lovely in head and is balanced all through. Moved soundly but could not match her kennelmate today.

At this point it was cold, windy and raining and I thank the exhibitors and their dogs for their forbearance. My notes were brief at this point.
1st Irish Water Spaniel
2nd Welsh Springer Spaniel, Chandler’s Waverleyline to Millport. 2 year old bitch, well balanced, lovely head, moving well, in good coat and condition, well handled.
3rd Spanish Water Dog

1st Weimaraner, Robson’s Kalimor Washington at Robricci. Attending his first show this 6 month old is very smart and very well balanced for his age. He was sensitively handled to get the very best out of him and was quite spectacular on the move. I’m sure he has a good future ahead of him.
2nd English Springer Spaniel
3rd Hungarian Vizsla, Bradley and Hardcastle’s Castledogley Firenze. A feminine young bitch, I liked her head and expression, lovely in outline and moving well with a graceful trot.
