Special Classes

25th March 2023

Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge the ‘special classes’ at the Open Show 2023. I was delighted with the entry in both quality and quantity. It is lovely to see super dogs across the age groups. A huge thank you to the exhibitors for the pleasure of your lovely dogs.

Junior (6,1)

1. Miss Freudenreich - Rangali Shimmy Jimmy

Most appealing 8 month old red wheaten dog, a quality puppy showing so much promise. Found him to be typical in outline and sound in his construction. He has good body proportions, with super bone and substance, but with nothing overdone. He has an endearing head and expression, with skull and foreface being well proportioned, lovely cheeky dark well shaped eyes. His strong neck flowing seamlessly into a firm well held level topline, finishing with a tail which is set on high. Well developed through the body with a lovely spring of rib and short loin. Shown with a good harsh jacket, and beautifully presented by his young charge. Moving out well with precise and powerful strides

2. Mr & Mrs Jones - Laserna’s Greatest Show Man JW

Another with much to admire, 13 month old red wheaten dog. Liked his overall size and balance, just a fraction longer in loin than winner. He has a handsome masculine head, the skull shows the gentle arch, with well placed ears with such a gentle expression from his dark eyes. Good depth to the brisket, and standing on nicely boned limbs. Today not quite as firm in his topline. Strong hindquarters with a good width of thigh and short hock to heel. Well presented with a good coat texture. Moved with positive footfall and drive from the rear

3. Mrs & Miss Leech - Mochras Mahmalade By Jamchala

Open (7,2)

1. Mr & Mrs MacKay - Shiroblam Blue Ballerina

Very smart 19 month old bitch, full of quality and shows such a pleasing outline on the stack. She has lovely balance, and flows from nose to tail. She has a well proportioned head, nicely arched backskull, with strength to the foreface, dark kind eyes with good pigmentation. Chest is deep with a good spring to the ribcage. Standing on well boned legs onto tight feet. She holds a firm and level topline both stood and on the move. Strong hindquarters and nicely muscled thighs. Presented with a good coat texture and handled to advantage. She moves out purposefully whilst holding her outline

2. Leech & Thornton - Mochras Mahgaux

At only 10 months old this bitch, this bitch certainly knows how to show herself off. When stood her profile is proportionate and balanced. Feminine head with correct planes, strength to the foreface and well set on ears showing a nice fold. Eyes dark and gentle in the expression. Developing nicely through the body, with a firm topline and well set on tail. Moved out with good drive from the rear, just not quite as coordinated in front at present. Good harsh jacket and well handled.

3. Mr & Mrs Dunn - Shiroblam Foxy Dude At Khananga

Champion (6,0)

What a true honour to have a super class of top class champions to go over. Talk about having to knit pick between them for the placings! Delighted to have had the opportunity to have my hands on every single one – thank you

1. Mr & Mrs Allenby - Ch Rangali Yum Yum

Just loved her, 3 year old red wheaten bitch who looked a picture on the stack. Thought her just right for her femininity, size and overall balance. Her silhouette when stood is of a short-legged with a moderate length of back hound. Her head is balanced with a dark eye and most delightful expression, and neat well placed ears. Mature and well developed through the body, with a good fill in of forechest, depth to the brisket and well sprung ribcage. The loin is short and strong, giving a firm level topline to a well set on tail. Moved with purpose and precision. Presented in a beautiful harsh, dense and flat coat to finish the picture.

2. Mr & Mrs MacKay - Ch Shiroblam Rumba

Super 7 year old dog, with an impressive outline, he is a true workmanlike hound, who is all male and sturdy. He has a balanced outline with harmonious proportions. Handsome and balanced head shape, showing a nice arch to the backskull, and strength to the foreface, with dark expressive eyes. His strong neck flowing smoothly into a firm well held topline. Well developed in the forechest and chest is well let down with well sprung ribs. Lovely straight well boned legs onto tight feet. Hindquarters are strong with a good width of thigh which he used to advantage on the move to show good drive. Another with a good coat texture.

3. Miss & Mrs Leech - Ch/Ir Ch Gavelkind Conquistador By Jamchala
