I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this lovely show. I was delighted with the quality of dogs across the classes, a real pleasure to judge. A huge thank you to the exhibitors for the honour of your dogs

Afghan Puppy (1,0)

1. A Smith - Katanga’s Jessica Jones

Loved this 10 month old black & Tan bitch, she shows such maturity and dignity in her poise. When stood presents a pleasing outline. Pretty head, with a dark eye. Good length of neck with a decent depth to the brisket. Would like a little tighter ring, but tail carried well when she flowed around the ring with a spring in her step. Well presented and handled. Afghan Open (1,0)

1. K Lashkey - Forestbrook Joh Snow

Mature 2 year old cream with a black mask dog. When stood he has a shapely profile. Lovely head, masculine, good length to the foreface and a dark well shaped eye. Held a firm topline when stood, deep in the ribcage and a well bent stifle. But seemed to lose concentration on the move, so not flowing around the ring today

1. M Pocklington-Hall - Merlin Do Casal Dos Choupos (Imp Por) ShCM

Typical outline and much to like to this 5 year old dog, just right for size and balance. Masculine head, slight arch to the back skull, dark oval eye, and well set on ears. Good length of neck flowing into a firm level topline, liked his development of forechest and spring to the ribcage. Well set on and carried tail. Clothed in a harsh coat which is dense and flat. Moved with good drive and parallel behind - BOB

Beagle Open (4,0)

1. Foster & Jones - Stormpasture Saddlesoap

So much to like on this Lemon & White dog, at just 8 months of age he shows great maturity. Lovely and sturdy all through. Head still to come on as you would expect, but it shows good balance. Such a gentle expression from his dark eyes. Good length of neck with a slight arch, holding a firm topline. Deep in brisket and well developed in forechest. Nice round bone to the limbs onto tight feet. Strong hindquarters and well set on tail. Moving with drive and true – BOB & BP & Puppy Hound Group 2

2. H Gooderham - Saltcliff Ophelia

5 year old tri bitch, who was being a bit of a handful for her handler. She has a lovely outline, compact and sturdy. Typical in her head shape, with a good stop, and strength to the foreface. Strong muscular neck, deep chest, holding a firm topline and well angulated hindquarters . Showing lovely drive on the move

Borzoi (4,1)

1. A Conroy - Santerman The Way We Were At Enolam

Mature 4 year old red & White dog, who shows to have a balanced outline when stood. He has a dignified air about him. Masculine head, long and lean with a roman nose, and dark eye. He has a muscular slightly arched neck, nicely bladed bone, with a slight slope to the pasterns. Deep in the brisket and holding a correct topline with a graceful curve. Well angulated hindquarters with a good width of thigh. Moving with ease and true. Well presented - BOB

2. Mr & Mrs Dover - Palamedees Arian Khrysos At Keanver

Pleasing young White & Gold dog only 11 months old and presenting a appealing picture. Giving away a lot in maturity to the winner. Lovely head piece, long and lean, lovely dark kind eye and neat ears. Good length of neck, developing well in the body. Holding his outline on the move - BP

1. D Mason - Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckeltown

Rather taken with this shaded red bitch, 5 years old and looking a picture on the stack. Liked her overall balanced, and very feminine. She has an appealing head, showing good proportions and with a lovely dark eye. Moderate length of neck, lovely development of the ribcage, with a good pro sternum, and ribs carried well back. Holding a firm level topline with a well set on tail and good carriage. Shown with a lovely flat coat and well handled - BOB

Min S/H Dachshund Post Graduate (3,1)

1. A Mason - Collidach Hot Springs At Teckeltown

Lovely outline to this 2 year old brindle bitch, she has such a shapely silhouette. Most feminine of heads, with a kind dark almond shape to the eye. Good length of neck, flowing seamlessly into a firm well held topline. Well developed through the body, with a good depth to the brisket and prominent pro sternum ribs carried well back. Strong hindquarters which she put to effective use on the move in profile, just a little untidy behind when going away.

2. L Mills - Nisyros Lorenzo

8 month old Black & Tan dog, seeming a little tense in the noisy hall, as he was losing his topline today. Lovely head, with dark almond shaped eyes, broad mobile ears. Clean neck of good length. Deep in ribs and carried well back. Strong broad bum and well muscled hindquarters. Moving true fore and aft - BP

1. A Mason - Teckeltown You’re The One JW

Smart 4 year old Black & Tan bitch, who has a pleasing outline on the stack and shows lovely body lines and balance. Most feminine of heads, with good proportions, dark almond eyes, and high set ears all to give a kind expression. She has a slight arch to her long neck, which flows into a firm topline. Lovely depth to the body and ribs are carried well back. She has strong hindquarters, giving precise and powerful strides, clean and true in her action. Put down in lovely condition – BOB & Hound Group 3

2. I Potts - D’Arisca Desires A Porche At Klondyke

Pleasing 20 month old shaded red bitch. Very feminine, and showing good overall balance . She has a pretty head piece, with good length and correct proportions. Neck clean, well developed in forechest and brisket. Holding a firm topline both stood and on the move

Very feminine, and refined 16 month old bitch, with a pleasing balance when stood in profile. She has a lovely expression, head showing good proportions, well placed ears, and dark kind eyes. Her neck is of a good length, deep in chest and well developed pro sternum. Holding her topline both stood and on the move. Coat has harsh texture - BOB

2. J & A Stephenson - Bothlyn Mr Zeus At Wistex

Very raw 6 month old dog puppy, just needing to grow into his frame, which will come in time. Head nicely balanced, with a dark eye. Long clean neck, good depth to the brisket and prominent pro sternum. Nicely boned limbs. Strong hindquarters. A little erratic on the move today, but a happy mover

Deerhound Junior (5,1)

1. Mr & Mrs Pounder - Zeldini Link

Endearing 10 month old dog, who has a gentle nature and a shapely outline. Head developing nicely, with good length, nicely tapered, flat skull and lovely dark eyes. Good length of neck, and enough depth for his age. He holds his outline to show correct topline and fall away of croup. Hindquarters have a good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Show in a thick crisp coat, sound on the move – BP & Hound Puppy Group 4

2. J Morgan - Rushmill Pikeur

14 month old bitch, a little unsettled in the noisy hall, so not showing herself off to advantage. Of a different stamp to winner. Very feminine head, flat skull with well placed neat ears, dark eyes giving a kind expression. Enough depth to the ribcage, holding a good topline. Muscular hindquarters, moving out soundly

1. Mr & Mrs Pounder - Packway New York New York

2 year old bitch, liked her overall shape, size, and femininity. Appealing head, of good length with a slight rise, flat skull, neat ears, and dark gentle eyes. Ribcage deep and hold a good topline both stood and on the move. Good width to her quarters. Graceful and positive on the move

2. Constantine & Cumberland - Kaleginy Hyde taf

2 year old bitch, from a smaller mould that winner, but holding a pleasing outline. Balanced in her head proportions, flat skull, slight rise over the eyes which are dark. Enough depth to the brisket. Holding a good topline and well carried tail. Just not settled on the move

1. Mrs Constantine - Kwaricott Kaleginy Bettinsoli

Dignified 2 year old bitch, who has the desired amount of substance, yet retaining a graceful outline. Nicely balanced head, with a flat skull, slightly raised brows and dark kind eyes. Liked her flow, with a good length of neck, deep in brisket, forelegs straight onto well knuckled feet. Holding her topline both stood and on the move. Well muscled hindquarters, showing in her free and positive movement - BOB

Irish Wolfhound Post Graduate (2,0)

1. C Taylor - Bribiba’s Calamity Jane

Fell for this 14 month old wheaten bitch, she is so full of quality and sound in her construction. She has the desired size and substance but has that hint of elegance. Lovely feminine head of good length, dark gentle eyes. Her neck flows seamlessly into a firm well held topline, with forelegs well under the body. Standing on well boned limbs. Strength to her hindquarters with a good width of thigh. Free flowing movement – BOB & Hound Group 2

2. C Taylor - Bribiba’s Midnight Special

Litter sister to winner, and many of the same comments apply, just felt that the winner was a little more forward in development at present and a fraction more substance. But this black bitch also has a lovely outline and moved true and positively

1. N Wilson - Ruby Red Ember Of Bulawayo

9 month old bitch, who was not making things easy for her handler. At the awkward stage at present as she stands a little bum high, but time will settle her down and she will fill her frame. Liked her overall size and substance, lovely head, with a flat skull and strength to the foreface. Eyes toning well with the coat. Enough depth to the brisket, and shows a good ridge and crowns. Well muscled hindquarters. She was enjoying her day, which made it a little difficult to assess her movement, but glimpses of true and driving rear - BP

3 nice dogs in this class, which could easily swap places, all in super condition

1. E McIntosh - Benicloujam Lola Of Chagall

Showing herself off with confidence and style this 3 year old bitch looks a picture of balance with harmonious proportions. She has elegance, but also substance. Very feminine head, with a good broad flat skull, well defined stop, and clean close flews. Her neck flowing into a firm well held topline. She has a good depth to the ribcage and well developed in forechest. Standing on well boned limbs and compact tight feet. Hindquarters are strong and muscular which enabled her to drive around the ring showing a free and positive movement. Shown in lovely condition and at one with her handler. Delighted to award her BOB & Hound Group 1

2. I Scanlon - Kinabula’s All About The Bass JW ShCex OSW

Loved the substance of this mature lighter wheaten 5 year old bitch. She is so shapely when stood, with strength but feminine. Balanced head, with a lovely expression from her round eyes. Well developed in forechest and deep in brisket. Holding a firm topline, with super hindquarters showing a good bend of stifle and width of thigh. Moving soundly just not showing any sparkle

1. Mr & Mrs Bloomfield - Caryna Hyperion

Just 6 months old and a real sweetie. Already has an air of grace about him. He has a lovely shape, with a clean outline when stood. Pleasing head and expression, with good proportions and a lovely dark oval eye. Good length of neck, with a well held topline, depth about right for his age. Moderate in his hindquarters. Moving soundly, just a little unsettled - BP

Mature 6 year old Black & Silver dog, shown is super condition. Graceful in his outline yet having strength. Nicely balance head of good length. Long clean neck flowing into a firm topline. Good depth and fill in of forechest, and gracefully tucked up underline. Strong and muscular hindquarters. Moving out soundly - BOB

Super 9 month old grizzle & white dog, a quality puppy showing lots of promise. Very smart when stood and shows himself off well, being very self assured and full of verve. He has good overall proportions, and typical in outline. Lovely head, balanced, with a good stop, square in the flews and lovely dark oval eyes, framed by his beard and moustache giving such an appealing expression. Good length of neck, firm in topline, with a good depth to the brisket. Hindquarters show a good bend of stifle and width of thigh. He moved with enthusiasm and pizzazz – BOB & BP & Puppy Hound Group 1, & BPIS

2. C & T Cassentieri - The Impossible Girl of Alchez (Basenji)

Another lovely puppy, 10 month old tri bitch. Very graceful in her outline, showing good body ratios. Liked her head and expression, skull flat, nicely taping skull, well placed hooded ears, and dark intelligent eyes. Body nicely developed, holding a firm topline, standing on straight finely bone limbs, with a well curled tail. Moved with drive just not quite the cleanness of winner today

1. C & T Cassenteri - Zvezdny Alliance Genie In A Bottle (imp Ukr) (Basenji)

Classy brindle & White bitch coming up 2 years of age. Lots to admire on this bitch, very elegant and gazelle like. Nicely balanced head, with good wrinkle, lovely dark almond eyes, ears are hooded but would like a fraction higher set. Long slightly arched neck, firm topline with a good tail curl and shelf, a fraction longer in loin. Liked her hindquarters, strong and muscular. Moved with drive

2. D Fairhurst - Dougie Style Among Valefell (PBGV)

Loved the outgoing and happy nature of this 4 year old bitch, such a sweet demeanour. Liked her overall shape and balance, just carrying a tad more weight. Well proportioned head, super dark oval eye giving a kind and gentle expression. Deep in the body, tending to lose her topline. A happy and enthusiastic mover

1. A Conroy - Quarenta’s Life’s First Love At Enolam (Borzoi)

9 ½ year old white and red borzoi bitch. She has the most graceful and aristocratic air about her. Lovely long lean head, showing good balance of back skull to foreface, with a dark almond eye to give an aloof look. Super depth to the brisket, showing the correct topline and underline giving her a shapely outline. Good length to the hindquarters, she used these to advantage to effortlessly drive around the ring showing a slight spring to her step. Beautifully presented and handled – Delighted to award her BV hound, & BVIS

2. Mr &Mrs Hall - Kenquince Pisonia Of Cynami ShCM VW (RR)

Lovely 8 year old bitch, shown in fine fettle. She has such a balanced outline when stood, strong yet feminine. She has an appealing head, with a kind expression. Good length of neck flowing into a well held topline, brisket is well let down. Standing on well boned limbs and compact feet. Strong hindquarters and well muscled. She moved soundly, just lacked the enthusiasm.

Just loved her, she was such a happy and outgoing bitch and at only 8 months old is like an old pro and shows herself off with such confidence. Lovely head, well bodied and sturdy, keeping a firm topline. Moving with free flowing jaunty action

Only 6 months old, and showing good overall proportions. Pleasing head shape, with a dark eye. Good length of neck, well developed through the body, keeping a firm topline. Strong hindquarters with a good width of thigh. Moving out soundly for one so young

Liked the overall balance of this blue roan bitch, at 17 months is coming together nicely. Feminine head, with a dark kind eye. Good length of neck flowing into a firm level topline. Good depth to the brisket, and balanced angulation fore and aft. Moving out soundly and with lovely drive being a typical ‘merry cocker’

2. Mr & Mrs Fairley - Rossvale Wildest Dream (Shih Tzu)

A young dog I have seen before and very much like. A super dog with much to admire. At 13 months old this gold boy looks a picture on the stack. With a lovely head, well bodied, and in full bloom. Today I felt he lacked any enthusiasm, so not showing his typical arrogant air on the move

Beautifully presented 2 year old Black & White bitch. On the stack shows to be square in her outline. She has a feminine well proportioned head, with a good stop and dark round eyes. Body is well developed, with depth to the brisket and keeping a firm level topline. Moving out with purpose

Moved with drive, with a positive and true action

6 year old blue merle dog, who showed himself off to advantage. Well proportioned when stood. Pleasing masculine head, showing a blunt wedge shape, and balanced. Well sprung ribcage, holds a firm topline. Free flowing movement. Beautifully presented

Typical and balanced, this quality 4 year old yellow Labrador bitch is not flashy, but functional and workmanlike. She has lovely proportions, with nothing overdone and carrying the right amount of condition. She has a lovely flow from nose to tail, and is typical in her outline and of sound construction. Most feminine of heads, with lovely dark gentle eyes. Strong muscular neck, deep in brisket with a well rounded ribcage. She holds a firm topline both stood and on the move, with a well carried otter tail. Strong hindquarters, with a good width of thigh and bend of stifle. Clean and sound on the move, driving from the rear

Striking Wire Fox Terrier dog, just coming up 2 years of age, and full of spirit. Looked a picture on the stack, poised and ready for anything! He has an appealing outline, very smart and compact in his outline. Handsome head, well balanced with dark inquisitive eyes, neat small well set ears to give an alert and fearless expression. Good length of neck, flowing into his short and level topline to a well set on tail. He used his strong hindquarters to drive around the ring. Beautifully presented and well handled

Mrs & Miss Dalgarno - Vencharno Stuck On You (PBGV)

Very smart and stylish 9 month old PBGV dog. A real charmer and showing lots of character. A quality puppy with a shapely outline and so balanced. Lovely head, with an expression that melts you. Well developed through the body and stands on well boned limbs. Showed his socks off here to take the top spot. Moved with enthusiasm and pizzazz, carrying himself with poise, having a proud head and tail carriage.

What a delightful 7 month old black Newfoundland dog puppy. Combining strength and substance with a look of nobility. Lovely head, broad skull, strength to his squared muzzle and those lovely dark eyes to give such a gentle expression. His strong neck flows beautifully into a firm level topline. Good depth and spring to the ribcage. Super bone and large feet. Shown is lovely coat and condition. Moving freely and at one with his handler

So aristocratic in her bearing, this 9 ½ year old white & red Borzoi bitch, flowed around the ring on an effortless stride. So very feminine with a lovely long lean head, strong neck, deep in body and shapely top and underline. Presented in a lovely flat silky coat to finish the picture

Lovely happy go lucky temperament on this 7 year old red sable bitch. So willing to please her handler and show herself off. Standing she is proportionate in her outline being slightly longer. Feminine head with a slight doming to the skull and dark inquisitive eyes. Nicely developed through the body with a good spring of rib and holding a firm level topline. On the move she carries her head high, her tail gayly and struts around the ring in a quick moving action
