Welsh Springer Spaniels

I would like to begin with thanking the committee for their hospitality, superb lunch & gift. Thank you to everyone for giving me the opportunity to judge your lovely dogs.

P D/B (2,0). 1st Lewis & Moores’ Kidenoan Behind Marek Von Trannon Von Trannon, 10 months male, pleasant head & dark kind eye, good scissor bite, correct length of neck leading into good shoulder assembly & rear angles, balanced throughout with a rich red coat, stood on good legs & neat tight feet, moved ok, BP. 2nd Moores’ Kidenoan Standover Marek, litter sister to 1, feminine bitch well up on size, good front angulation, lovely coat & condition, preferred the overall balance of 1 on the day.

G D/B (2,0). 1st Moores’ Kidenoan Mark That Bird, pretty bitch, presented in full red jacket, good angles fore & aft, short coupled and balanced throughout, moved out well, to be super critical I would prefer a darker eye. 2nd Lewis’ Kidenoan Mark Up Von Trannon, litter brother to 1, loved the head on this youngster, very similar in outline to his sister, however he found today a little overwhelming & wouldn’t be assessed.

OD (3,0). Three very different veterans & a difficult class to judge, each one could change places another day. 1st Williams’ Sh Ch Isfryn Spot The Difference Trebettyn, All male, strong neck leading into a good front assembly, deep throughout, short coupled, adequate in rear angulation, not a flashy boy but covered the ground with good sound footfall to win the class, RBOB. 2nd Rees’ Hudolus Rhys Henllys At Typica ShCM, Beautiful headed male with a gentle expression, balanced throughout, lovely coat & condition, unfortunately his movement let him down today, needs a bigger ring! Jenkins’ Cwmbeili Morgan.

OB (3,0). 1st Johnstons’ Nalydris Hakuna Matata, caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring, a nice size lady with the prettiest of heads, correct bite, super reach of neck, leading into a cracking front assembly, lovely tight feet, good length of back, well-muscled in loin, super second thigh, overall she presents lovely balance from the tip of her nose to the tip of her wagging tail, she covered the ground with accurate, flowing movement, presented in good coat & condition, a happy girl, my star of the day & just my ‘cup of tea’, BOB & delighted to hear she gained G3, Well done! 2nd Moores’ Kidenoan Second Flite, Another pretty headed bitch from this kennel, presented in good coat colour & condition, good balance throughout, tight feet, put down in lovely hard condition, moved well, unlucky to meet 1. 3rd Moores’ Kidenoan Mark That Bird.
