Greyhound
PG 1. Rubicon’s Songird By Boughton (IMP USA) This is a quality brindle dog. Just coming out of puppy and quite mature for his age. Typical head and with powerful jaw. He exhibits the required overall shape with good length of back and not overdone in any way, correct slight arch to the loin. The best of bone and super feet. Good depth to his chest and well sprung rib. Lovely hind angulation and well-muscled hindquarters. This dog is clearly exercised adequately which is a delight to see. Moved with lovely free stride making the most of the ring. Correct footfall. I liked this young male very much. BOB. Well 2. Bubbly Diva. B/W 10 year old bitch who was in excellent hard condition for her age. Correct head of good proportions. Nice size for a bitch. Good neck into well placed shoulders, just didn’t have the topline of 1 and her hind action was not as precise as maybe it had been as a younger lady. Nevertheless a very nice veteran to go over. Open 1. Whirlaway All Fired Up at Boughton (IMP AUST). Quality red dog. Nice for size. Good head and expression. Well made front. Good bone and feet. Deep chest and well ribbed. A little flat in topline for me. Moved very well. Showed well as I believe he has not enjoyed the ring previously.

Pleasing head of ideal proportions with clean muzzle of strength. Excellent front with correct bladed bone and good feet. Topline correct and not extreme in any way and good well-muscled loin. To be critical I would prefer a fraction less hind angulation. Well-muscled throughout. Lovely footfall and correct gait. 2. Shalfleet River Lord 3. Another promising puppy and littermate to 1. Many of the attributes of 1 apply here, however not quite as mature and needs to gain more confidence. Nevertheless, one of lovely shape and size, not overdone in any way. Good hindquarters. Super type and good for overall size and proportions. Nice head. Moved very well, although might benefit from a little less portion at food time.
Tibetan Terrier
Puppy 1. Araki Fibber Magee At Evemylyn. The expression naughty but nice applies here. I thought this young puppy quite pleasing and a nice prospect. Very nice head of correct proportions and correct skull shape. Good muzzle with good strength of underjaw. Nice dark eye and correctly pigmented rims. Good ear set and size. Nice overall shape and square in outline. Good strong neck into good shoulders. Correct body proportions and well angulated hindquarters. Really gave handler a hard time. A bit overawed by the experience and could have used tail better, however when she moved, she was a good mover. Despite her exuberance I couldn’t deny her BOB over her kennelmate.
Yearling 1. Araki Devils Gold At Evemylyn. Another who might benefit from a fraction less exuberance. Nice type. Decent head and expression. Good body proportions, nice topline and tail set. Good bone and feet. Would prefer a little more topcoat at this age. Moved well.

Small ears carried well. Short neck into correct shoulders. Good length of leg and good cat like foot. Short backed and well ribbed up. Good hindquarters which are correctly angulated for the breed. Moved very well with a brisk free moving gait. Good harsh outer coat of correct length. Did all I asked of him today. Won a good toy group under me later in the day and then pulled out all the stops to annexe BIS under me in good company. I wish him well. 2 Sharhazlah Kamikazi Devil. Another very typy and typical male. Lovely overall outline. A little wider in front than 1 which cost him higher honours. Unlucky to meet 1 in such good form. Moved well.

English Springer Spaniels
Was delighted by the super entry in terms of quantity, thank you to the exhibitors for the opportunity. I thought that the quality was also very high in this entry. A pleasure to judge.
Puppy 1. L/W of excellent breed type. I liked this youngster and thought him quality throughout. Very nice head with breadth across the skull and of good length. Well worked head with pleasing dark almond eye affording the desired ESS expression. Good strong neck into well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest for a youngster. Nice overall shape, with pleasing topline and tailset. Good feet. Moved very well fore and aft. Still needs time to finish. BP. 2. L/W/Tan. Another promising youngster. Different type to one and heavier overall. Another with a lovely head of correct proportions. Good eye and correctly set ears which are nicely feathered. Good neck into well placed shoulder. Decent bone and feet. Well sprung rib with desired muscular loin. Nice hind angulation. Carrying a fraction too much weight for me today and not quite as together on the move.
PG. Large class. 1 . This dog was a standout for me in what was a very good class. Quality B/W who instantly appealed for his overall shape and balance. He is quite mature for his 13 months. This dog has a lovely head piece, with correct breadth of skull which is slightly rounded as required. Clean backskull and correct flat cheek. Nicely chiselled out and with good eye and ear placement, giving a pleasing expression. Good front and with excellent bone and feet. Super length of neck into the best of shoulders. Well sprung. Good topline and tailset. Correctly angulated hindquarters which are in no way overdone. Moved very well. With further maturity in my opinion this dog will do very well. I liked him very much BOB. 2. B/W. Similar type to 1 and another quality specimen. Lovely shape and size. Very pleasing head piece and good expression. Moved very well. Just preferred the tighter feet and the bone on the first placed dog.
Open.1. Another good but challenging class with a mixture of type present. L/W Decent dog with good breed type. Pleasing head and ear. Nice dark eye. Good neck and shoulder. Good topline and tail carriage. Well ribbed up. Hindquarters nicely angulated. Moved well although could be a fraction tidier in front for preference. 2. Another good specimen with lots to admire. Cocker Spaniels
Puppy. 1. Six month old quality black. Pleasing head proportions. Nicely chiselled with good strength to the muzzle. Good front assembly, good bone and nice tight feet. Correct body proportions. Could do with a bit more spring of rib to complete the picture. Moved well. 2. Another typical puppy. Pleasing head with good eye and ear set and length. Not quite the neck nor the shoulder layback of the first dog. Nice topline. Well ribbed. Could have a fraction more angulation in hindquarters for preference. Moved well.
PG . 1 B/W with a good head and expression. Good length of neck and excellent shoulder. Nice front with super bone and feet. Well ribbed up. Just dips a fraction behind the whithers. Good tail set. Nice hindquarters. Moved very well with typical action.

Typical topline and correct breed tail set. Well ribbed up. In good coat and condition. Nice side gait although a fraction wide in front, good drive from behind. BOB. Pleased to see him win the group later in the day against good competition. 2 Another cocker of good breed type. Pleasing head and expression. Nice for size and substance. Not quite the neck and shoulder of the first place. Good topline held on the move. Displayed that typical ‘cockery’ action.
Veteran Stakes. (44) Well filled class with a good number of excellent specimens. I was spolit for choice in my final 5. 1. Impressive tri basset male. Impressed for his overall type, substance and size. Very pleasing head piece with correct head planes. Correct ear carriage and size. Good eye and no excess haw. Good bone and nice feet for an older dog of his substance. Out moved the rest of this class and retained his topline at all times. In A1 condition. BV. 2. A very nice mini-long Dachshund. Maybe not in the best of jackets on the day but I forgave this for her other virtues. Very typy and good for size. Whilst not weighed at this show, she is a true mini. Good head of nice proportions, with correctly set eye placement. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders. Decent keel and correct front assembly. Good topline for her age which she held on the move. Correct tail set and moderate hindquarters. Seemed to enjoy her day out and moved very well.
BIS
A nice line up for BIS. I could find nothing to place over the pleasing Pomeranian which I had put through from the toy group and thus had to be that bit better. He really put all in and I was pleased to award him top honours. RBIS was the Cesky put through by Michael Blay. Having followed this breed since their recognition it was nice to see one top the group at this show. Having recently judged them at Leeds this one was a new one to me. I thought him very smart. Pushed the Pom hard with his very typical outline, good headpiece and ear set, and correct hindquarters. This dog is one of the soundest and robust Cesky I have seen move recently. I could easily award him a CC on this form. A close decision.
