BIS, Stakes and Hounds

Many thanks to the society for the pleasure of judging at this well supported and well organised show; this was my first time awarding Best in Show at open show level and an experience I will treasure for a long time. Grateful thanks to all exhibitors for the pleasure of judging your lovely dogs.

It is an ongoing challenge to find suitable venues for dog shows and the auction hall venue has a lot to offer however the cold temperature did impact on some exhibits.

Best in Show

BIS – Carrigan, Poseyhill Sir Isaac Newton at Carripom; junior male Pomeranian, small in size but completely owned the ring with his extrovert personality plus his movement was so free and active. Excelled in head and body shape, compact with correctly angled quarters and tail carriage. Super coat with desired frill and feathering. My ‘dog I would love to take home’ of the day.

RBIS & BPIS– Charlish, Gunalt The Hangover; 10 months male Weimaraner, this handsome powerful youngster was really breathtaking and very close up to BIS. Perfect maturity for age, well balanced and displaying lots of stamina moving. Super head piece, correct body proportions, topline and croup both standing and moving. I shall watch his progress, an absolute pleasure to judge.

RBPIS – Clayton, Glendream Maple Moon at Northdrum Naf Taf female JRT, unlucky to meet BPIS today and so much to admire. Super friendly temperament and active display. Lovely head and expression, correct ears and strong jaw. Good body proportions, well-boned and correct quarters. Covered the ground well.

Best Special Minor Puppy in Show – Lambert Seittor Voodoo Spell, Rottweiler bitch, beautiful example of the breed, fills your eye on general appearance and temperament alone. Super skull and head attributes, balanced proportions, substance and size. Good angulated quarters which was evident in her powerful and positive stride.
