Fabulous head and balance for age - 8 month. Excellent forehand. Pleasing topline. Good coupling and rump and tail set. Good bone and presentation. 2nd Ocean Dream Zum Tannenhof Black Bar (Leech & Green). Rear needs to strengthen. Head not the breadth of 1. Good for neck, bone and feet. Decent patches (Landseer) but whites need attention. Not the soundness of the winner. SY (3) 1st Mississipppi-Missouri Walking My Angel (Drakeford). Strong male. Scored in head, neck topline and bone. Good spring of rib and hard coupling. Balanced on the move. Understand he got his JW today. Well done. BP 2nd Nandobears Yabba Dabba Do at Mileoak (Leech & Green). Fabulous outline and nearly my winner. Not rear action of winner. Strong head with fabulous eyes. Well balanced. Good shoulder. Rather narrow rear action. 3rd Skycroft Violent Storm at Marukaru (Ainge) L (3) 1st Mileoak Loch Noir (Popple) Good head shape. Eye could be better. Well sent front and excellent front action and rear. Long ribcage and short loin. Rather longer in profile than I like. RBOB 2nd Sasquatch Zero to Hero (Drakeford). Enthusiastic male. Showing his tail well. Lovely head and eye. Good topline. Excellent bone and feet. Not moving as well as winner today 3rd Camnoire Charge (Pascoe & Courage) O (2) 1st Iron Man Canadian Pearl (Blahuta). Eye could be tighter but a fabulous dog and well conditioned. Good head shape. Good reach of neck, shoulder and topline. Rounded rump. Excellent overall proportions. Excellent tail set. BOB 2nd Bulawayo Faundland At Mileoak (Leech & Green). Landseer. Well prepared. Rathe lacking undercoat. Good head and eye. Good reach of neck. And topline. Not the rear action of winner. Old English Sheepdog SY (3, 1) 1st Mellowdee Fancy Nancy For Millwinkie (Miller) Square outline. Lovely head piece - board between the eyes. Good neck and shoulder. No sternum. Good bone and body. Moving freely - no rise. Very good on out and back. BOB 2nd Makaylen Majestic Lady (Adams). Narrower through head than winner. Good neck and upper arm but shoulder upright. Good bone and coupling. Very well prepared L (1) 1st Molyneux Sweet Dreams (Castle) Excitable. Not very square in outline. Head OK. Some sternum. Stands over a lot of ground. Good body and coupling. No rise. Very well prepared.RBOB O (2, 2) Basset Fauve De Bretagne Only one present but a good representative of the breed. O (2, 1) 1st Ch/Ir Ch Gavelkind Conquistador By Jamchala (Leech) 8 years old in good fettle. Such a sound lad. Well set front and elbows. OK for overall proportions. Excellent rear action and angles. BOB Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand) Sad about the number of absentees. O (2 1) 1st Ch Tarmachan Black Ice (Buchanan, Maclaren & O’Day)6 year old in good overall condition. Long head and ears. Bite OK. Clean neck into well set front. Good sternum. Topline retained on the move with free and easy side gait. Good tail set and good condition. BOB Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) P (2,1) 1st Overbecks Esme Shelby At Roxastan (Townsend) Lovely head and dark eye. Well set ears of requisite length. Good reach of neck. “baby” body but very sound on the move with waggy tail. Good quality jacket. BP L (1) 1st Beaujons Velvet (Wood) 5 year old in good jacket. Rather stuffy in neck on first view but actually a well laid shoulder. Moving with purpose. Good tail set. RBOB O (3, 1) 1st Afterglow Curtain Call Avec Roxastan (Townsend) Up to size male. Very well prepared. Good for bone and sternum. Larger than my preference but sound and in good jacket. BOB 2nd Beaujons Whisper (Wood). Correct sized bitch - 7 years old. Not the head or body proportions of the winner. Rather light eye. Shoulder OK but could have more neck. Good bone and agile mover. Basset Hound P (1) 1st Clanwillow Ace High (Jones). Lovely way to start the breed. Hugely promising youngster who when he tightens up will trouble the best. Long head with well placed ears and dewlap. Good sternum, topline and bone. Moving out purposefully with drive but needs to tighten up. BP SY (1) 1st Clanwillow Ace High. Repeat Puppy L (4, 1) 1st Beckshounds Luminara JW (Saunders) Petite bitch - a little lower slung than I would like. Well built body and muscular condition makes her satisfying to go over. Keeps topline on the move. Well set, very long leathers. Good bone and excellent feet. RBOB 2nd Clanwillow Back To The Future (Jones). Such a good typy dog and thought he would be my winner but a problem in the rear can not be ignored. Lovely noble head with good planes. Excellent neck, front and topline. Excellent bone and feet. 3rd Switzerland Gabriella At Stookewood (McLean) O (3) 1st Wellsbayview Sorrento (Sanders) Tri. Good head and well set leathers. Lovely neck and front. Moulded front with broad back and well muscled loin. Enough bone and not overdone in socks. Well set and carried tail. Good feet. BOB 2nd Clanwillow The Emerald King (Jones). Being totally uncooperative. Outline super. Lovely head piece. Enough sternum. Good bone and again not overdone for leg folds. Good shoulder and topline when settled. Moving erratically. 3rd Switherland Final Chase At Stookwood (McClean) AV Harvest Special Yearling Bitch Stakes 1st Daltricia Jane Austin. Shih Tzu. Impressive bite. Good body and tail. Moved with enthusiasm. 2nd Zefather’s Kind of Magic. Great Dane. In extremely hard condition. Statuesque in profile. Not liking the wind too much 3rd Ciadua Tamatoa’s Treasure Hazel Fitzgibbon
