Judge Ms Gretel Osborn (Elgert)

Thank you for the invitation to judge at this lovely show, we were blessed with wonderful weather which made the show run so smoothly, thank you to the Committee for making me so welcome and my lovely steward.

German Shorthaired Pointer

Puppy -1

1st Rymer, Sarscottah Easy Ryder at Rollenwood

8mths boy, good muscle throughout, clean eye and good shape to the head with good broadness to skull, but still refined and slightly round. Good side profile to planes giving the correct stop from side view. Clean neat neck leading into good shoulders and nice angulation. Body length ok and he sits well into his frame allowing him to sit well into the ground on standing. Good reach and drive on the move with power round the ring. BP

Junior -2

1st Rymer, Sarscottah Easy Ryder at Rollenwood

2nd Heath & Robinson, Sarscottah Easy Ryder at Rollenwood

Slighty shorter all round than the winner, preferred the front angulation on the 1st. Super dark eye and good pigmentation. Lovely tight feet and went round the ring well.

Post Graduate -3 (1a)

1st Anderson, Knabynnus Autumndays

Lovely older lady, all in proportion, clean neck and shoulder lines. Good shape when stacked standing over the ground well. Lovely rear angulation with correct hocks allowing good movement.

2nd Cooper, Braccpoint Maggie

Rangier all throughout than 1st, slightly apprehensive but settled well in the end.

Open - 2

1st Collins, Barlyarch Hoopla At Forestpoint

Nicely stood on good firm feet, good bone and substance. Correct length and strength in firm loin giving him the connection to really use his lovely strong hindquarters to move round the ring with ease. Lovely dark eye with such a kind expression. Pleased to award BOB

2nd Upton-Lovett & Upton, Seasham a Kind of Magic

Lovely shape and structure, slightly longer in back so not quite as strong on the move as 1st but top class and pleased to award the RBOB

Hungarian Vizsla

Puppy -1

1st Porter-Manning & Porter, Wallaroo Duncan Disorderly

Lovely looking dog, everything as it should be for his age, standing on good feet, adequate neck and shoulders and excellent rear angulation. Lovely straight hocks so allowing good stride in movement. Head is slightly heavier but has a good eye and clean chiseling BP.

Junior - 1

1st Elliott, Vizslanya Parrany for Zinniaviz

Slightly finer build throughout and feet not as strong and catlike as I would like. Good depth of rib with good short back and lovely strong rear angulation. Good head and expression with correct oval shape to eyes and lovely colour, mouth ok.

Post Graduate - 5

1st Elliott, Vizslanya Parrany for Zinniaviz

Smaller throughout but well proportioned all through. Slightly lighter in head, with slightly lighter eye. RBOB

Open - 1

1st Joyce, Ranchstar Vyvyan

A gorgeous 6 yr old who wanted to play the fool today! However, couldn’t detract from his lovely strong arched neck and good shoulder placement of correct width and nicely tight elbows. Good head and expression, muzzle the correct length to skull ratio with lovely shape to muzzle and flews. BOB

Labrador Retrievers

Puppy - 4 (1a)

1st McLellan, Saranden Piper

Pretty head and expression. Lovely angulation all through, though would prefer slightly higher on the leg but in good proportion throughout. She tends to sit down into her frame and once she masters holding herself correctly then I think she will flow better throughout. Lovely texture of coat and moved well. BP

2nd Young, Carromer Royal Dreamer at Potterspiney

Just lost out on hind angulation and not quite a strong as I would like. Good depth and spring of rib. Correct head giving such a lovely outline to her with intelligent expressive eyes.

Junior – 4 (1a) & 1 WD

1st Davis & Rowe, Rochevale Palm Reader

14mths bitch, would prefer her slightly firmer throughout but time on her side to tighten up. Super outline to her and outshone on movement today. Good head, clean cut and well defined stop, good breadth of muzzle, nice ear placement on her head to give a lovely expression.

2nd Atkins, Reynbank Midday

Just needs time to settle down and mature up. Nice shape but just not as mature as the winner.

Graduate – 5 (2a)

1st Mclellan, Saranden Montgomery

Heavier dog, however very soundly constructed. Good natural angulation when stacked and held his topline well on the move.

2nd 1st Davis & Rowe, Rochevale Palm Reader

Post Graduate - 2

1st Mclellan, Saranden The River

Just going out of coat but enough to show good type. Stood well with correct angulation, head lovely shape and depth to it with good broad skull. Shoulders a lovely angulation and strength to them allowing good front movement.

2nd Young, Potterspiney Optimist Vision

Lovely firm substance throughout. Nice tight feet and good rear angulation. Head of correct proportions and nice dark eye and nose pigmentation.

Limit – 2 (1a)

1st Young, Potterspiney Potterzuri Aramis JW

17mths old and a lot to like about him. He was so lovely and sound to go over, held his topline well on the move, head lovely and broad with a good square jaw depth to it, eyes giving that classic intelligent soft expression. Good length of back to height ratio so giving the impression of power and strength. Feet nicely tight and good pads, allowing a lovely foot fall when moving, using good rear angulation well. Tail lovely otter shape and used so well on the move. BOB

Open – 2

1st Mclellan, Saranden Pensacola

Chocolate boy – 3 yrs old. Overall balance good, with tidy feet and good rear angulation. Lovely expression. Good set on of tail and moved with drive. RBOB

2nd Robinson & Coddington, Potterspiney Killian

7 yrs old but not looking her age at all. She, however, slightly lost her topline on the move but everything else was correct with good footfall, slightly proud of her tail though.
