Thankyou to the committee for your kind invitation to judge Golden Retrievers at your show and for your warm welcome and hospitality. Thanks also to my Steward Karen Williams who did a grand job ensuring everything ran smoothly. Most importantly I must thank all the exhibitors for entering your beautifully presented dogs and bitches who clearly enjoyed their time in the ring with their happy waggy tails along with that joyful disposition Goldens are known for. All had correct scissor bites although a couple were carrying a little too much weight which sadly affected their movement.

1. Angell’s Linigor Seven Up at Millanza What a quality 8 months old dog puppy who has a beautiful pale cream wavy coat and is in super condition. He presents a very well balanced and muscled frame for one so young. My notes say ‘What a happy chap’ and this shone through with his ‘Look at me’ ring presence. He has such a gentle head with dark eyes and lovely pigmentation. He has a good defined stop and his ears are well set on. His front is straight with super bone, good length of upper arm with elbows tucked tightly into his deep chest. He has a super reach of neck which flows onto a dead level topline and tailset. His fore and aft angulations are equal with a good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. He moved with very good reach and drive holding his frame well. BP
2. Monteverde’s Olvinglay Gan Amhras Another happy eye catching youngster of 7 months who oozes quality and was presented beautifully with his pale cream coat gleaming in the sunshine. He has a bigger frame to fill than 1 so was a little loose on the move although I’m sure as he matures he will be a knockout. He has a gentle masculine head with dark appealing eyes and great pigment. A lovely reach of neck onto well layed back shoulders with a good length of upper arm and elbows tucked neatly into his chest. His front is straight with good heart room and he has neat catlike feet. He has good spring of ribs and is short coupled with good width of thigh. His angulations are equal with a good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. He flowed around the ring with great reach and bags of enthusiasm.

1. Moss’s Ousevale Angel’s Kiss at Carianjo My goodness this young bitch is such a beautiful example of the breed from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail. She was so well presented with her super light gold coat trimmed to perfection which enhanced her lovely balanced frame. Nothing was overdone and on going over her sound construction didn’t disappoint. She has such a pretty feminine head and gentle expression with dark eyes. Her front is straight with neat catlike feet. She has a lovely clean flow of neck onto shoulders well layed back with a dead level topline and tailset. The perfect symmetry of her front and rear angulations so clear to see as she moved pure and effortlessly with such reach and drive totally at one with her handler. Happy to award her BOB
2. Todd’s Van Gogh of Sunshine’s Valley with Toddrosa A pale cream beautifully presented young dog of almost a year old. Unplaced in Puppy but much more settled in this class which allowed his quality to shine through. He is in super coat and condition. He has a gentle masculine head of correct proportions with dark eyes and jet black pigment. A good straight front and good bone with neat feet. He has a lovely reach of neck onto well layed back shoulders and good length of upper arm. His chest is deep and ribs well sprung with short couplings. He has good width of second thigh and a good bend of stifle. His movement was a little loose but this should improve as he matures.

2. Poile’s Thornywait Starshine at Cherrimar A lovely feminine pale gold young bitch who was a little out of coat today. None the less I really liked her balanced frame and clean flowing outline. She has such a gentle head and expression with dark eyes and pigment. Her front is straight with good width to her chest and she is well off for bone. Her lovely reach of neck flows onto her well layed back shoulders and level topline. She has a good spring of rib and is short coupled. Strong well muscled second thighs and well let down straight hocks. She moved with good reach and drive very much at one with her handler.

2. Gulliver’s Tonara Moon Walk A lot to like about this handsome upstanding and compact mid gold young dog shown in super coat and hard muscled condition. His sound construction and super reach and drive on the move meant I was truly splitting hairs between 1. He has such a gentle, masculine head and soft yet cheeky happy expression with dark eyes. His front is super straight with good bone and nice featherings. Tight elbows and a deep chest. He has a good length of neck onto a super straight topline and tailset. I really liked his matching for and aft angulations with good length and return of upper arm which make for his nicely balanced frame.

1. Manton’s Chinnordale Dancing Queen This gorgeous mid gold girl has the most lovely wavy coat that gleamed in the sunshine. She has a pretty feminine head of good proportions and fantastic pigmentation. Her dark eyes were totally focused on her handler displaying such a lovely rapport between them as she free stood four square showing off her well balanced frame. Her front is straight with good width and she has tight catlike feet. I loved her beautiful reach of neck which flowed onto her level topline. She moved with a super long free stride holding her frame.
2. Withey’s Rosinante Major Hero A mature mid gold dog in excellent coat and condition. He has a gentle masculine head and soft expression with dark eyes and like 1 super pigmentation. He clearly loves to please his handler giving her total focus and with his tail happily wagging as he free stood with ease. He is in great hard, well muscled condition. His front is straight with good bone and strong pasterns with tight catlike feet. I would have preferred a better layback of shoulder and a little less length of lion as he had a tendency to loose his topline. He moved with enthusiasm.

1. Moss’s Molbram Venosa at Carianjo What a beautiful quality pale cream 4 year old girl in full bloom and immaculately presented. She has such a gentle, appealing and feminine head with dark eyes and pigment with ears nicely set on. Her lovely reach of neck flows perfectly onto her well layed back shoulders with good length of upper arm. Her topline and tail set are level and she has straight well let down hocks. Her fore and aft angulations are symmetrical creating a well balanced picture both in profile and on the move which enabled her to stride effortlessly around the ring. A very well deserved RBOB
2. Poile’s Summeramba Twizzle at Cherrimar I really liked this mature light gold girl who looked very nicely balanced on the stack. She has such a bidable gentle head and soft expression. A good straight front with plenty of bone and nice neat catlike feet and good featherings. She has a good reach of neck onto a level topline. Her chest is deep with well sprung ribs and short couplings. She has good equal angulations, well bent stifles and well let down hocks. She strode out nicely with reach and drive although unfortunately today she was carrying a bit too much weight which made her roll on the move.
