I would like to thank the committee of Durham canine association for the invitation to judge Pembroke corgis today, I had a wonderful appointment, and the hospitality of the committee is superb! A really lovely day out. Thank you also to my winners for respecting my placings and showing good sportsmanship in the ring. It was a pleasure to judge your dogs and thank you for entering them under me.

1st – 190 ALEXANDERS COQUETMOSS PRINCESS LEIA

I have judged this girl before and was even more impressed with her today and I love how she is developing. Presented again in beautiful coat and condition. She has a beautiful feminine head with such intelligent expression. Correct bite and eyes of correct colour and size. She has a lovely length of neck leading into well laid shoulders, clean lines set on strong elbows. A girl with lots of substance, well let down, broad and deep chest. Level topline which she held as she freely moved around the ring using her strong hindquarters to drive her around. An overall beautiful square girl who really stands out and is a pleasure to watch, she came close to BOB today.

2nd – 195 HOGGARTHS, WHITEBARN MAID BY MOONLIGHT

Another quality girl who really challenged the winner today. 3-Year-old bitch presented in beautiful coat and condition; she has a lovely head with foxy like expression. Correct bite and eyes of correct colour and shape. She stood strong and square on the table. Clean lines and good bone, correct length in neck leading to well laid shoulders and well sprung ribs. Good length of body and strong topline which she held on the move. I was very impressed with this girl’s movement; she covered the ground very well showing good reach and drive really using her strong hindquarters despite the ground conditions not being the best.

3rd- 192 BROWN’S CALWINII’S FLORENTINA ROSE

CLASS 100: OPEN (Entries 4,0 Absentees)

1st- 194 HOGGARTH’S WHITEBARN KISSED BY THE MOON

Another dog I have judged before. A 3-year-old male with such an intelligent, masculine expression and a super head. He stands out in the line with his impressive structure and angulation. He was presented in immaculate coat and condition, correct bite, eye shape and colour. Well-shaped ears placed on wide skull with correct proportions. Good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders and well sprung ribs. He stands lovely and square, and his handler showed him to advantage on the table showing off his wonderful expression that really caught my eye. On the move he does not disappoint, he strides out round the ring so freely showing his active but not overdone movement, he really uses his hindquarters well to give him the drive to float round, he was a pleasure to watch. BOB I was pleased to see him take Pastoral Group 3 later on.

2nd- 191 ALEXANDER’S ERMYN KNIGHT OF THE REALM

I was really impressed with this 7-year-old veteran he did not show his age at all, moved round the ring like a youngster a true credit to his owner. A heavier coated male but still has correct proportions and good bone. Presented in lovely coat and condition, correct bite, correct ear set and size along with correct eye and colour. He has a lovely head with an intelligent expression, broad and deep chest, correct length of neck leading into well laid shoulders and a clean, level topline. He moved beautifully, not showing any signs of being a 7-year-old, good reach and drive covering the ground well.
