Firstly, I would like to thank Horley & District Show Society for inviting me to judge the Shetland Sheepdogs, it was such a lovely show! The weather was perfect, the rings were large, and the showground was pristinely kept with short grass. A huge thank you to the steward who kept everything running smoothly, and last but not least – Thank you so much to all exhibitors who entered under me, it was lovely to have such a large entry.

Puppy Dog (1,0)

1st – WILLOWGARTH UNLIMITED LOVE – MRS J A STOCKDEN

This 11-month-old sable and white dog had a very nice head, showing a sweet expression with lovely, shaped eyes, as well as correct bite, with a long neck carrying the head proudly onto a desirable topline. Well-shaped overall both front and rear, with pleasing spring of rib and a lovely tail. On the move, this puppy had a graceful and lithe manner. This puppy couldn’t be denied BPIB, and I’m sure it will continue to do well in the future.

Puppy Bitch (2,0)

1st – EVAD HALLOWEEN SPICE – MRS D K WELLER

This 9-month-old sable and white bitch was very pretty shown by its pleasing head, with an alert expression showing correct ear placement and eye, as well as correct bite. This bitch had a good level of bone and a nice shape overall. Moved well.

2nd – FLOWERBELL ZE SHETLANDU BY ZANIAH (CZE IMP) NAF – MISS M RENNISON

This 11-month-old tri colour bitch was very sweet with a gentle temperament, displaying a lovely outline, as well as well angulated rear and adequate muscle, finished with a desirable length of tail. First place displayed better movement on the day.

Junior (2,0)

1st – WILLOWGARTH UNLIMITED LOVE – MRS J A STOCKDEN

2nd – VALDOSTA GALADRIEL AT FAEMADRA – MRS M CHEAL

This 13-month-old sable and white bitch had a lovely, sweet expression with correct ear placement and well-shaped eyes, and overall, a nice head with correct bite and stop. Nice shape both front and rear, with a level topline. First displayed better movement on the day.

Special Yearling (3,0)

1st - VALDOSTA GALADRIEL AT FAEMADRA – MRS M CHEAL

2nd – SENDORA TO BE SPECIAL – MISS D M SENDALL

This 23-month-old tri-colour bitch has a sweet eye, and is well-bodied with good bone, well sprung ribs, and a nice shape overall, finished with a long tail reaching to the hock. On the move, this bitch did so with reach and drive. Preferred the head of first.

Post Graduate (6,0)

1st – WAVESONG’S CHASING RAINBOWS – MRS ZOE FILLERY-HAMMOND

This 2-year-old sable and white dog has a desirable head, with a lovely expression and correct eye. Lovely shape from a good length of neck to the tail reaching below the hock set apart by a level topline. On the move, this dog carried out its stride lithe and gracefully.

2nd – DIPPERSMOOR DAQUIRI AT SONSPIRIT - MRS S & MISS S BARNETT

This 2-year-old dog had a lovely head accompanied with sweet expression, good bone on the body and nice shape. This dog also had a pleasing level topline and a well-kept coat. Preferred outline of first.

Limit (3,0)

1st – EVAD LUTE BREEZE – MISS S L CLOUGH

2-year-old sable and white dog. Lovely eye and nice placement of ears gives beautiful expression. Correct size, desirable shape, and good bone. This dog caught my eye with its stunning outline and well kept coat. On the move, this dog did so with drive.

2nd – ESTERBON THREE KISSES FOR TICHNESS JW – MRS L K WHITTINGTON

6-year-old tri-colour bitch. Correct eye, and nice expression resulting in a pleasing head. Nice spring of rib, and good length of neck. Decent shape overall, with a good bend of stifle being a strongpoint. Preferred outline and movement of first.

Open Dog (4,0)

1st – ZANIAH MONO TONE OF DRUMCAUCHILE – MISS S SANGSTER & MISS M RENNISON

5-year-old black and white dog. This sheltie is absolutely stunning and caught my eye as soon as it entered the ring. Beautiful expression highlights a nice head. Good length of neck leads to a well-shaped body with a level topline, good spring of ribs and correct angulation. Slightly preferred the movement of BOB, however this dog still moved well with drive. - RBOB

2nd – CAROLELEN COMPOSER AT FAEMADRA – MRS M CHEAL

3-year-old sable and white. This dog has a lovely head and a good length of neck. Nice level topline and well bodied with good angulation, nice spring of rib and adequate muscle tone. Moved well. Preferred the outline of first.

Open Bitch (4,1)

1st – TIGHNESS THE TIDE IS HIGH – MRS L K WHITTINGTON

8-year-old sable and white. This bitch has a stunning head with correct bite and beautiful expression. Nice length of neck carries the head proudly. Excellent shape with correct angulation both front and rear, well sprung ribs, and nice muscle definition. A pleasing long tail reaching to the hock finishes a striking outline. Moved with grace yet with drive and purpose. Could not be denied BOB.

2nd – CAROLELEN CALL MY BLUFF AT FAEMADRA – MRS M CHEAL

5-year-old sable and white. This bitch has a lovely expression and a good head overall. Good length of neck leads to a pleasing body with a level topline and well-angulated rear. Preferred the overall shape of first, but none-the-less a beautiful bitch.
