I would like to thank the Committee, officers and stewards for a lovely day judging at this premier open show. I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment, the show ran like clockwork, with a really friendly inclusive atmosphere. I would also like to thank all of the exhibitors who entered under me, I had the pleasure of going over some lovely examples of the breeds.

Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla

Puppy D/B, 2 (1 abs)

1st Elders Enryb Pink Panther – Although this 10month old boy stood alone, his outline with level topline to croup, and well developed body shouts HWV. With nose and eyes complimenting his deep russet coat, and facial furnishings providing a head of square appearance. His body is well developed for his age, good length to his upper arm, tight elbows and well developed chest and fore rib. Short loin to balanced hind quarters. Moved straight and true both fore and aft. RBOB and BP.

1st Elders Sh Ch Enryb Sky Blue – This 2 year old bitch again has an outline that shouts HWV. Her head has facial furnishings providing a square appearance with the kindest of eyes providing an intelligent expression. Correct scissor bite with good length of neck, leading to a good length of upper arm and well developed chest. This girl stands of tidy feet, slightly sloping pasterns and strong oval boned legs. Ribbed well back with short loin and equally balanced hind quarters. Moved straight and true both fore and aft. BOB and was pleased to see this girl go on to be awarded Group 4.

Bracco Italiano

Puppy D/B, 2 (1 abs)

1st Longman’s Braccorions’s Xoxo at Callaiscroft, O/W. This 9 month old girl has a lovely almost square outline with deep orange/ amber markings. She has the most feminine of heads with a kind eye, correct planes and chiselling giving this youngster the typical noble expression. She stood solid on tidy feet with legs of good oval bone, unexaggerated dewlap, with deep chest and tight elbows. Well sprung ribs to short loin and equally balanced hindquarters. Despite the small ring this girl was able to move with drive from her hindquarters, whilst retaining her top line. BP & RBOB.

Graduate D/B 5 (1 abs)

1st Bell & Maddox’s Whitgun Renegade Master at Owlspoint, O/W. This 1yr old young man is almost square in outline with orange/ white roan coat. Masculine head with divergent planes, under eye chiselling and median line visible to mid skull. Deep muzzle with clean neck to deep chest. Pleasing spring of rib to short, well muscled loin. Good bend of stifle to short hocks. Moving straight and true both fore and aft.

2nd Sladden’s Valcor the Confessor at Canemamans JW, O/W. This 17 month old dog is a striking mainly white with orange markings. Masculine divergent head, with chiselling and well set ears. Deep muzzle with unexaggerated dewlap to well developed chest. Good spring of rib, with muscular loin just slightly longer than 1. Muscular hind quarters to provide drive on the move. Retained topline on the move, covering the ground well.

1st Forbes’ Canemamans Primo Al Fine, O/W. 17 months orange roan dog. A deep muzzled masculine head with correct planes and chiselling with kind eye and a large spongy nose. Muscular well rounded neck to deep chest. Standing on tight feet with short slightly sloping pasterns and straight oval boned forelegs. Well ribbed back with short muscular loin giving an overall square appearance. Well balanced hind quarters with relatively short pasterns. Moved straight and true but was a victim of the smaller ring in the challenge.

Open D/B 5 (3 abs)

1st Sladden’s Ebano Dell ‘Otresavio at Canemamans (Imp ITA) ShCEx, 4yr old chestnut dog. A masculine head, so typical of the breed. Correct planes, lean cheeks, chiselling under a kind eye with nose protruding over thin lips giving a noble expression. Muscular neck, unexaggerated dewlap with broad deep chest, with good length of upper arm. Strong forelegs of oval bone with tight elbows to well sprung ribs. Short well muscled loin to broad croup sloping to docked tail. Balanced hind quarters with good length of thigh and strong relatively short hocks. Was able to demonstrate typical gait despite small ring. BOB

2nd Bell and Maddox’s SH CH Owlspoint Master of Trouble ShCM ShCEx, 7yr old O/W dog. Head of correct proportions, planes and chiselling, visible median to mid skull and well set ears. Muscular neck to broad deep chest. Strong forelegs well ribbed back to short loin, topline sloping slightly from croup to tail. Missed out to 1 when distracted by a scent he much preferred ringside on the move.

1st Bradley’s Highforce All Or Nothing JW, 22 months russet dog. A masculine head with skull slightly longer than muzzle, tapering down to a nice big brown nose. Strong jaws with scissor bite, smooth neck to prominent chest, with plenty of heart room. Good length of upper arm with tight elbows and well sprung ribs. Short muscular loin with slight tuck up, and well muscled thighs. Strong short hocks. Lively but graceful on the move, straight and true fore and aft. BOB

Open D/B 2

1st Bradley’s SH CH Vizslanya Vivmany by Highforce JW ShCM ShCEx VW, 8 year old russet bitch. This veteran girl has a very feminine head, with median line to mid skull, moderate stop, all knowing eye tapering to nice big nostrils with noble expression. Well muscled neck, prominent forechest to well laid back shoulders. Level top line, well sprung ribs with short loin and well muscled hindquarters. Moved freely. RBOB, couldn’t quite match the enthusiasm of the limit class winner today.

2nd Hardcastle & Bradley’s Vizslanya Sziena JW, 5 year old russet bitch. Pretty feminine head with skull slightly longer than muzzle, tapering down to a nice big brown nose. Scissor bite, muscular neck to prominent chest, good length of upper arm, tight elbows and plenty of heart room. Muscular loin, slight tuck up, balanced muscular hindquarters. Straight and true fore and aft, but preferred the topline of 1 on the move.

1st Webbs Albadhu Counting Stars, 18 months dog. Masculine broad slightly rounded skull. No pronounced stop, strong jaws, square set scissor bite and well fitting lips. Strong muscular neck, to wide deep chest. Well laid back shoulders, good spring of rib with short coupling and well muscled croup. Well muscled and balanced hindquarters with good length to hock. Coat dense with feathering on legs and tail. BOB
